Engineering WON’T be judged

I´m not familiar with the side markers, some of the inspiration cars had these amber reflectives on the sides, is that what is not allowed or its something else?

What i mean with no sidemarkers is that there shoudn’t be any actual alluminated lights on the side (amber at the front, red at the rear), you are allowed to have reflective parts at the side as long as they don’t turn on

Does that include these? For example I think all of the FD’s had them. They only blink on the turn signal, and do not turn on with the running lights.

Yeah JDM requires a front side signal (seems legal whether on corner or rear portion of fender) and also some models just reuse a USDM component I’ve noticed, leading to non-required amber reflectors also being present. (Some that never even made it stateside also do it, for some mystery reason…)

Additionally while I can’t verify the actual requirements, there seems to be something mandating front-facing marker lamps (not headlights, but clear glowing towards the corners) — but I have been unable to locate any official sources listing this information, so it’s all trend-based guesswork. One of these days I’ll find an actual source on it…

Probably not as much of a big deal given it’s all a game though, lol

ah those are the side indicators lol, those are indeed required on your car (check the post above this one) and also those front facing marker lamps are not required

Sanada Yurei VR4

Tokyo by day moves in rhythm. Calm. Predictable. The Sanada Yurei VR4 blends into the city’s pulse - clean lines, factory finish, quiet confidence. But beneath the calm exterior lies potential — a V6 heart waiting to wake, a spirit not yet tested.

Sanada Spectre 4

When the sun sets, Tokyo changes. The city exhales. Neon cuts through the fog, and the Yurei sheds its disguise, becoming the Spectre4. Carbon fiber replaces steel, white LEDs pierce the dark, and the streets come alive to the howl of turbochargers. What began as a sports commuter car becomes the ghost of the expressway, haunting every mirror.

'91 Katami Acolyte GT & '05 Katami Acolyte GT "Mach 3"

'91 Katami Acolyte GT

Katami’s Acolyte is your run of the mill grocery-getter mobile. However, with the influx of hot hatchbacks throughout the world from straight 4 engines all the way to a V6 motor. However, the Katami Acolyte GT is not one of those “typical cars” since it features a mighty 1 liter DOHC turbo straight 3 under the hood making a whopping 100 horsepower.
Might not sound much but weighing in at less than 1000 kg and FWD it makes it fun to drive around the mountain pass.

Due to how cheap the Acolyte GT is and how easy to modify it sharing parts from the more expensive Katami Identity and the Masamune. They’re an easy way to get started in the automotive tuner world.

'05 Katami Acolyte GT "Mach 3"

Katami’s entry level vehicle turned to the max!

Where the original Katami Acolyte was a more sporty hot hatch the “Mach 3” is the ultimate track weapon.

Under the hood the 3 cylinder turbocharged engine has been bored and stroked to 1.2 Liters producing 200+ horsepower to the wheels while being sub 900 kilograms no thanks to it’s carbon fiber hood and rear trunk, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. Semi-slicks all around and air suspension make it easier to keep all that power down to the wheels especially down the C1 loop.

Exterior wise the Acolyte also features a “Kanjozoku” style body kit, sportier brakes and a livery inspired by a popular Hollywood film that features tuner cars.

1985 Larroque Durace TX

The quintessential French 80s Rep-Mobile, Slow, Slightly quirky styling and with a hint of depression Pre-Baked into the cloth seats. The TX is simply the Middle of the road trim level, for those who don’t want to be seen as a tightarse, but can’t be bothered to pay for the SX’s Body coloured trim.

Still, It was exceedingly popular, selling over 1.3 Million units in it’s regular production life, still to this day being built under license in Kenya and Uzbekistan. It was also briefly sold in Japan thanks to an agreement between Larroque and Kamishura to sell Larroque cars through Kamishura showrooms from ‘85 to ‘87.

