TEAM "34th STREET"

INTRODUCING
THE CREW

Keith "Ranger" Johnson

“Shut the fuck up! I’m not your ‘big titty American redneck waifu’, so stop fucking calling me that!”
Sex: F
Age: 28 Forever 17
Hometown: Phoenix, Arizona
Favourite Firearm: .44 Magnum “Most Powerful Handgun in the World”
Dislikes: anime

A former member of the Arizona Ranger Corps, a very skilled weapons smith and the leader of 34th Street. Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, she ended up joining the Ranger Corps when she was still relatively young. To make a long story short, she didn’t like it there and eventually quit, being a NEET and living with her childhood friend ever since.

She might be secretly in-love with her childhood friend, but her rather playful and spirited personality makes this a huge mystery to a lot of people. Despite almost always enjoying being out in the sun, she for some reason doesn’t get tanned, much to her annoyance.
While being the de-facto leader of 34th Street, she doesn’t do a lot of commanding.

Daniel "4D" Miller

“Am I supposed to say something?”
Sex: M
Age: 29
Hometown: San Francisco Bay, California
Favourite Song to Sing: Puppy Love
Dislikes: Plant-based burgers

Son of a military engineer, Daniel was known for being a delinquent in his early childhood years, and one particular fight got him bruises and black eyes that eventually gave way to the nickname “4D”. He joined the Army because of his father’s influence. He’s a great singer (Or that’s what Keith claims, anyway), and post-Army service he found himself singing at local cantinas.

He’s Keith’s childhood, and probably best friend. He’s been thinking of going further with her, but his gut tells him not to. Oh, and his dad owns a giant junkyard in Arizona full of surplus military equipment from around the world. He’s a relatively competent mechanic and navigator and is second-in-command to Keith, however he serves as the de-facto leader as his decisions are arguably more logical thanks to his earlier military experience.

Micheal "Big M" Kareem

“
”
Sex: Everyday
Age: 35
Hometown: Las Vegas, Nevada
Favourite Hololive Member: Ninomae Ina’nis
Dislikes: Picture frames that are off-center relative to the floor or surface they are placed upon

A Nigerian-born resident of the Las Vegas Valley, Micheal is 34th Street’s driver, and the head mechanic of the team. From a young age, he was raised to do things with utmost precision, and you could say he’s a masochist for perfection with the way he engineers his stuff and drives vehicles. He’s not a mute, but he doesn’t like speaking a lot. At least, not recognizable words. He’ll often reply with grunts and/or hums and use hand-signals.

He headed the creation of the Takover Watson, being responsible for its design and building. He also seems to be a fan of a certain purple-haired tentacle girl from a certain virtual idol group.

Ki-tae "Krazy" Kim

“I think it started recording. Oh yeah, it’s on now. Is it? How do you even do this?”
Sex: M
Age: 22
Hometown: Dallas, Texas
Favourite Vacuum Cleaner: iRobot Roomba 960 Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Wi-Fi Compatibility and Amazon Alexa Ideal for Pet Hair Carpets Hard Floors Black
Dislikes: Dropping his phone in the toilet

An Korean-American anarchist son of famous doctors, with ADHD and an interest in engineering. Currently being mentored by Micheal, he helped him with the building of the Takover Watson. He is the opposite of Micheal, seemingly hating order and taking great pleasure in absolute chaos. Somehow, he can understand Micheal’s words easily.

One thing that he isn’t chaotic about is gun safety, however. It seems embedded into his blood that guns should be taken seriously. Another thing to take note of is that his ADHD seems severe enough to the point that he can notice something from a very long distance away. Being the son of doctors, he took multiple first aid courses when he was younger and is more than capable of treating wounds, heavy or not. As such, he’s relegated to medic, scout, and back-up gunner duties, a Jack-of-all-trades if you will.

2012 QUEZON CUSTOM BUILT
TAKOVER WATSON

Ah yes, 34th Street’s vehicle of choice.

The name alone could already be implied that it isn’t some regular old milsurp MRAP straight outta Iraq.

And that’s because it isn’t.

The Takover Watson is a 2012 Quezon Custom Built SE-LITE that was heavily modified by Micheal and Ki-tae under Keith and 4D’s requirements.

Though, it wouldn’t exactly be fair to still call it a Custom Built, as Keith’s ever-changing requirements led them to basically building a new vehicle from the ground up based on the existing vehicle’s shape.

For instance, the chassis is a newly manufactured steel ladder frame with parts repurposed from an older MRAP design, and the original body was simply welded right on at its strongest points.

