Does anybody have a clue what kind of lap time will be taken into account? normal lap time (with start from the grid) or flying lap time?

The default track seemed only to have a standing start lap, so that’s the one I was benchmarking!

hmmm, automation is dishing out several lua errors when testing the car on the circuit. Any suggestion?

Try deleting or modifying (usually decrease) the angle of the rear wing.

Just noticed something odd. Automation seems to “forget” the air cooling settings. I have the car. Close it then open the model again, test track it and get different air cooling settings and different times on the track.

Yes, it is a known bug. Just clicking on the cooling slider up and down forces the game to load the correct settings. Everyone who runs a competition should be careful with that issue.

I’ve tried with a stock car (no aero or anything else), still wild lua errors appearing.

Post the bug here (screenshot/copy-paste text/etc.)

After clicking retry 3 times the game aborts the lap start and i’m left standing in the statistics screen.
Clicking Exit ctd the game.

The problem it’s encountered only with the pre-wedge body.

Your car is probably flipping and crashing on the cresting right kink at the end of Les Hunaudinaires :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m guessing the car has a LOT of front lift? It’s probably exceeding the levels at which the car’s front tyres stays in contact with the ground.

Ive got same error days ago.Actually its producing this error only on GreenHell and Sans Chicanes when you add lip or wing to your car.Ive tested prewedge and big mr body ,both producing the errors.Ive tested the same cars on all other tracks that i have and there is no problem there.

Like Duratec, you’re definitely crashing the car due to too much lift on the front. I’m guessing you have somewhere in the realm of -50kg @ 200km/h on the front?

This isn’t a problem on tracks that are a) slower, b) don’t have high speed crests, where the road drops away reducing the effective relative weight of the front wheels on the road. However, Nordschleife has a couple of very high speed points that end in crests. If the car goes fast enough, that lift effect rises exponentially and if the front wheels lose contact with the ground, the car will lift up and fly off into the stratosphere and land in the bushes, as occasionally happens in this kind of racing!

You are right.Ive just putted 2 wings on the front and the error is gone :slight_smile:.

Really thank you strop, totally overlooked the lift data…it was, well, pretty high ;D

I think I should give strop some thanks as well because when it came to me actually testing my car, I found that error as well.

That being said…

I would have worked on this earlier but life priorities not withstanding, I didn’t start working until when I thought was an hour or so before the actual deadline. Though one other reason was me being a bit discouraged.

I know that to quite a degree, when it comes to competitions here, a number of us if not a lot of us are rather competitive, and that’s alright. It’s just that given how poorly my ATCC entry is doing, I wondered if I should even bother to try and step up only to fall short a thousand miles at least (into oncoming traffic)…and I hate feeling embrassed/and or just doing poorly. But…at the same time I want to actually attempt to put some effort into making a machine that might be competitive in some way.

And maybe I’ll learn something even after banging my head against a stone wall a few hundred times…

To that end,

The Weiler Racing division C1-82, even when rushing, I tried to cover what I could, but I bet anyone else could see a billion glaring errors if taking a view of this car indepth.


If there was a glaring achilles heel, it would be that the engine may be underpowered compared to the competition, although when I tried to squeeze a bit more power without making the fuel too rich, I found it going slower so I stuck to what I finally settled on. That and I wish the engine bay was larger but, you make due with what you have.

I apologize for rambling…life has not been fun for me for a while.
