Aruna's Workshop Thumbnail Contest 1 (Reviews in progress)

Aruna’s Workshop Thumbnail Contest 1

Scenario

This is the first time I’ve held a contest for the Steam workshop thumbnail image, I hope it can breathe some more life into the forums and be a good way of crediting the creators here whilst showcasing my body mod rather than doing my own version for showcase as usual.

The basis is: I’m looking for a superb build to showcase my new body on the workshop! Feel free to go crazy with the body, but maintain the shape so that it is easily identifiable.

Tahara '12 “Real Big” Stretch Limousine Steam Workshop Page

Rules

  • Game version: Any

  • Body: Tahara '12 XXLWB or/and “Real Big” Stretch Limousine

  • Trim & Variant year: 2012 and above

  • What I am looking for: Designs done using XXLWB or Stretch Limo Tahara '12 body (One or both if you wish!)

  • You may create your own images (Maximum of 3 per wheelbase for total of 6 at most) within Automation which I may choose or I will create one with the winning cars. (Keep it simple! It will be used for a thumbnail/showcase, good lighting and display showcasing the body and design will be highly favoured! If you are unsure how I mean, check the recent body mod thumbnails I have done to the workshop.)

  • A post with your build showcased which would fit a basic thumbnail style (Generally I like to use the front and rear 3/4 of the car to best showcase the shape)

  • Interior is not required, but I would admire it for the stretch limousine!

Engineering is irrelevant (as long as the trim and variant years are both set to 2012 and later) - it’s the aesthetics that counts here.

I’m a bit late since the entries have opened on the 8th but entries now open! Good luck and I hope to see what you come up with! :sparkles:

Somebody has to be the first, right?
So here is mine:

The Halo (E)ULS

Only the XXLWB as this body seems more natural to me and also this is the EV variant due to the V12 variant having bigger intakes which don’t flow into the design of the car that nicely.

2026 Tiāntáng 620 Pullman

A range extender EV, executive luxury saloon, with complete and total focus on rear passenger comfort. The rear compartment can be fully isolated, with curtains and a lowering partition, which happens to function as a Smart TV with 5G connectivity. Other luxury features include reclining seats, adjustable leg rests, retractable tables and a starlight roof. Standing at a staggering 6.07 metres long, rear comfort and legroom are all but assured.

A little over two hours left to submit your builds! Since we have only two for XXLWB only, I think I may consider extending for another week for Limo or both, thoughts?

I have extended the deadline until the 1st of March for both thumbnails, hope to see more entries!

Small update as well, I will update the rules of the contest to allow for use of Al Rima as long as thumbnail pics are done in fashion required it should not matter the car file needed :muscle:

The 2023 McMurphy Zero, also known as “The Vault” is the safest vehicle ever produced, offering loads of luxury and protection for the VIP.

For the safest vehicle on the earth (other than the driving Fort Knox I made once…) It looks pretty darn good!

The contest is officially closed, I will do my best for a quick turnaround this weekend (likely tomorrow) :+1:

AWTC1 Reviews

Halo (E)ULS by @mo09 (XXLWB)

A very nice and smooth design that works around the body lines really smartly! The two-tone trim on roof and lower body accent the design well and invoke a bit of regality especially with the gold colour. I’m a fan of the simple but impactful shapes and lines that the headlights and taillights provide, with the front and rear light bars being a sweet touch. It makes sense with the lack of grille due to it being an EV, but there is definitely enough on there that makes it a standout design. The photos are also perfectly placed for thumbnail images providing the right amount of display for the body and design. Overall superb!

This design also does a really super job of conforming to the shape of the car, very long lines on the front and rear lights provide quite an imposing air of elegance and luxury similarly to the Halo (E)ULS, both also having the EV styling which surprisingly suits the car well! I really like the hexagonal grille element with decreasing in size towards the centre, it’s really eye-catching, and paired with the two-tone again making a very high-class feel to the car, it doesn’t just stop there either… On the inside the rear passenger seating area feels like being in a mansion house living room! There is a Smart TV with 5G, luxurious recliner chairs and classy tables with a glossy wooden finish and then the sparkling starlight roof is truly awesome. The images provided display the body and design well! Amazing design all-together!

The only entry to use the “Real Big” Stretch Limousine, therefore wins that category by default (A good feeling to have no doubt lol). The first entry to have a Gasmean delegate/embassy car style to it, very suitable considering the size of the vehicle (I remember creating an embassy car for LHC, fun times). It is quite a bulky car in the sense of styling with a mass lathering of chrome which give it a bit of a throwback style to the 60’s/70’s, I wouldn’t know the word to describe it other than “Retro-Styling.” I think the brown paint also helps it with the retro-styling appeal. The exterior is a little overwhelming at first, and I feel like the headlights area could have maybe been wider towards the arches to better fill the space (or perhaps some moulding/shaping there?). The rear licence place could be more sunk in, such as most real world cars have an indent for them (although I suppose it goes with the retro-styling). The images provided also do an okay job of displaying the body, though I feel the photo scene might not be the most ideal as there is a lot of background elements going on. Other than my criticisms, it does do a good job! It’s got that road presence of a bulking SUV but being a stretch limo instead, with about 2 ton of chrome on top to dazzle all the other traffic in style!

The second entry with delegate/embassy styling, this time American: :hamburger: :muscle: :eagle: :us: (lol). It has a really imposing design with that huge front grille filled by chrome blocks in a very nice pattern, which then goes on to the flow-following lights and huge DRLs which give it huge road presence such as the Meunier LWB X10 does too! The chunky tyres and smaller wheels (though I still bet they’re at least 18" wheels!) give it an even bigger visual aesthetic in terms of making the contrast between the size of the body to rim ratio (Personally would have had slightly larger diameter rims here but I feel like that is nit-picky). The rear similarly flows with the front’s light design featuring a high arcing taillight which looks sweet. In the additional images the small blue emergency lights are a nice touch too! I feel like “The Vault” does a good job with the right amount of chrome for a modern application, and feels very much VIP in doing so. The images provided do a nice job at displacing the design & body, with the blur to background aiding it more-so than the previous. Very good design overall!

Results

First of all I want to thank you all for entering! I did not receive too many entries, somewhat to be expected, as super long wheelbase cars and stretch limos are quite intimidating to make a good design on. Anyway, onto the results:

XXLWB results:

1st: @the-chowi with their 2026 Tiāntáng 620 Pullman!
2nd: @CrazyCat808 with their 2023 McMurphy Zero “The Vault”!
3rd: @mo09 with their Halo (E)ULS!

“Real Big” Stretch Limousine results:

1st: @Ch_Flash with their Meunier LWB X10!

Congratulations to everyone! I had actually planned to do the thumbnail photos of the top 3 winners, and so everyone who entered will be featured in the order of their ranking!

I am happy with the contest and appreciate all the entries hard work and effort, as well as those who planned to enter but did not! It is likely for my next mod (unclear as of yet), I will hold another thumbnail contest. Until then, thank you very much and have a great day/night!

P.S. If anyone knows how to big brain CSS formatting to remove the stupid grey box around the drop-down images tab, I would appreciate it!

Congrats to everyone, and thanks to Aruna for hosting!

What I do is make a division with white text, so it’s at least readable.