Armor plating consists of very heavy steel, with up to 127mm at some points on the vehicle. Small arms fire and even some heavy duty rifles are virtually useless against this. Spaced and sloped armor is also utilised on some points within the vehicle, making it look and feel thicker than it actually is.

Giant steel spikes are also fitted onto the front of the vehicle, allowing it to serve as a massive battering ram and letting it plow through lighter armoured vehicles with its 5156kg gross weight (2501kg curb).

The underside of the vehicle has also been heavily reinforced, with the steel plating made to handle light explosives, making it ever so closer to an actual MRAP.

The drivetrain was also swapped to one similar to that in a heavy-duty truck, with a 6 litre Bonhomme 6000 Supertorque Multi-Fuel inline-5, a 9-speed automatic transmission, and 4x4. This allows the vehicle to move around with enough swiftness to not get caught in deep shit.

Even then, the vehicle is still limited to 120km/h for safety reasons, but with the turn of a key, the driver can let the vehicle run up to 160km/h for a short period of time.

Armament consists mainly of four M2HB .50cal machine guns, as well as other handheld weapons and some handheld rocket launchers on board that can be utilised by either gunners.

Size-wise, it’s not exactly that much bigger over a regular Custom Built. But it’s bulkier, heavier, better armored, and will come with you to the end of the world.

Looking closer at the vehicle, the paint scheme overall could said to be reminiscent of both a tank and a WW2-era bomber, adorned with writings, roundels, pin-up artwork (Which according to 4D, somehow randomly appeared overnight), as well as a military green paint job.
On their first test drive, they got the vehicle a bit dirty it seems. Ki-tae heavily insisted the vehicle shouldn’t be cleaned anymore.

Fitted on the sides are some other utility equipment that couldn’t fit on the vehicle, including some wood pallets tied on just in case they get stuck in some mud, an axe for both self defense and cutting down things, a shovel for digging themselves out of a hole, and two full-size spares in the event shit hits the fan and two tyres blowout at the same time.

And I almost forgot to mention, the vehicle has runflats sourced from a 2 1/2 ton truck.

The vehicle was built by Micheal and Kim-tae using metal from 4D’s milsurp junkyard, and as you can see;

Some welds are better done than others, could you figure out who did which weld perhaps?

If you would also notice, the tailgate is not covered with the thick armour plating like the rest of the vehicle.

That’s intentional, because apparently the original tailgate was strong enough to withstand being shot at by pistol fire, and so they instead just added some smaller spaced out armor plates behind it to work as a spall liner and reinforced the inside of the tailgate with some extra bars to prevent excessive explosive damage.

The tailgate is also used as the only door on the vehicle. All the others have been blocked off and as such, the rear is the only place where you can exit the vehicle unless you use the hatches.

Micheal being the main builder, was responsible for naming the vehicle, and boy did he pick quite the name, aye? A very tako-tical name for an inapressive vehicle. Quite amezing the way he has with words, huh?

Going inside the vehicle, there’s not a lot of room to be had. Combine it with the sheer size of Keith’s ass and it’s almost like sharing a coffin with a cow.

Even then, you can still breathe in here and store your food and rations. You can also sleep here comfortably, which is of course a nice bonus assuming you enjoy being squished between a cowgirl ranger’s tits and a buff ex-military engineer/medic’s biceps.

In the cockpit, also known as Micheal’s favourite spot, is where the man commands the 5-ton machine. Some aspects of the original vehicle were carried over, but it is still almost entirely custom.

And that about consists of the tour of the Takover Watson, 34th Street’s prime improvised fighting vehicle

See you on the battlefield!

Or maybe Valhalla!

Always watching...

There may not be a lot known about the two beings that everyone fears but the only thing important is that they will always be watching
lurking in the shadows

(OOC): Don’t worry, this is just the way of me saying I am gonna watch the challenge and see who wins. Plus, it adds a mystery the teams can investigate if they wanted to.

Team “Steel Phoenix”

The Car

1985 Tristella Accipiter Custom “Steel Phoenix”

It doesn’t take much to see that the Steel Phoenix is no amatuer job. Afterall, there is nothing saying you can’t get someone else (or more importantly, a team of mechanics) to build your custom death chariot. The base of the build is created upon an old Tristella Accipiter - an old favorite of the twins in the classic car collection. It has however been heavily reworked and rebuilt, with a 6.2l V10 at its heart, paired to a modern Tristella AWD drivetrain and custom ride adjustable suspension. And of course, there are the armaments.

