[ARM] Automation RestoMod Chapter 15: The Gilded One [DONE]

Sparky T's Superfly Special Cadillac Eldorado

Hello Bill, this is what we are proposing to do with your Cadillac Eldorado. From a mechanical standpoint, we’ve kept it fairly stock, utilizing the factory front wheel drive chassis and double wishbone suspension. We’ve also kept the HT4100 series engine, although it has been punched out to 4.9 litres like the later cars. With the addition of VVT and direct injection, it now makes 287 horsepower and 343 pound feet of torque.

Mated to a modern seven speed automatic and an electric limited slip differential, it’s capable of a quarter mile in under 16 seconds and a top speed of 180mph. With 235/50R18 tires, wire wheel look alloys, electric stability control, adjustable hydropneumatic suspension, and vented discs on all four corners, it doesn’t embarrass itself in the corners or stops either.

As you can likely see, the Cadillac has received some tweaks to the body. The bumpers have been slimmed down, the fenders elongated, custom lights and gold-chrome grill added, and a lovely black and white pearlescent paint job. Oh, and of course it’s now a convertible! Inside you’ll find maroon and white leather seating and doorcards, matching leather dash, digital dashboard, and a touchscreen infotainment center.

We estimate that the cost for this proposal would come out to $61,000 AMU, a grand under your budget. We here at Sparky T’s look forward to your decision for customizing your Caddy. Cheers!

I see a LOT of beautiful cars this round!!..

Kudos to everyone!!

The accuracy, precision, and goodness of the assembly is amazing.

Yours is nice as well. I like how you kept the bumpers and retained the original look while making it look sporty at the same time.

I had a vision of what this car could be and a certain someone( @Prium ) went in the direction I was thinking(Im still going that route). But it wasnt until Lanson posted his that I got motivated to build. Lansons reminds me of a few beautiful GM cars wrapped into one.

And @Maverick74 … damn damn DAMN!!! I like that one. Too Short would be proud.

Mine is coming soon hopefully, most likely with no interior since I started too late.

@Knugcab still cant find that emblem😔

The Eldorado “8-Ball”

Dear M. Young,

We at MTL Customs & Tuning are proud to be of service and submit to you this proposal to restomod your priceless father’s caddy.

While the Eldorado already commanded presence and luxury, the “8-Ball” redesign was made to also bring elegance, showmanship and a bit of sharpness to bring to your company’s parking lot. It is sure to turn a lot of heads around, but it is undeniably still a caddy - a truly unique one.

The sharp two-tone look is based on pool’s 8-ball, but there are also more degrees to it (wink). While the original is blocky and commanding, MTL C&T tried to smooth out the lines, but also add a dash of aggressiveness to them. The rounded front lamps also completes the look - it feel more regal now. The original body was untouched (and still behind the moldings), except for the top sunroof that was added - who would dare drive in Miami without a sunroof?

Now let’s talk engineering. Our plan will take the original engine and bring it to the 21st century! Bored out to 4.9L, with single direct injection, improved timings and VVT, the head was completely swapped out to an aluminum alloy 4-valves SOHC modern design. No turbo here, as it already develops over 350hp and 360 lb-ft of torque! While the engine was silenced to match regulation, it is still a roaring V8!

In addition, the rear suspension was swapped out to a modern multilink, for smooth cruising down Ocean Drive. The FWD provided the smoothest drive, and with a brand new, tight 9-speed automatic transmission with viscous LSD, it drives up to 186 mph and does 0-60 in under 7 seconds, while still being able to burn some rubber at the light.

The wheels have been swapped out to super wide 19 inch rims with smooth 275/45R19 tires. The brakes to slow down this beast are monstruous, but still smooth as butter. An undertray optimizing the under flow makes crusing a charm, and ABS is there to help if you find a rough patch of road. Now, the active suspension system is smooth as butter, made for a nice scenic drive alongside the beach.

Now, how about that luxurious interior. While not completely hand made, we would rip our everything and put in a much more modern and plushy two-tone leather interior with all the amenities you would ever need.

We do hope this proposal excites you and we are guaranteeing that it will impress your coworkers and make you the alpha wolf - you’re definitely not a sheep.

Sincerely,
Everyone at MTL Customs & Tuning

Hello William,

I do hope you’re having a wonderful day. We here at Avion have been touched by your sentiment, and believe that all family ties must be cherished and remembered. Our owner found a personal connection to the story and thus took it upon himself to suggest a modification befitting your situation and surrounding.

William, we present to you the Eldorado by Avion.

A car thrusted into current era while keeping the roots of childhood memories of old american luxury strong. This car is truly the gilded one.
As we were conducting our research, we found it most viable to get rid of the existing powerplant in favor of an Avion 5 litre 380HP naturally aspirated V8. This unit makes ample torque throughout it’s rev range and makes great use of it through a 7-speed automatic, reaching 0-62 in 6.3 seconds and thrusting this land yacht all the way to electronically limited 250km/h.

