I installed the demo and I can’t start a campaign, I can chose only one of the many bodies available… is that normal please?

Yes, that is normal. The demo is just there to give you a quick taste of what the design aspects of the full game will be like. Mind you, there is no campaign or multiplayer in the current “full version” yet, either.