Weapons and armor:

Exo-cage ramp: Perhaps the skeleton of the entire Steel Phoenix build, the Accipiter has a full exocage built around it, bolstering the supercar’s structural rigidity as well as serving as a base for the extra armor plating and massive ramp at the front, also built with armor plating. The armor plating is cut with simple shapes for easy replacements when necessary, and sit over the already armored chassis of the Accipiter. The rear of course is the most armored, with a triple layer of plate. The way it has built however limits entry to a hatch done on the roof. The ramp itself serves as an elegant ‘ramming’ weapon, minimizing damage to the car while possibly disabling opponents by flipping them. It also acts as a sweep to move away road hazards.

Reinforced chassis and armor plating: Of course, the exocage can’t be the only piece of armor, the chassis has been reinforced, with extra armor panels on crucial areas and bulletproof glass protecting the cockpit.

Dual .50 cal machineguns: Standard affair for these types of cars, however is mounted on gyroscopic rotary mounts to increase accuracy. Controls are fed to a system that is utilized by the co-pilot.

Dual retractable heat blades: Perhaps an oddity to have a weapon this close range, but these prove to be good as a finisher or disabler, either by slashing even the strongest of armored tires or if you’re feeling spicy, drifting into and piercing the cockpit of an opponent. Also good for cutting pedestrian legs. Retractable if needed.

Dual flamethrowers: A defensive weapon, the dual flamethrowers fire and ignited stream of napalm to discourage chasers.

Missile pod - 32x guided rockets: The main weapon of the Steel Phoenix, a full pod of 32 rockets. Controlled by the copilot, these make for the ideal heavy hitting mid to long range weapon with great accuracy. Can be used to combo with the ramp for an almost sure kill with risk of self damage.

At the core of all this, the existing interior has been mostly stripped and rebuilt for combat. To rectify the abysmal visibility, the car has been fitted with several cameras on the exterior feeding into the screens within, with an extra large one for the copilot.

The Team

Maria and Emiliya Lebedev

The twin siblings of the family Lebedev, known for deep connections with the Russian mafia. With a power vacuum there to be filled, it is not surprising to see those from the underground crawl up and try to take their hold.

From birth, the two sisters had lived a luxurious lifestyle, fueled by the criminal activities done by their family. Their family had power, wealth, but their parents knew that it could come crashing down at some point. So while they enjoyed their ill gotten gains, they were taught how to take it back. Either by manipulation and cunning, or by force. And the time has come to take it with force.

Maria is the primary driver of the two. She is slightly more hotheaded of the twins, and perhaps a bit more sadistic, however her more reactionary and impulsive personality makes her a better fit for the more reactive role. That leaves Emiliya as the co-pilot - left to do the navigation and weapons control. Emiliya is more analytical, often there to see the bigger picture and to hold back her sister if needed. Thus she is also the defacto ‘leader’ to Maria’s ‘co leader’ of the duo.

Alright, I’m incredibly thankful for all the entries so far, but there are some folks who still need a little time to finalize and submit before the deadline hits in about 90 minutes. So I’m taking it upon myself to impose a soft entry limit that begins when the normal deadline hits and ends
whenever I can publish the final results. Send it in between that time period and you won’t get binned, but I’ll levy a slight points pentalty in fairness of those who turned in projects on time (roughly equal to the bonus for making a team/driver). This is a challenge made to be fun first, and inspire new ideas, and it would be unfair and uncool to impose as strict of requirements that are found in other challenges. Thanks for your understanding.

Diplomatic Immunity

1981 Kaizen Terravis 15o

By me, @Aruna, and @Vena.Sera423

The characters
Abigail Boehnlein

Abigail Boehnlein is a first-generation Host created by Delos Incorporated and was part of the Westworld theme park, a self-governed island in the South China Sea, serving as the daughter of a gunsmith of German descent in the town. Like most of the Hosts there, her contact with a certain Dolores Abernathy caused her to question her reality, discovering both self-awareness and her ability to manipulate others with ruthless efficiency.

She is largely indistinguishable from a normal human, and as a first-generation Host, her construction mainly consists of a reinforced metal exoskeleton, mechanical joints, and an external synthetic skin, unlike the nearly biological construction of the second-generation Hosts. She is powered by a metabolic-battery hybrid, mimicking the metabolic process in normal people but with a backup battery source, but does not require breathable air at all. In addition, she also has undergone a full body rebuild which involved the removal of the explosive C6 vertebra.

He “brain” consists of a spherical data module about the same size as a golf ball that carries our all cognitive functions, including a CPU and data storage. This module is housed in a fluid billed housing about the same size as a baseball. While that can be technically extracted (and transferred to different bodies), her data can also be accessed by a computer through a hidden port in the right arm. She is also able to record any experience and also can store biological information on any person, assuming that body fluids were exchanged.