Our owner felt it appropriate to make a few external modifications to the old, worn down car, without diluting the essence of the original. The grill is gilded and layered with three different materials to create a stately and powerful feel radiating from far away. Light clusters are state of the art, lighting your way safely. Wheels are special units hand crafted to a specific theme of power, luxury and subtlety. Details and engravings are top notch, all done by hand with minimal tolerances. If you do not accept this proposal, you might receive an offer for your car.

But if you accept, you will find yourself in a world of luxury once you step inside. We here at Avion are well known for detailed interior works, highest quality craftsmanship and selective hides. Due to a more performance oriented engine we decided that the bench seat front must go, but left the bench in the rear as was a custom in the land yachts of old.

Behind the wheel you are greeted with modern simplicity and luxury. We at Avion believe that luxury comes from a calm state of mind, and that is achieved through simplicity. Do not fright, as a slew of active safety features and ride controls as well as lavish luxuries are present to make your journeys a breeze.

This package would set you back 57.500AMU
Let us know what you think William. We are here for you.

Kind regards,
Alen
CEO of Avion and a true car enthusiast

Mons Customs

Introducing the

Cadillac Eldorado "Blackout"

Dear Mr. Young,

Please accept this letter as our formal offer to restomod your beloved '82 Cadillac Eldorado. We understand the significance of this car and what it means to you. We have made every attempt to address your needs and desired with this restomod.

STYLING
For the outside of the car we have opted to keep the original Cadillac elegance of the car, but have significantly modernized the features and created a more menacing look. What will catch your eye first is the “Blackout” aesthetic - everything is blacked out. The paint is a rich black flake and the accents are black chrome. We have opted for enhanced cooling for both engine and brakes and made the cooling ports part of the new hood on the car. Speaking of the hood, we have also brought back a Mons Customs staple: the window cut-out, so you can show off the V8 in the engine bay. The lights are swapped to modern projectors and LEDs front and rear. The bumpers are swapped to a more modern look while retaining a classic American cruiser vibe. The mirrors have been swapped for sleek modern fixtures. Lastly, we opted for a more aggressive side-exhaust set-up.

On the inside we have opted to install four seats and all modern amenities laid out in an ergonomic manner.

COMFORT
The Blackout is the epitome of comfort. The ride is made significantly smoother with the help of the new multilink rear suspension, hydropneumatic springs and semi-active sway bars. The entire interior is hand-crafted from the best materials available and specifically moulded to your liking. Luxury HUD entertainment not only provides the best entertainment in the market, but also helps with drivability of the Eldorado.

DRIVABILITY
Speaking of drivability, we went the extra mile to make sure the car is as easy to drive as possible. We already mentioned the new suspension, but there is more. We opted to swap the drivetrain for a modern 6-speed advanced automatic gearbox mated to a smart AWD system, so you can make us of all of the available power at all speeds and on all road surfaces. The brakes are perfectly tuned to make sure this heavy car stops confidently time after time. Last but not least, the car features all latest driving aids, including electric variable power steering and ESC.

PERFORMANCE
After reading all this, you might think “is there anything left on the table for performance, or is this just a lazy luxury barge”? That is a fair question, but fear not Mr. Young. We have opted to keep the original engine, but have significantly retuned it. You will have at your disposal 273 HP usable through a wide and flat power band. This means that all of this power is available through all of your gear shifts, providing not only a smooth, but also fast ride. The car is limited at 250 km/h, but it could go faster. If you so choose, you would also not be put to shame at red lights - the car goes 0-100 in 7.74 seconds and does the 1/4 mile in 15.66.

Mr. Young, I hope you find our proposal intriguing, and we at Mons Customs look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Mons Customs

Are coffee cups included?

Let’s just say it showcases the built-into-dash espresso machine or something. :person_shrugging:

Definitely not hiding something with the cups, don’t look there. :see_no_evil:

The designers at Allure Specialty Works considered themselves lucky to be involved in a challenge like this. Needing an outlet to express themselves even further than the Allure brand itself, this seemed perfect. Not to mention, the owner of the company (Mr. Wells) used to own one at one point in time.

According to Mr. Wells, Cadillacs…or Lacs as he calls them, are some of the coolest cars to be seen in. So when the mission brief came in it was no surprise that the last words before the end of the meeting was “design it like YOU want to be seen in it!!”

We listened. This Eldo is a thourough refresh, in and out. We ditched the classic HT4100 and replaced it with the 32V NorthPoint. No blown headgaskets here!! It’s been completely updated giving out a smooth 340hp routed through a slick shiftng 6spd adv. automatic transmission. The DW suspension stays but has been heavily revised. The interior is fully touchscreen and the Project-E boast all the latest electronic safety goodies.

The envelope was stretched even further when it came to the exterior design. Borrowing cues from previous Cadillac designs and adding our own gracefully bringing this gen Eldorado into current times.

We at ASW present to you the Project-E
