As I’ve mentioned before, it was in an attempt to allay my disbelief at other racing simulation games (namely: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed) that I started playing Automation. I wanted to see if it was possible to build cars as supposedly mad as one could find, upgraded, in something at least approaching real life. I found not only was that possible, but it was possible to build things madder still.
So now I’m hoping to repay the favour. I’m hoping to build, from scratch, the cars I’m making in Automation, and slot them in as a original cars alongside what you can get in the garage. This appears to be a rather finnicky process as it involves obtaining a particular version of Shift 2, patching it in a specific way, and then unpacking the files in a specific way to the point where then I can figure out how the hell it all works and what it all means. Not to mention I’ll have to create a 3d model from scratch.
Fortunately, I have some insight into the process by people who know what they’re doing. I’ve only ever really dabbled in making/tweaking some very simple mods in The Elder Scrolls (lol). When it comes to car mods… well hell I dunno.
Does anyone have any experience with a) creating 3D models, b) modding vehicle simulations c) modding NFSS2U? I’m probably being awfully specific, but if you feel you can offer any insight to this modding noob, or recommendations on what tools to use to model and how to go about it, that would be really appreciated!