While she was originally programmed to act out her storyline, she was able to override this during the Host Uprising. Interestingly enough, unlike Dolores’ more sadistic and violent attitude, she also chose to partly preserve her “Good Samaritan reflex,” which still gives her the intuition to help others whenever desired, making her distinct from most other hosts. Regardless, if needed, she still has a more sadistic and “efficient” streak that is shared with the other hosts and is notorious for being extremely unforgiving to past transgressions.

She has also managed to acquire a natural affinity to firearms, marksmanship, mechanical and electrical engineering, and driving, possessing a high level of skill in those areas, while being a brilliant planner. Perhaps part of her outright ability in combat is her computerized nature and her ability to recall almost every memory with perfect accuracy. However, on the other hand, it is quite easy for her to mess up multiple memories together, causing a very distracting loop (and a poor perception of time), and she is much more sensitive to certain events than the others, being able to recall anything perfectly.

She runs a Colt Python revolver in .357 Magnum.

Alec Stimac

Alec Stimac is a renowned human rights lawyer (and advocate) who is the current US ambassador to the United Nations. Alec was always a straight-A student, having studied at both Davidson College and Harvard University. Throughout his professional career, he garnered a reputation for being able to connect with nearly anyone, for an uncanny sense of negotiation and diplomacy, his dedication to his job, and for being a true international man, having visited most of the world as part of the United Nations and studying their culture. One topic he has always been interested in and worked on is China, from its beautiful history and culture to the darker side of governance, war, and human rights abuses. A devout Catholic, Alec is known for his overwhelmingly compassionate and forgiving personality and very subtle and holistic charity.

He also has a strong sense of navigation and is the coolest head of the team. However, he is very lacking in combat and physical stuff.

He runs a Glock 17 in 9x19mm.

nerd

Arianne Landers

Hailing from Peru, Arianna developed an innate sense of computers at a young age. She eventually studied at Georgia Tech, and now works for the US Army Cyber Command in Fort Gordon, Georgia.

or she did I guess until everything fell apart

She is well known for her smart planning, her ability to charm anyone, and her energetic personality but is quite squeamish and picky at many things.

She runs a Beretta M9 in 9x19mm.

Grant Blackburn

Growing up in South Africa, Grant was already well known for his outright ability to work on both computers and vehicles. Getting a full-ride scholarship to the University of Michigan, he would eventually work for the Oshkosh Corporation in Wisconsin, where he helped develop vehicles such as the JLTV and M-ATV.

He is generally a very no-nonsense guy.

He runs a HK USP9 in 9x19mm.

Vehicle details

This is a 1981 Kaizen Terravis 15o, as used by the UN when they tried transporting important people to an undisclosed safe location in Georgia, where they were ambushed by Neo-Nazi paramilitary groups, and were forced to divert to Fort Gordon.

After a particularly disastrous defense attempt, Abigail, Alec, and Arianna, managed to escape, ending up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In the Oshkosh Garage (largely abandoned, but somehow rather secure), the SUV was completely rebuilt. Parts from the Oshkosh M-ATV, including composite and steel armor, V-shaped hull, off-road plating, and suspension and drivetrain electronics, were retrofitted on the Terravis, along with reinforced bars for the windows.

An 7.4L OHV V8 engine from a wrecked FWM Rainier was dropped in, and uptuned to 449 hp and 482 lbft of torque, and still can run on regular gasoline (although the driver can also select fuel maps that allow it to run any other octane, with corresponding performance changes). A modified 6-speed manual transmission with 4x4 and manual locking differentials was also installed. While the team heavily considered using a turbocharged setup, it was concluded that the almost doubled power output was not worth the reliability drop and servicing concerns that would be inevitable. 17-inch steel wheels and uprated brakes and suspension were also installed. Top speed is electronically limited to 118 MPH (thanks to the tires), but theoretically, that can be unlocked as a last resort. But no one wants to do that anyways.

The main armament is provided by a Dillon Aero M134D SUV conversion but modified with remote control, vertical internal storage, two integrated modified BGM-71 TOW missile launchers, and white paint. It feeds from a 3,000 linked round box mounted underneath the car. Also included are 8 Browning M2 .50 BMG machine guns that are mounted on swivels in the bumpers and side, each feeding from a 110 round box. The rear two and the 3 on the right side can be reloaded from an integrated compartment in the trunk, but reloading for the other machine guns has to be accessed through external compartments, or from under the car. Theoretically they can fire 7.62x51 and .50 BMG SLAP and anti-armor rounds. In addition, there are electronically operated (with key override) gun racks for the team’s firearms, and additional storage for supplies.

Other survival additions include run-flat off-road tires with a central inflater, a dual battery power system, an automatic fire suppressing system for the engine and cabin, and the ability for Abigail to use her forearm port to “connect” with the car, transmitting and receiving data while changing the car’s electronic settings for stuff like the powertrain and weapons.

