A few more questions

Hey y’all, so I realized that I had asked some questions on another post and figured I would put them in my own post and add some other questions that I had into this post. That way it would be easier for me to follow and the developers to answer. I at first wanted to say, WOW, you guys have done a fantastic job and I really can’t wait to see this simulation come into fruition. I’ve already pre-ordered it and have been seeing a lot of interest in it in many of my friends(pretty much all of them are major car buffs, lol) too. But anyways, on with the questions!

  1. On the business/world map side, you guys were saying that there will be a plot view for factories and such. I was curious if you were planning on doing a plot view for dealers too? Or would that be a little too much to dive into and more control than needed?

  2. Also, were you planning on covering both the private consumer and commercial side? I’m not asking about light trucks and Semis, that’s already been covered, lol. I’m asking in the respect of selling commercially, like to police departments/taxi companies/large companies. I ask because I know that in some markets, such as here(Alaska), commercial sales are a large part of the market. Which brings me to my next question…

  3. I remember you saying that you won’t be putting the little niche markets in because that would be extremely time consuming and a little too much to deal with for many people. I can see why all of North America would be put as one region, however, what about odd markets such as Alaska? I’ve travelled all over North America and it’s pretty much all the same, but here, things are very different. I’m sure there are other places in the world just like that, and i’m wondering how you plan on accounting for that, or if you do?

Thank you very much for all your hard work and your responses in advance!

  1. Probably that would be going a bit too far… and too little return on the effort implementing such a feature. I’m not sure that’s be worth the player’s time. Interesting suggestion nonetheless.

  2. We have not yet nailed down that aspect, and commercial contractors will be discussed. If we find a solid, easy way to implement them - why the hell not?

  3. The US will most probably not be a single region, for that it is too big of a market. While Alaska is part of the US, I would imagine it being much closer to Canada regarding cars… so that may be a potential simplification?

Thank you for the quick reply!

  1. Yeah, that’s what I was guessing since in an entire region, like the US, you might only have 1-3 factories, but 150 dealerships, so perfectly understandable.

  2. Excellent, I hope it happens!

  3. Very true, being born in Arizona (Southwest), we had a much different market than say New York, lol. So that makes complete sense . In my little experience in Canada, my observation was that it was very similar, vehicle wise, to the US. Where as AK is so weird compared to either. While you can buy the same vehicles here as you can in the lower 48, the main thing here is 4wd and Awd. Subarus are probably one of the #1 selling vehicles here along with the big 3’s(Chevy, Ford, Dodge) trucks. There are also a lot of obscure things like 80’s and 90’s Awd Corollas that I’ve never seen before until i moved here, lol. Just in case you were interested.

However you do it though, I know it will be a great experience all the way around!
