Yup, not surprised at all that the Ebi Kei 500 didn’t make the cut.
Qualification C1
C1 now, with engines up to 1150cc. 20 entries and engine displacements from 987cc to 1150cc, the maximum; and power outputs from 62 horsepower to 101.

I don’t want to give too much away in terms of performance, so I will keep a detailed breakdown for at the very end. However, I can say a few words on those not qualifying.

Comments:
Despite a relatively quick times, the Schwarzburg and Albatross were not among the fastest. Sacrifices in terms of costs and technical choices meant they finished below the top 10.
Again, the slower 5 scored very well on all other points, but were simply too slow to compete, although the Suzume and LLA also suffered drivability issues, not helping the time either.
The Latsun was a bit of a surpise, the considering its C0 cousin actually did well. This car, however, was nigh undrivable.
The RAI was too average in everything, including stage time; and the Tiny 1100, again, was over-engineered, ridiculously expensive, and not even that fast.
Damn, Bechov just misses out twice!
Well good lesions learned, that money doesn’t win the race you have to to do it with a bit of thinking not just putting the best parts and a light engine, hoping to bring some wise ideas to next competitions
So did the 506 not make it through scrutineering or did you miss it ? It should be in the pack.
Apologies! A typo in the engine displacement (1165 instead of 1132) has sent the car up a class. C1 has been updated.
Qualification C2
18 entries and engine displacements from 1196cc to 1300cc, the maximum; and power outputs from 75 horsepower to 133.

Comments:
Times close together this time, with the Coyote and TBA missing out due to budget penalties and drivability issues.
The Besffusci and LLA are the closest to miss out, with good overal design scores. Going lower, it’s mostly time that becomes an issue. The Tiny was actually pretty controllable this time around, but total lack of design, and the slower time killed it. The Epoch and Velkolepy were simply a disaster to control.
is it okay for you if you tag me as well for the results on the Hugi cars of @Nicking_HC ?
Anhultz (my company) and Hugi worked together closely to create what has been entered into the rally.
which is why there is Anhultz plastered over the car
Never build RR cars for Beam.NG comps, folks
I’m tagging the person sending in the cars. You’ll have to follow up on the thread, I’m afraid.
5 cars with RR so far qualified for the main event though.
…or actually test your cars in Beam.NG before submitting
fair enuff…
I’ll do my best to keep it in mind, but do take into account I’m working with a ton of entries and multiple Excel sheets here
I imagine, your car actually has potential, but it’s too high on too soft a suspension, and suffers snap oversteer.
well bugger! that desn’t bode well for me…
It could be worse, but the following words might or might not be noted down next to a JHW car: “not an enjoyable car to drive, unstable, understeer and power only in high revs”
Well, I have to say my eyes got as wide as dinner plates when I saw the Aurea’s result. I was expecting a good outing, but not this overwhelmingly good! I mean conquering a class against Bogliqs and Contis with a car that just made its Automation/Beam debut… Proof Anhultz’s Modularity Program works its craft well.
Looks like the Aurea has a very bright future in hoppy rallying…
May I ask how you found the LLA to drive?
Understeering and the braking balance turning the back round under heavy braking.
I’m kind of worried for my silverbirds, because they are (I think) very tricky to drive.
That’s how the 3c behaves sometimes. With such a short wheelbase and rally suspension, it just likes to sometimes lift its rear wheels under heavy braking and spin. But setting the brake bias to front meant less braking force, so I went with the current setup.
You’ll probably notice that the 4c can also sometimes be understeery, especially on 13psi rear tyres. But that’s what I had to do to make it able to use most of its power (on gravel).
They’re okay to drive, but very hard to even semi-master, imo.
How did you like those two crazy RRs so far? I’m wondering if you noticed those two problems that I listed (they’re much more noticeable on gravel).
Edit: you can message me via PM if you
i have an inkling on which one that is lol