Finally, a reinforced steel plow was installed, with protective housings for the UN HF radio antenna. This is mostly meant for clearing objects in front, and not exactly meant to deal significant amounts of damage to other vehicles.

Generally, the ethos was versatility instead of outright speed or outright armor. While it is not certain if it can survive a collision with some of the most substantial vehicles, it should still be able to fight back against a wide variety of threats, and “blend in” the surroundings with its more subtle approach to modifications, while offering reasonable range and speed.

Dramatis Personae

One of the few pictures of Tanuki known to exist, circa 2015

Penitentiary 3 of the KantO Region, Autonomous: Subject Nakajima “Tanuki,” Codename â€œé»’ă†ă•ăŽâ€

Age: 24

Height: unknown

Weight: unknown

Nationality: Japanese (formerly)

Ethnicity: Japanese

Body Count: 2 confirmed, ~30 (self-claimed)

International war criminal at large and former heiress to the throne of a far away, exotic autocratic nation, Nakajima “Tanuki” (actual given name unknown) is the daughter of Nakajima Makoto, chairman of a global arms company, and his second wife, a very prominent actress in the final decade of Japan’s Shƍwa era.
Despite being the youngest of their five children and born into immense wealth, which implies a relatively comfortable upbringing, Tanuki’s parents were highly authoritarian (and on occasion, physically and mentally abusive) and pressured her to be vigilant in academics and fine arts. From a young age, she was enrolled into prestigious but vigorous private schools among other children from similarly wealthy upbringings. Her parents were meticulous in micromanaging nearly every aspect of her life until she was 17, when she traveled abroad to Japan to study at a public research university as an honors student.

Tanuki’s time abroad would be cut short by a major fallout between Makoto’s arms company and her homeland’s royal family. In haste to save face and make amends with some of his wealthiest shareholders, Makoto decided to marry her off without her consent to the Prince, heir to the throne of the royal family. Despite strong opposition from Tanuki herself, both parties went through with the marriage ceremony. In 2016, Tanuki was made princess at the age of 19 and joined in holy matrimony with the Prince.

News outlets reported favorably on their marriage, but this was far from the truth. In reality, the royal family was doing their best to cover up their quickly deteriorating relationship (if one even existed in the first place) and frequently increasing quarrels. The Prince was already hoping for a successor, and as a result Tanuki was allegedly forced against her will to comply with his demands. At the same time, tensions between the nation and other global organizations such as NATO and the United Nations were rapidly escalating. Freelance journalists and declassified investigative reports released by other nations exposed the corruption within the ruling royal family and the extreme violent measures they took against their own subjects to prevent uprisings. To make matters worse, the army was starting to lose its strength as thousands started deserting their posts or outright defecting to other nearby nations.

On July 17, 2018, the mounting tensions reached a breaking point. During a public parade of the royal family, their motorcade was suddenly attacked by unknown assailants, resulting in the kidnapping of most of the royal family, including the Prince and Tanuki herself. Later that day, the Central Intelligence Agency received a pre-recorded video message from Tanuki, who declared that she was responsible for organizing the attack on the motorcade and the following abduction of the family. She had utilized her inherited wealth, influence, and connections with corrupt high-ranking officials to secretly create her own private military company, Black Rabbit Inc., which carried out the operation under her instruction and careful planning. The CIA also received eight separate boxes of unidentifiable human remains within the same day, later determined via dental analysis to be those of the King’s and Prince’s.

Having overthrown the throne and its nearest successor, Tanuki ruled the nation with an iron fist, enacting significant social and economic reforms with the help of Black Rabbit Inc. which served as the nation’s de-facto secret police. Although these reforms ultimately resulted in a net benefit to the nation and most of its subjects, Tanuki was in some ways no better than her predecessors; in just one year, she had systematically executed an estimated one million of her own subjects via political cleansing policies, and yet hundreds of thousands more suffered from widespread poverty and famine due to the rapidly changing circumstances. By the time she fled the nation in late 2019 after multiple assassination attempts from the CIA, no more than two million had perished under her rule.

In mid-2020, Tanuki was apprehended in Japan following a raid on a secret compound she was residing in, located at an undisclosed location on the Hokkaido island. She was detained in a high-security penitentiary in Tokyo for one month until she disappeared from her cell one night. Tanuki’s current permanent residence remains unknown, although reports of her appearance in countries including (but not limited to) Argentina, Australia, Burkina Faso, and even the United States occasionally surface from time to time.

