É T H O S

A legend reborn - the front engined Ansel GT car. The Éthos is the first Ansel model to be built on our brand new Kinesthesium platform - balancing strength and weight savings through a glued and bonded aluminum monocoque with titanium subframes for the engine and rear suspension, allowing for an improvement of 45% torsional rigidity and 35% less weight than our outgoing front-engine platform. The Éthos also has aluminum and carbo-titanium body panels, reducing the total weight of all removable exterior panels by over 30%, while retaining increased structural rigidity.

The Éthos is also the first Ansel model to recieve our new 4C-Elastic Chassis Control system, sporting advanced 48-volt dampers, 2-stage air springs and no anti-roll-bars. Powered off of the hybrid-electric 400V architecture, these dampers allow for independent control of body pitch and body roll on each individual wheel, allowing the Éthos to ‘lean’ into corners to accelerate through them faster, and pitch up under hard acceleration to even out the Éthos’s body height, improving stability - and it can lean down under more typical driving scenarios, improving aerodynamic efficiency and fuel economy. Additionally, all Éthos models feature standard rear-wheel steering, allowing up to 10 degrees of steering axis, and come standard with weight-saving carbon fiber wheels in 20’‘/21’’ front and rear.

Powering the Éthos is an all-new, ground-up designed 4.4 litre twin-turbocharged 90-degree V10, producing 691 horsepower and 536 pounds-feet of torque alone - but it doesn’t end there - the Éthos’s internal combustion engine is further aided by 3 custom-designed raxial-flux electric motors, one on each front wheel and one placed between the in-house designed 8-speed twin clutch transmission and the combustion engine. Joined with a 12-kWh battery pack mounted within the centre of the chassis, total system output is 825 horsepower and 738 pounds-feet of torque. This allows the Éthos to accelerate to 62 miles per hour in 2.2 seconds, onto a top speed of 225 miles per hour. The quarter-mile is dispatched in under 10 seconds, and 186 miles per hour is reached in under 20. Drivers are further serenaded by the Éthos’s V10 rocketing towards its 9,000 RPM redline, sending the noise out through a titanium exhaust system specially developed for the Éthos by Akrapovič - and when you want to tune out the noise, the Éthos can be powered by the electric motors for 20km before depleting the battery.

All Éthos models also come standard with magnetological-damped engine mounts, reducing vibrations and harshness transmitted into the cabin. Stopping is just as important as going at this level, and the Éthos is no slouch, sporting the largest brakes we have ever fitted to a front-engined Ansel - 420mm 6-piston ventilated, cross-drilled and tungsten-carbide coated front brakes, and 415mm 4-piston ventilated, cross-drilled and tungsten-carbide rear brakes. This braking system allows for increased friction, reduced brake dust and better longevity over standard cast iron brakes - while offering similar performance to more expensive carbon ceramic brakes, which remain an option for those who want the most performance out of their Éthos.

The design of the Éthos was hand-crafted to be purposeful and aggressive, with an emphasis on simplified, angular shapes, starting with our single-frame front grille. This grille is designed to route air into the large air to water radiator, and the side portions are designed to route it over the electric motors and brakes, reducing surface temperatures and improving efficiency of both. AIr is also channeled under the car through an advanced undertray, helping to improve total downforce by 15%, and limit aerodynamic drag. Moving up, you’re greeted by our all-new “Bloom” design headlamps, sporting our 3rd generation Active Matrix LED technology, improving visibility by 25%, while reducing glare and improving adaptive mode delay.

The side of the Éthos continues that same purposeful design language, with a single sharp curve running across the length of the Éthos’s bodywork, with a side skirt designed to channel air over the rear brakes and generate additional downforce, all while maintaining visual sharpness and aggression. Moving to the rear design, the Éthos continues the “Bloom” theme with its taillamp design, which also feature our Active Matrix LED technology, following over to a one-touch power liftback, holding the Éthos’s active wing and airbrake. Down from that - the Éthos’s rear diffuser, capable of producing 35% more downforce than the Éthos’s predecessor at top speed, and designed to reduce inefficiency and aerodynamic drag under more typical driving scenarios.

Customization is at the core of what we do, and the Éthos is no different - owners will be able to select from 16 initial shades, consisting of brand new colors (like the Rosé color shift finish on this Éthos), and historic Ansel paints from over 70 years of our history. Trim options are extensive as well, with over 15 possible colors and materials at your fingertips to make your Éthos exactly how you want. However, for those who want more customization - the Éthos is a part of our Bespoke customization program, expanding the color palette to every historic, every finish and every paint from Ansel’s history, and a wider pool of materials and colors to choose from for your exterior trim, all to make your Éthos 1-of-1, and uniquely you.

The cabin of the Éthos has been designed to evoke the low-slung feeling of 70s GT cars of yore, but bringing technology to the level expected of cars today. Drivers have access to a 13.1-inch reconfigurable OLED digital gauge cluster, designed to transmit the most important information to the driver under any scenario. The passenger also has a 13.1-inch OLED digital display in front of them, allowing the passenger to set navigation routes, control media, and see live performance information. In the center, a 12.6-inch OLED center display, with support for wired and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, natural language recognition powered by Google Gemini, and the ability to transfer information from the center to display to either the driver and passenger displays on command. Other interior technology includes a 31-inch heads up display with augmented reality navigation support, reconfigurable ambient lighting, a standard 17-speaker Focal Symphony Audio system with speakers mounted inside the headrests, a digital rear view mirror with Homelink and auto-dimming, and Ansel’s first application of an infrared sensor in the headlining over both passengers, capable of adjusting each climate zone if the driver or a passenger starts to warm up, all in a matter of milliseconds.

