Hi folks.
Firstly, I’m surprised nobody else seems to have pointed this out, but the dropdown menus seem to be a bit broken at the moment; they are completely and totally randomized, whereas they weren’t before this latest beta build… So can you guys please fix this bug ASAP? (I don’t personally care all that much whether the fix involves sorting cars & engines by year, as was done previously, or by alphabetical order).
Also, can you guys please bring back the engine import option? This was highly convenient and helpful for those of us working with multiple models under one carmaker, whenever we wished to share engines between two or more models(think: Chevy’s 350 being used in both the Caprice and the full-size Blazer during the '70s and '80s, for one real-life example).
Edit: Sorry for any misunderstandings, btw-I just didn’t know what the dropdown menus were actually called until Awildgermanappears pointed it out.
I would be happy if there is a small search box that can get instant filte of name (or by type\ volume as an advance option)
For eg. Just a small input box, if you type “V” in it, the list will left for engine that only named with “V” and you type 12 in it, there are only engines named after “V12”…
The model and family selection were never sorted, the trim and variant selections are.
This is not a feature we can easily implement, but the issue is solved in the current Unreal Engine version of the game already. Hence we don’t want to spend time on that now.
Hope you understand!
I remember when engines were sorted chronologically in the dropdown menu. It was nice.
Yeah, so do I(which I was trying to refer to). Hopefully we’ll get that feature back at some point.
It just looks like they went from chronological order to alphabetical order. A minor inconvenience, but nothing too major.
They’re not even alphabetical… I really don’t know what order they’re in now, I just know I have to scroll through everything to find the engine posibilities for a model.
Yeah, the main selection screens are working fine, but the dropdown menus(I just couldn’t figure out what they were called earlier) are both completely randomized now, and this is a huge problem, particularly for those of us who’ve built lots of models and engines, and who want to use the exact same engine for more than just one car(like most real world automakers do).
And my question is, this particular issue has been fixed before: as Awildgermanappears pointed out, engines were once sorted chronologically in the dropdown menus…so why not rectify this again? It shouldn’t be too difficult and even if we had to wait until the next big update(sometime in June/early July?), it would be a major benefit.
Yeah, we’ll look into this to see if there is a quick fix or if it indeed has to wait until the Unreal Engine version.
Thank you; that would really help. As others have stated; before the last update the engines were sorted chronologically in the drop-down menu. I can not determine how they are sorted right now… it seems completely random. That makes it very difficult to find the correct engine when I have nearly 100 of them.