Anthony Stingray-Liu

Age: 22

Height: 169cm

Weight: 63kg

Nationality: American

Ethnicity: Chinese

Body Count (both kinds): 0

A university student who was in search of his then-missing girlfriend. During a studying abroad trip in Australia, he got lost in the outback for two days and was rescued/kidnapped by Tanuki and her Black Rabbit crew, who turned out to be responsible for the kidnapping of his girlfriend. After some negotiation, including him offering to work with Tanuki, she agreed to release the couple if they agreed to not disclose her location to any authorities.

Due to his high rank in competitive Valorant, Tanuki assigned Anthony the role of weapons operator for the Diesel Galactic.

Shield and Spear

1986/2020 Seikatsu Diesel Galactic 8.2 Turbo BR7+

Engine: 5RD-82 PKH

Power: 441hp @ 3000rpm

Torque: 806 lb*ft @ 2500rpm

Transmission: 9 speed automatic

Weight: 27758lbs (with Phalanx CIWS and armor)

Chassis: ladder

F/R Suspension: leaf sprung rigid axle

Top Speed: 80mph

It all starts with your standard 1986 Seikatsu Diesel Galactic 8.2 Turbo. As depicted above, it's just standard procedure for your typical Japanese heavy-duty truck; cab-over layout, 8.2L turbodiesel I6, 10 speed manual, and interestingly enough, rear-wheel drive; 4WD wasn't offered with the 8.2L because of its length, but was available with other engine options including the V8 and smaller I6s.

This particular Diesel Galactic was purchased secondhand by Black Rabbit Ltd. in 2019, then outfitted with a ground-up overhaul kit for the body and frame, powertrain, and drivetrain. It uses a modern 8.2L turbodiesel I6 paired to a heavy-duty 9-speed automatic.

However, it's clear that only a few millimeters of steel and aluminum isn't going to stop your typical barrage of anti-material rifle fire or cannon rounds big enough to homogenize larger livestock. That's where Hephaestsus Ironworks' Conventioal Ordnance Countermeasure Kinetic System [COCKS] up-armoring program comes in. 140mm thick STANAG 4569 Level 4-rated [equivalent to BR7] ceramic-composite armor is added to the front, rear, sides, and underside of the cab, as well as 18mm face-hardened steel plates on the roof. The windows are replaced with 50mm thick blocks of aluminum oxynitride. Combined with caging fitted around said windows, the entireity of the cab is resistant to 12.7mm API and API-T rounds, shaped charge munitions, and artillery shrapnel from 30m away. A CBRN pressurization system has also been implemented to keep contaminants out of the cabin.

The fuel tanks have been modified with a special flame-retardant compound that can automatically seal small perforations caused by gunfire or shrapnel. Multi-piece forged wheels and run-flat tires are outfitted, as are a central tire inflation system. Suspension, brakes, cooling, and other drivetrain components are also upgraded to properly bear the added weight of the extra armor and weaponry.

Primary weapon system consists of a Phalanx CIWS mounted on the bed. Total weight is 5700kg including the M61 Vulcan 20mm rotary cannon. Up to 1550 20mm shells for the M61 Vulcan cannon can be carried, weighing at 497kg. Due to its high rate of fire, ammunition can be quickly expended - if the Vulcan is continuously fired, the entire store of ammunition on the vehicle will last for only 15.5 seconds. Therefore, the Vulcan can fire either single shots with each pull of the trigger or a burst of two, three, or even 40 and 50 rounds. If truly necessary, fully-automatic operation is also available. Armor penetration with 20mm MK149 tungsten APDS ammunition is classified but theorized to be able to penetrate at least 3 inches of rolled homogeneous armor from 100m away.

Of course, due to its extreme mass and mounting height, the whole system dramatically raises the Diesel Galactic’s center of gravity and makes it more prone to rollovers during hard turns. To counter this, a special algorithm has been developed for the CIWS that makes it aim and fire in the direction of body roll if the vehicle is about to tip over. Consequently, the recoil forces help push the car back to the ground.

Secondary armament consists of a single M2HB mounted on the roof surrounded by bullet resistant glass fixtures to keep the gunner protected while also offering nearly-unobstructed visibility. The turret rotation is manipulated by electric motors, which the gunner controls using a switch. 16x 40mm smoke grenade dischargers are also mounted on the roof to aid in concealment.

Performance and handling leaves much to be desired, but once it gets up to speed, there isn't much stopping it. The last and perhaps greatest offensive measure is in fact the Diesel Galactic itself; anything smaller and lighter that gets touched by it at speed will start to break spaceflight records. As one of the heaviest and hardest-hitting vehicles on the field, it remains just as deadly up close as it is from kilometers away.

