When I looked at your company’s name on this thread I couldn’t help but notice the irony, since Adagio is a musical term for a slow tempo, whereas the Leggiero, with its potent all-alloy V12, is anything but (for its time, anyway).

Not for long! I’m trying to practice my design skills in pre-2010 because that’s pretty much everything I can’t do so well. What I’ll do is make cars which are just designs and not much more. All this is for prep when I relaunch Cavallera. I can’t guarantee that it’ll be any good or if it’s going to resemble what’ll come out later

Ahh, but you see, while adagio means slow tempo, Leggiero is another musical term which means light and graceful, things that the Adagio Leggiero are :grin: (Light and graceful that is)

EDIT: Besides, Adagio is more of a luxury car manufacturer so speed isnt their main selling point

Greetings folks! It’s your dashing correspondant for all things automobiles, Gordon Anderson! Splendind Auto Monthly have given me the great pleasure of covering this year’s Earls Court Auto Show, the ever glamorous London-based motor vehicle convention set in the heart of the city’s glorious district of Kensington.

Already, the great display halls of this world-renowned exhibition centre have been showcasing the finest examples of modern automobile design, really showing off the ‘cutting edge’ work of the industry.

Let us see what’s been going down during these opening days!

Today’s music of choice is the bluesy Boom Boom by John Lee Hooker!

WMD debuted their sleek mid-range sports coupe the CB6 today, revealing both a coupe and cabriolet variant. The styling is concice and focused, and features a very advanced light-fixture that the company has called “pop-up headlights”. They’re ever so fancy, popping out of the front of the car whenever you turn the lights on. We’re not sure whether it’ll catch on though, seems a little gimmicky to us.

On the streets of London, The CB6 is refined and calm. Not particularly sharp or electrifying, but there’s something quite reassuring about that. The 2.6l i6 is joyous, and better still, it’s a double cam unit, making it silky smooth and delivering good amounts of power with ease. Certainly one to consider if you’re looking for a tamer sports car with uncomplicated looks and sweet style.

Petoskey’s display features a myriad of intriguing vehicles. Once again, they’re showing off their futuristing Rapier sedan, which still looks just as groundbreaking as it did last year upon its release. A brand new mid-size sedan called the Cortino was also introduced, with a range of variants to suit needs. Its plain styling should not put you off; the car is very good when it comes to running costs, practicality and efficiency. However, something tells us that another American brand might have some problems with its name in a few years time.

An incredible American import was also on show in the form of the incredible Ventor Sovereign. They describe it as their “luxury flagship”, and it isn’t far off from actually being classed as a ship. Of particular note is its phonograph sound system, a technology that is only just starting to see application in the home, let alone automobiles. Sat beside it was there Stag off-roader, which should certainly look good along Britain’s very own Land Rover, whilst a new concept version of the replacement for the Meteor sports car was also revealed, featuring a strange object called a “wing” on the boot.

Plucky car maker Cornaldie revealled a strange looking van called the Bonwagon yesterday, which features an incredible futuristic looking grill that we’re sure could be quite contemporary in the coming decades. Powered by a tiny inline 6, this cutesy van is far from what you would call “something with finesse”, but it is fun to drive, and appears to have been made to excellent standards, meaning it should be both practical and reliable to run.

Italian luxury car maker showed us the Adagio Leggiero today, a V12 powered GT cruiser that looks beautiful. Gently curved, detailed with tasteful chrome and sporting the gorgeous rumble of a 3.2 V12, the Leggiero is gorgeous, to say the least. That said, we can’t help feel that it could be more powerful but perhaps we’re being picky.

We’re still undecided as to whether the Ragno variant or the Berlientta variant is better looking; both would fit in perfectly parked on a Mayfair side street or on the French Riviera.

The latest version of Brivio’s family car, the Roma, was revealled yesterday, and looks to be one of the most smartly designed cars in its sector. Italian styling meets modern advances like the disc brakes and central locking system. The inside is spacious and practical, meaning the Roma is both classy and usable as well, a perfect combination.