1985 Larroque Durace ‘The Mythe’

Evidently, somebody saw potential in the dreary Durace, turning it from a rotbox you’d see hogging the inside lane on the M4 near Maidenhead on a Tuesday Afternoon, into a Modified Beast [Mess]. Complete with Louvres, Mudflaps, Underglow [It does have it] And a Free Parking ticket on the windscreen, among many other changes.

[I can’t design Modified cars at all, So this is probably far closer to a Car you’d see in My Summer Car driving recklessly towards Alivieska at 86mph, rather than a Modified Beast on a Tokyo Expressway]

2001 Bergmann Stadt-Land-Fluss

And its slighty louder offspring

From one of a million to a truely one-of-one

It really only takes a turbo and a banging stereo.

While mostly established in Europe, they manged to grab a serious footing in the Japanese market in the late 90’s. While the first cars rolling of the oversea ferry mostly consited of high-luxury barges, the 2001 generation of the SLF was the first Bergmann to be actually built in Asia.

The SLF was a strategic, rounded addition to the lineup. It delivered a higher-quality vehicle to the segment without costing much more than similar options, leveraging its uncompromising German heritage in the marketing. Most original buyers appreciated the sheer subtlety of this compact yet refined commuter, savoring one of the best rides one could find on a long, winding highway, thanks to decades of experience from the german automaker.

For tuners, it was more about what this hatchback represented. This hatchback became the chosen icon of Euro-tuning style and the MaxPower era. Extremly moulded bodypanels, banging Hi-Fi and the runners high of having no speed limit of the Autobahn.

The Rise of "Golden Ligth"

´00 Kurosake Sunligth (K4)
The Path of Light (Big Lore Warning)

INT. NARITA AIRPORT – 5 P.M

A guy exits baggage claim looking around. A young woman stands off to the side holding a plain cardboard sign that reads “LIGTH” in big marker letters.

YUKIO
You’re Ligth, right? Hope so, because I don’t feel like waiting another hour.

LIGHT
Yeah, that’s me. You’re…?

YUKIO
Yukio. My cousin told me you were coming.
Apparently I’m the “welcome committee.”
Don’t get too excited. I just know the city.

LIGHT
Still, thanks for coming.

YUKIO
Someone had to. Tokyo’s not exactly beginner-friendly, especially if you’re here for… you know. That scene.

LIGHT
Street racing?

YUKIO
No, traditional tea ceremonies.
Yes, street racing. Anyway—Come on, there’s a dealership close by that doesn’t rip off newcomers.
Well… not too much.

EXT. BACK-ALLEY DEALERSHIP – NIGHT

Yukio guides Light through rows of cheap cars.

YUKIO
Just so you know — this isn’t where dreams come true.
It’s where broke racers come to negotiate with reality.

Light spots a white 2000 Kurosake Sunlight.

LIGHT
What about this one?

YUKIO
That’s the base Sunlight. Good car, just not… glamorous.
Most racers chase the Sunlight R.
This is like its responsible older sibling.

LIGHT
Still looks solid. And it’s in a barely good shape if you ask me.

YUKIO:
For what you have in your wallet, it’s the smartest pick. The R versions? People fight over those like it’s gold. But this one… you can grow with it.

LIGHT
I´m looking for something I can grow with.

YUKIO
Then… yeah. This one fits you.

EXT. DAIKOKU FUTO – NIGHT

YUKIO
Rookies usually panic. But you’re calm… why?

LIGHT
Because I’ve been wanting this my whole life. Even losing here would mean something.

YUKIO

I… Feel you…
Just remember: this crowd respects skill, not talk. Drive clean. Learn fast.

YUKIO
Not bad. Rough around the edges, but you adapt.
Tokyo likes people who adapt.

LIGHT
I had a good teacher tonight… You race a lot?

YUKIO
Sometimes. I’m still learning.
I just don’t scream about it like the others.

LIGHT
Makes sense.

INT. GARAGE – NIGHT

Kenji circles the Sunlight with a mechanic’s judgmental squint.