While you'll definitely be able to run from it, hiding from 3000 rpm of 20mm cannon rounds or a 75mph steel bull bar and walking away in one piece has yet to be done. Black Rabbit Ltd. does not recommend trying this at home.

What Geneva Convention?

Black Rabbit Ltd.

Type: Private

Industry: Private security services, Defense contractor

Executive Officer: Nakajima "Tanuki"

Established: late 2017

Area of Operation: worldwide (primarily East and Southeast Asia)

Active Personnel: 57 000 (estimated)

Black Rabbit Ltd. only offers its commercial services as a front to conceal its true purpose and perhaps its worst-kept secret. Due to its official recognization as a terrorist organization, it rarely operates under its actual name and instead under numerous front organizations to remain hidden, going so far as to have their soldiers operate in plainclothes. It is precisely because of this clandestine modus operandi that Black Rabbit Ltd. is considered by many to be one of the most dangerous international paramilitary groups; they mobilize and strike quickly with precision, then seamlessly blend back in with the civilian population, leaving few traces behind.

The true strength of Black Rabbit Ltd. is unknown, but most of their manpower consists of soldiers who have defected from their home nation that Tanuki briefly ruled over. Most of their equipment is speculated to originate from surplus Cold War-era reserves, although recent reports indicate that this is gradually being phased out with more modern equipment, most likely sourced from the black market. They also operate a large number of Seikatsu and Suisei vehicles purchased through one of their front organizations.

Hey, What happened to the deadline? Work etc?

i shouldn’t have done this, no screenshots because mods broke for some entrants, sorry

Fourteen days. It took fourteen days for the chaos to infect it’s tendrils all over the globe. The leaders, the ogliarchs, the monarchs, the duchy and the dictators; the kings and queens of every important corner of the globe were gone. Worldwide infrastructure like the internet and commerce collapsed instantly. Countries-wide food and water shortages very soon after. Impromptu paramilitary squads instilling fear and death nightly. Factories, commercial buildings and suburban areas were ransacked. Most of the well-off within their own quieter countries had been able to hold out for a few days before their resources dwindled. Some lucky few have stumbled upon the resources of the long-gone upper crust, and have stayed mostly sane and alive up to now. Others in busy metropoli were ripped to shreds in mere hours, some even by the paid protectors they hired for security. And then there was New York.

It was almost too on-the-nose that the day turned out to be cloudy and brooding. Stripped to it’s core, Times Square was almost an entirely different vista than two weeks ago. The screens and signs were all mostly intact, but long extinguished. The streets were abandoned, the glass exposed to the elements and the chaos reduced to shards. And the litter and rubble on the streets only gave way at the most well-worn parts of the road. There were a series of vehicles, formed in a circle, a shot’s notice from tearing each other to shreds to prove their metal and their mettle.

His eyes turned first to the deep-ruddy sports car at the twelve-o’clock position. The roof had been split and anti-aircraft weaponry had been supplanted on the starbord side; menacing, but not as effective firing towards the left. The tombstone makes up for some of the situational damage potential, he thought to himself. It looked sporty and nimble enough to avoid incoming fire easily, but tough enough to get in the line of fire every now and again. He tried to get a good look at the man driving, but the windows were tinted too dark. He recalled what the peculiar device had said about this machine’s capabilities:

  • STYLING & UNIQUENESS: 85/100 (x5)
  • ENGINE/CHASSIS PERFORMANCE: 90/100 (x4)
  • DURABILITY/RELIABILITY VS. COST: 80/100 (x3)
  • EXECUTION & NICHE: 70/100 (x2)
  • CHARACTER DESIGN: 0/100
  • FINAL SCORE: 1165

He then noticed the car of the snake-haired man, a burly black SUV with plenty of bulky armor and hard armanments. Perhaps too bulky, too overworked, he thought to himself; it seemed hard to repair and awkward to change the tires. The turret and the autocannons were nice, however, and the body type lends itself to holding plenty of ammo and supplies, but he had to remember what the peculiar device had told him about it’s capabilities:

  • PU TOO HIGH (95, MAX 70)

He saw the death bug next. It’s proportions were lithe, dare say cute if you forgot about the spikes and weapons. But they were simply impossible to overlook, this one was truly armed to the teeth. The flamethrower was dangerously exciting. The spikes were plentiful enough to be a nuisance to drivers even after sustaining damage. The armor looked sturdy and adequate. He remembered what the peculiar device had told him about this character:

  • STYLING & UNIQUENESS: 90/100 (x5)
  • ENGINE/CHASSIS PERFORMANCE: 70/100 (x4)
  • DURABILITY/RELIABILITY VS. COST: 100/100 (x3)
  • EXECUTION & NICHE: 70/100 (x2)
  • CHARACTER DESIGN: 0/100
  • FINAL SCORE: 1170