Luxury was another priority behind the Éthos’s interior, with both the driver and passenger seats featuring 18-way adjustment, heating, cooling, hot stone massage, and 3-person memory for both sides, in addition to power adjustable pedals, a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel, radiantly heated armrests. Both seats also feature a “Relaxation” setting, which reclines both seats, activates a calming scent from the interior atomizer, puts the displays into a quiet mode, and plays soft, meditative music from the Éthos’s audio system, for the ultimate relaxing experience behind the wheel of an Ansel. The Éthos also features a smorgasbord of high quality materials and touch points, with the extensive use of real, naturally-sourced wood, aluminum, both smooth to the touch and with knurling on interactable controls, like the toggles, drive mode selector, volume dials, climate control knobs, and the scroll wheels on the steering wheel.

Leather of the semi-aniline Nappa variety is featured throughout, as is Alcantara. Of course, customization is core to what we do at Ansel, and the Éthos is no different - the Éthos offers 30 different shades of leather, 12 different Alcantara options, 6 different wood options, 4 different varieties and colors of metal, and 8 different carpet options, and shown on this Éthos is our Sephira Brown and Rich Cream interior, with Bright Sandalwood, Polished Aluminum and Black Aluminum trim. For those who want more customization, the Éthos’s interior is also offered with our Bespoke customization program, allowing owners to provide textile and material samples to help make their Éthos 1-of-1.

Safety technology was another important focus behind the Éthos’s development, and today we’re happy to announce our most advanced ADAS suite ever fitted to an Ansel vehicle - Ansel Protect 3.0. Ansel Protect 3.0 begins with the most extensive camera system fitted to an Ansel vehicle, consisting of 12 cameras placed around the Éthos, allowing for 360 degrees of visibility under any scenario. From there, Ansel Protect 3.0 uses a LiDAR based scanning system front and rear, scanning the road and traffic in front of the Éthos, and whatever is behind it as well. Combined with active ultrasonic sensors placed on each side of the car, Ansel Protect 3.0 is constantly monitoring and scanning the environment around you to protect you and your passenger under any scenario. Ansel Protect 3.0 also contains the typical safety technologies - blind-spot monitoring, lane drift alert and lane departure warning, active lane recentering, front and rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear automatic emergency braking, real-time driver awareness monitoring with automatic emergency stop, traffic sign recognition, and more.

Ansel Protect 3.0’s sensor suite also enables full Level 2 SAE driver autonomy, with a system called Ansel HyperDrive. On supported highways (including most major roadways in North America and Europe; more countries are approving its use and allowing road mapping) HyperDrive is capable of handling acceleration, braking, steering, and changing lanes all independently of the driver. HyperDrive however does require periodic input from the driver, and the driver must remain looking at the road, attentive and ready to take full control of the Éthos when necessary. If those conditions are not met - HyperDrive will disable itself, and if requests for driver input are ignored, or if the driver’s eyes are not detected by the eye tracking sensors, the Éthos will pull itself off to the side of the road when safe, and will contact emergency services.

Other exterior technology includes power-folding and heated mirrors, electronic door releases with safe exit assist (the doors will engage the safety lock if the Éthos’s sensor suite or cameras detect a passing obstacle, such as a bicyclist or oncoming vehicle), heated front and rear windshield, lightweight acoustic glass, an available electrochromic moonroof, Intelligent Access with approach door unlock and walk-away door lock, rain-sensing windshield wipers, LED animations for door lock/unlock, LED puddle lamps, and more.

The Éthos will be available at the end of 2025, with production commencing at our Site 1 manufacturing plant in Molsheim, France - where all Éthos models will be hand-built by skilled Ansel craftsmen. Pricing starts at €231,000, and the Éthos’s configurator is open now for everyone - owners, dreamers, anyone who wants to see their perfect Éthos come to life.

Unquestionably your best attempt at making something based on the ‘95 Outrun mod (in any configuration) - and somehow you made it look appropriate for the mid-2020s, with a beguiling mix of elegance and aggression from every angle.

Os this your first post in one year? Or does this think just suck

Ok, this is cool, the car beatiful, and I appreciate the realistically creative description, but TBH I got bored by the interior part and gave up  Also, those screens seems to be much smaller than ~13" :stuck_out_tongue: I wonder wht else the brand offers?

BTW, the “landscape on mobile” disclaimer can be safely dropped, I viewed it in portrait and nothing looked cropped, always the full car was visible.

currently not a ton, it’s a fairly recent brand and this was the first big complete project i’ve done for it

but thanks for all the kind words lol, and yeah the marketing speak was a little meandering on purpose

In fairness, the Ethos is not your first attempt to take the ‘95 Outrun deep(er) into the 21st century, but it reminds me of the Mastriota 500T you entered in CSR152 - taking a rounded mid-90s body set and reshaping it to the point of attaining unheard-of levels of modern relevancy. In fact, had you entered TMCC36 instead of hosting it, the Ethos would’ve been your most likely choice of entry there.
