Can I suggest a production car category? also can we switch up the year to 2015 and keep at this?
I never knew it affected it at all , I just assumed a lip at the front ‘activated’ the front inclination option, and a wing anywhere near the rear did it for the rear end. Something new for me to try out later .

I first realized this on the topgear track, the airfield benefits from super high levels of rear down force. After playing with all the aero sliders for a while I finally tried moving the wings themselves. The results of my time, currently tied for fastest production car, looks quite weird but goes like stink.

Uh, niall, I just noticed you’ve got the chassic quality on -15. That will add like 100kg to your car! Try setting it to 0, which is the lightest setting (and will also improve stiffness), and see what happens?
We went over that on the airfield thread remember, I have no idea why but I’m faster with -15
Oh yeah duh, right you are I simply forgot.
I assume that lower quality means lower chassis stiffness too. I’ve never put a CF chassis more than 0 quality because for some reason it really wrecks my tunes hmmmmm…
no way… that wing placement produces more downforce?
Get ready to see a whole wave of competition entries with wings sticking off the back of the car - I think nialloftara might have just ‘broken’ the game .
More rear down force, the location on the car determines the f/r split of each wing’s or lip’s down force effect, to get the maximum amount to the rear you’ve got to place your wing at the rear most point on your car. For me that means hanging them off the back,
the game doesn’t seem to care how much air flow, or at what angle the wing element is in. This also means if you want a more balanced down force you should put your wings further forward on the car.
It also crashes when run on a lot of tracks.
Like I said the airfield benefits from lots of rear, if I could be bothered to actually download each track in a series and tune my cars extensively for the series I’d spend hours figuring out the perfect spot for each fixture. As it is I just make the cars look good to me spend a few minutes on the suspension and gearing then submit, for these long standing leader boards I tend to get obsessive returning to a design again and again to get it exactly right. For instance it this one I found I could nudge my wings forward a bit to help front end down force which allowed me to run super narrow 135mm( I think) front wheels without exploding.
That’s if you don’t balance out the downforce with something on the front, but when it comes to tuning something to the maximum tolerance of Airfield, yes, that’s exactly what happens, because most tracks aren’t perfectly flat like Airfield is!
Truth be told, many of my “time attack” cars look the same way, it’s hardly a new revelation. It’s just… I tend to disguise mine in other manners.
I will have to dissappoint you all as i broke the current record by 0.02 seconds yet again…
in 2014 tech year.

0-100 in two seconds FLAT?! IMPOSSIBRUUUU
Hoho! Looks like awd is fighting back. Okay I’ll have a chance to fire back Saturday night. Nice job!
It ain’t AWD Bro.
Changed things up huh?
What would blow my mind was if it were fwd LOL.
Jokes, well, this isn’t currently on my to do list, but I’m looking forward to seeing what happens!
EDIT: Wait, nope, scratch that idea. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to switch bodies, methinks.
You guys had me beat using the original MR body, so I’d like to see what you can get out of trackpaduser’s new Group C body! The downforce and weight distributions are very finnicky, but the potential returns are massive. Suffice to say, holy crap, this car hooks up fast if you get the setup right. Too bad it doesn’t tolerate quite as high amounts of power. And I only spent an hour on it, so I’m sure there’s more to be gained from it.
p.s. tech year still 2014.
Maybe so niall, but… I presume you’re still using the newer Mr body. I don’t know how you’re getting that body to 7.63!
The way I see it now that so many mods are coming out, it’s more about finding what each body is capable of rather than finding the best time overall. You should give the group c shell a try, it’s amazing when you figure it out. I wouldn’t be surprised if you found some extra time.