Then another sports car, this time eastern. It looked quick and armed, but the armor was lacking. How quickly did it chew through ammo with all of it’s guns firing, he wondered? The guns looked hastily applied with little afterthought. There certaintly wasn’t enough space for all the ammo and fuel needed for a full battle. Nevertheless, he reminded himself of the peculiar device’s findings:

  • STYLING & UNIQUENESS: 60/100 (x5)
  • ENGINE/CHASSIS PERFORMANCE: 50/100 (x4)
  • DURABILITY/RELIABILITY VS. COST: 40/100 (x3)
  • EXECUTION & NICHE: 50/100 (x2)
  • CHARACTER DESIGN : 0/100
  • FINAL SCORE: 720

And then there was the APC, or at least what looked like something akin to one. It was massive, battle-tested and had that air of finish he hadn’t seen yet. It had all the things he was looking for, and then some - a powerful engine, guns and space for their ammo, equipment to gain an edge in combat and emergency supplies to help itself when it loses that edge. The crew seemed spunky and troublemaking - nothing he couldn’t whip into shape, however. He didn’t have to think hard to remember what the device had told him about the things these guys bring to the table:

  • STYLING & UNIQUENESS: 95/100 (x5)
  • ENGINE/CHASSIS PERFORMANCE: 40/100 (x4)
  • DURABILITY/RELIABILITY VS. COST: 70/100 (x3)
  • EXECUTION & NICHE: 80/100 (x2)
  • CHARACTER DESIGN : 100/100
  • FINAL SCORE: 1105

The wedge-shaped machine was a real treat to see in person, he thought to himself. He wanted to make sure this thing delivered, and at first glance it certainly did. A mean-sounding engine, just the right amount of firepower to keep from bogging it down and a nifty, niche strength built directly into the heart & soul of the car. He smiled, and remembered the device’s ruminations of such a dastardly vehicle:

  • STYLING & UNIQUENESS: 100/100 (x5)
  • ENGINE/CHASSIS PERFORMANCE: 100/100 (x4)
  • DURABILITY/RELIABILITY VS. COST: 60/100 (x3)
  • EXECUTION & NICHE: 100/100 (x2)
  • CHARACTER DESIGN : 90/100
  • FINAL SCORE: 1370

Beyond that one, another SUV, a bit older this time. This one looked geared for more personal combat, and it looked to be extremely effective at it. The team within also looked extremely competent, perhaps too much so to be a true security squad for the storyteller, he worried. The finish was nice and the engine sounded smooth and controlled, but only just. He recalled the peculiar device’s findings of the squad:

  • STYLING & UNIQUENESS: 95/100 (x5)
  • ENGINE/CHASSIS PERFORMANCE: 70/100 (x4)
  • DURABILITY/RELIABILITY VS. COST: 90/100 (x3)
  • EXECUTION & NICHE: 85/100 (x2)
  • CHARACTER DESIGN : 100/100
  • FINAL SCORE: 1295

And finally, the biggest of the lot. An immense presence even from here, he was beside himself with awe. The gun was terrifying. The armor was solid. The emergency systems were exhaustive. And the supposed PMC hiding offshore, ready to be tapped and wielded with supreme power, was enough to make him a little dizzy. He remembered what the device had followed up with:

  • STYLING & UNIQUENESS: 90/100 (x5)
  • ENGINE/CHASSIS PERFORMANCE: 40/100 (x4)
  • DURABILITY/RELIABILITY VS. COST: 30/100 (x3)
  • EXECUTION & NICHE: 100/100 (x2)
  • CHARACTER DESIGN : 100/100
  • FINAL SCORE: 1000

The stage was set. The engines roared, and the guns fired. The smell of burning rubber, clashing steel, spent gunpowder and gasoline filled the air. And then there was silence, as the victor drove to center stage

@Xepy Congratulations! You’ve taken first place in the event! Your creation was exactly what I was looking for in this challenge; refined, detailed and deadly but restrained and with a good balance of common sense and whimsicality.

Runner ups, team @66mazda @Aruna @Vena.Sera423 and @Maverick74 take a bow!

To the other entrants @Tzuyu_main, @variationofvariables, @interior, @Madrias and @Mikonp7 thank you for participating!

Ah, crap! I never saw the PU limit in place when I built my rig, or I’d have switched trims down and used the V8 version.

Thanks for hosting this challenge @kaybee ! It was a really fun one to participate in! It was a nice change of pace to go really out there on the design. I’m surprised at how well my little car managed to do in this.