Astranti, yet another Italian maker, unveiled the beautiful 3400GT…wait, 3500GT? We’re not sure, but it’s one of those two. This 232 hp sports coupe is incredibly fast, capable of a claimed 148 mph. Few other details have been given, but we can tell you that this SS trim is certainly the most exciting car we’ve driven so far at this year’s show. The styling is pure Italy, the power is borderline race car and the price is the opposite of both of these; at $12800, we believe this to be some serious value for money!

Monolith is a name that most people have not yet heard of but it is one to keep an eye on in the near future. The brand has only existed for five years but like their parent company IMP they have quickly established themselves on the continent as a manufacturer of high-quality automobiles with highly sophisticated engineering. Their latest offering is an intriguing new concept that combines a four-wheel drive chassis similar to that of a Land Rover with a refined and powerful six cylinder engine and an elegant estate car body. The chassis features coil springs for unprecedented ride quality in a four-wheel drive automobile. The cross-flow 3.8L engine comes in two configurations, with overhead valves and 130bhp or OHC with 175bhp. Both engines have a four-speed full syncromesh transmission. The M110 3.8 Litre Standard will cost £2326 when it arrives in britain later this year. The 3.8 Litre Super features a luxuriously appointed interior and power steering not unlike a Rover 3 Litre and costs £2884. The vehicle appears promising, although we are not yet convinced that there is a market for a luxurious four-wheel drive estate car.

A small Italian man sneaks into the Earls Court Motor Show after dark with a large roll of paper. He makes his way over to the Astranti plinth, puts the paper on the display board and leaves. The paper in question displays the first drawings of a new breed of vehicle ,dramatic body lines and immense power take over.

Set to appear to the public on the 4th day.

Imola, the fun small sports with a big Italian heart

The Imola MkII has been on sale in Italy for almost a year, but now it is time for everyone else to get a taster of what Brivio is capable of, the Brits missed out on the MkI but that is ok because frankly it wasn’t our best work.

This is a car for the grown ups, let the kids have their fun in their cheap British sports cars, this is the car for you to enjoy driving along that long sweeping road that runs along the stunning Cornish coast, this car is not one to abuse, but one to care for, who knows you may end up naming your one, Maria comes to mind for this one.

Under the bonnet sits a hard working 1.6 liter 8 Valve Inline 4 engine that puts out a rather respectable 94hp, this sweet little thing will run you up to 62mph in around 12 seconds and will continue on to 105mph.

The car weighs in at around 827kg and thanks to the light weight will happily achieve 25mpg as to not be too harsh on the wallet.

Inside you will find two comfortable but functional racing styled real Italian red leather seats with a stunning white and red dashboard, You will find an easy to use AM radio with two speakers, listening to music in this car really isn’t what is important though, hearing that little four cylinder working hard is.

The car comes with a 4 speed manual transmission with syncros on all of the gears (bar reverse) for ease of driving, the optional power steering is there for the men who just want something to cruise in wheras the standard models are for the men who want to barrel along the country roads at full chat.

Best part is, it will only cost £6,500.00 in its most basic form, and if you buy one now you will recieve a very special pair of racing goggles that have been signed by everyone involved with making this magnificent car when it finally releases in the UK in a few months time.

edit - A message from the engineering department state that a new 16V DOHC 1.6 Inline 4 is in the works

Here’s a concept for a joint project between Kessler Autocraft and Petoskey’s Ventnor Division.




The Kessler C7 will be the ultimate amalgamation between a German sports car and American muscle. While Kessler is working on the chassis and body design, Ventnor is hard at work developing a powertrain for this new car. It looks to be a promising partnership in the future.