KENJI
Base model.
So you want to turn a commuter car into something respectable?

LIGHT
If it can be done, yeah.

KENJI
It can.
But you have to do it in the right order.
Suspension, brakes, then power.

YUKIO
He’s right. People slap on a turbo and then wonder why they can’t turn.

KENJI
It’s not an R, but it can be. Needs suspension, better cooling, and a proper tune. There is a R standing around here, the guy never paid his bill, so it stuck here and we pulled most of what was worth saving.

LIGHT
Could anything from it work on mine?

KENJI
Mm… not much. The good stuff’s long gone.
But—you could take whatever scraps are left. Little things. Brackets, mounts, tires, some engine parts and maybe the sway bar if it isn’t bent. Not performance magic, but it might stiffen the ride, help the handling a bit and give it a little boost. This one is on me, consider it a welcome gift

LIGHT
Seriously?

KENJI
Yeah, But don’t get used to free upgrades. If you really want to be something in this scene, you’re gonna need money. Like, a lot of money. Parts, tires, repairs… everything here eats cash.

EXT. INDUSTRIAL ROADS – NIGHT

OPPONENT
You bringing that base model out here?
Fine. This’ll be fast.

LIGHT
Any advice besides “don’t die”?

YUKIO
Don’t chase him.
He’s fast but impatient. He’ll cook a turn eventually.
Just drive your pace.

LIGHT
You really study these guys, huh?

YUKIO
It’s safer to know what kind of stupid someone might do.

YUKIO
See? Patience. Works better than ego.

LIGHT
I had your notes in my head.

YUKIO
Just don’t let it go to your head.

LIGHT
You racing tonight?

YUKIO
Yeah. Small bracket. Nothing dramatic. See you at Kenji´s

INT. KENJI’S GARAGE – DAY

KENJI
Alright. This is the best this chassis can give without selling your organs.

YUKIO
Okay… I’m impressed. And I don’t say that easily.
You made this thing look like it belongs on the actual grid.

LIGHT
We’ve come a long way.

YUKIO:
So… this is awkward to say, but… you’re getting attention.
A couple of local sponsors asked about you. There’s this magazine that wants new faces. My cousin mentioned you. And me, maybe.

LIGHT:
The two of us?

YUKIO:
Yeah. They noticed your results and… well… I’ve been climbing too. Not like you, but enough.

LIGHT:
You’re underselling yourself. Half of what I’ve done is because you were there.

YUKIO:
Maybe. But the point is… we’re not just beginners anymore. We should make something out of it before the window closes. We cannot afford more parts with only racing wages

LIGHT
You think I’m ready?

YUKIO
I wouldn’t embarrass myself by dragging an unready guy along.
So yes. Come with me.

EXT. ROOFTOP PARKING LOT — NIGHT

LIGHT
Crazy how fast all this happened.

YUKIO
Yeah…
People actually know our names now. Not sure if that’s good or terrifying.

LIGHT
And the Oni Club invitation…

YUKIO
“Invitation.”
More like: prove yourself, and maybe they stop pretending we don’t exist.

YUKIO
Look, Light…
We started together. And I like that. But…
If we want in, we’ll eventually have to race each other. For real. No holding back.

LIGHT
I know.
Does that bother you?

YUKIO
…Yes.
But it also bothers me how much I want this spot.
And how much I don’t want you to disappear from my life if I take it first.
Look… I like racing with you.
I like… having someone around who takes this seriously without acting like a jerk.
But if we want that badge, we have to race each other.
And it’s not going to feel good for whoever loses.

LIGHT
I don’t want things to get weird between us.

YUKIO
It already is weird.
But weird doesn’t mean bad.
It just means we care about the outcome… maybe too much.

EXT. MOUNTAIN PASS — DAWN

YUKIO
Whatever happens…
I’m glad it’s you on the other lane.

LIGHT
Same.
But I’m not going easy.

YUKIO
Good. I’d hate that.
