SYNOPSIS
Hatsune Miku: Project SoundTrack is an arcade, time-trial based racing title - focused on tight, consistent driving mechanics, staying in-tune to rhythm and an in depth track creator for players to both compete and create in.
Currently, the studio is looking into new and fresh ideas for their next installment of Project SoundTrack, both in vehicle, sound and environmental design.
While the actual environmental and sound work will be done by another team, your job will be to be to supply the vehicle design and the environment it should be driven and raced in.

PRIORITIES
-
Vehicle Aesthetic
As the game has no modification for the vehicles, but is what the game revolves around, the design should be highly distinctive and visually appealing. Liveries are encouraged to help with the visual appeal and the racing aesthetic. Tying in VOCALOID characters to your entries also help to connect a rhythm game impression. -
Environment Choice
The environment and vehicle must suit each other, with ideas on the different types of roads and terrains the vehicle will go on heavily encouraged. -
Creativity
Interesting ideas that make for a fitting twist on both the vehicle and environment is encouraged. This can vary from mild transformations on the vehicle under certain conditions, or different types of roads and terrain within the environment to mix up the gameplay. Seeing as Project SoundTrack is a Hatsune Miku game, implementation of the various VOCALOID characters into your entries is also important here. -
Vehicle Handling Characteristics
Engineering will purely be judged as an example of how the vehicle will handle. Too slow and it will make for a boring game, too fast and it will be too difficult to pick up and play. Stats that will be judged: Drivability, Sportiness, Offroad, Performance Figures and handling graphs. Engine choice will define how the vehicle sounds in the game.
INSPIRATIONS
There are many ways to approach this. Neither will be necessarily wrong or right, but we as hosts are human and have our individual biases. The key is to enjoy yourself, get in a rhythm, and remember; we’re all doing this for fun!
In terms of both the vehicle and the environment, you could get some ideas from the main inspiration for the challenge itself, Trackmania;
Or even WipEout/F-Zero if you’re feeling a particular disdain for touching the ground;
And of course, the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series, where you can take inspiration for environments through the stages, or for vehicle designs through the characters and songs;
