Artct 2007

The ARTCT. America RWD Touring Car Trophy.

A slight play on the Trans-am and DTM ideas, and melding them into one. Pushed on an idea by many american companies to create a series for them to race in during the late 90’s, the FIA created the American RWD Touring Car Trophy or ARTCT. There are five Classes, N/A V8 Sedan, N/A V8 Coupe, Turbo V8 Sedan, and Turbo V8 Coupe, and Turbo V6 Coupe. Companies may enter one car in two of the classes. If a company enters in the N/A S and N/A C, they must use the same engine, and if a company enters in the N/A C and Turbo C, they must use the same body. Must be made on Steam, Please. Text in RED are rules that are of extreme importance

Low friction cast??? Why? Do you mean lightweight forged?

Why so restrictive?

For a somewhat even competition.

Nope >:)

Oh god, one thing is to have an even challenge, the other is to have something that absolutely kills any chance of having fun. Low friction cast are shit for racing engines, this will fuck up the reliability and thus kill the possible uses of the engine.

There are better ways of restricting a challenge, no quality on tyres, strict cost limits, maximum power, minimum weight or a maximum power/weight are a few of them.

Based off of that, I’ll remove any piston/conrod/crank restrictions, and maybe open a V6 Turbo Coupe class.