The Verisimo is Adagio’s flagship line of luxury sedans set to enter the UK market this year. While entering the European market 5 months ago, the Verisimo has achieved high acclaim as being a great luxury car and even as a GT Premium. Inside, the Lusso Spec, you will be able to find luxury amenities such as a luxury wine cupboard, a luxury phonograph, chestnut trim along with hand-crafted leather seats made in Italy, some silk curtains and a new innovative silent sunroof, so no more will you hear motors whirring when you open the sunroof. Under the bonnet is the same engine from the Leggiero, however, this variant of the Arturo 317 V12 has been tuned for a more relaxing ride. ##Adagio Verisimo Premio
The Premio Spec is the Premium line of the Verisimo. Unlike the Lusso, the Premio is equipped with a 3L V8. This provides a similar amount of power for a smaller package and price. The interior is also much cheaper, opting for more premium cloth seats and lacking walnut trim and instead opting for pine trim and no electric sunroof. However, this does significantly reduce the price of the car to something more affordable to most people at only $17940

Hello once more my fellow car lovers and welcome back to the prestigious Earls Court Auto Show! The display halls remain packed as London plays host to the finest selection of automobiles in the world right now. Italian automakers have continued to be very prominent at the show, but they certainly aren’t the only ones here.

Let’s take a tour through days 4 and 5!

Today’s music of choice is the eclectic Sister Rosetta Tharpe with a live version of Didn’t It Rain!

Scillilian-based SAF showed off a family car of the future! Or at least a few years down the line. the SAF 402 is a bog standard Italian mini-saloon affair, and we love it. Gorgeous styling, good practicality, and a hell of a lot of fun to drive. While most of the specs aren’t really relevant currently (as it won’t be on sale until 1966), it certainly looks to be affordable, sturdy and practical, which should mean it’ll give our well established British makers a run for their money should SAF choose to export the car to Britain.

German premium off-road brand Monolith revealed a new four wheel drive estate called the M110. Powered by a 3.8l i6 with (up to) 175hp, it’s a powerful combination of refinement and ruggedness. The German car industry rarely makes itself known in the UK - they are, of course, no where near as large as the British car industry (and we certainly don’t see that changing!) but this certainly seems to be an intriguing offer for those looking for a premium 4 door car with an extra dose of practicality thanks to that wagon body. We look forward to testing its off-road credentials later in the year.

Cornaldier revealed the Beretta 350 GT V12, which we already love just for that name. Set to release in 1963, this 261 hp “super” car could well be the fastest car in the world when it is released, capable of 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. That makes it very nearly as quick as some Le Mans race cars from today. Concise styling and a flat body shape certainly make this look futuristic, though it lacks comfort due to its stripped out interior. That said, it is a convertible, and you bet we can’t wait to max this thing out with the roof down.

The Astranti stand displayed a sleek looking shape yesterday. We can’t even begin to ascertain what sort of car this might be, though we heard one rumour that said it could be “mid-engine”. Whatever that means…

Brivio unveiled the Mk II version of the Imola sports coupe, named after dangerous and rip-roaring central-Italian race circuit. Contemporary styling and typical i4 power, this little sports car is nippy and fairly agile, with a gorgeous interior - certainly giving its British sports car contemporaries a run for their money. We can expect it to land on our shores in a few months time, where a proper comparison alongside the likes of the MG A and Triumph TR 3 can take place.

JHW weirdly announced an entire lineup for 1965, giving us a glimpse into the future once more. The dinky little Forte family car features unusual headlight design that sets it apart from the competition, and looks to be as practical as you’d expect for a car of its type. The large Harrier saloon will feature disc brakes when it’s released, as well as a delightful 2.4l i6.

To top this all off, a new luxury sedan called the Park-Regent will also be released, though we suspect a certainly company with the initals “RR” might have some questions about its styling…

Another “mid-engine” car made an appearance today in the form of the Kessler C7. A joint venture between Kessler Autocraft and Ventor, this sleek sports car is still in development, but some are already suggesting that it might be hugely influential on future car design. More to follow.

Finally, Adagio l̶a̶u̶n̶c̶h̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶J̶a̶g̶u̶a̶r̶ ̶M̶k̶ ̶I̶I̶.̶…no…hang on, they annoucned the introduction to the UK of the Verisimo! This fancy premium saloon is defined by its gorgeous curves and abundant chrome, and is powered by a V12. Aimed squareely at the GT market, it’s astoundingly comfortable and even features suicide doors just to be a little bit fancier. Two trims will be availible, the former Lusso model being the V12 powered luxury variant, while the latter will be a cheaper, premium version called the Premio. It’s still very comfortable, and benefits from a lovely 2.7l V8 to power it.
