Time to head back to the golden age of touring cars!
Rules so far
Class 1:
Under 1500cc
under 60 overall prod units
no V engines
Class 2:
Over 1500cc
under 75 overall prod units
any type of engine
General rules:
No Negative sliders
Hard tyres
no convertable/ 2 seater bodies
this is a very basic idea of what i have in mind.
races will be short format 30 min races. so no pit stops.
i would love to hear your thoughts on this so i can really shape this into a great series.

Ooooh! This sounds good. Couple of ideas:
- I’d be tempted to do a pracitce/test round to see how closely matched the two Classes are. If they aren’t, as I suspect, then make sure to split up the races
- You could try a BTCC style 30 minute max race time limiter, it just feels traditional
- Make sure to include some proper classic tracks: Imola, Zolder, Silverstone, etc
- Maybe some other cost limiter? I dunno, the production units one looks like a good limiter to be honest.
This is going to be fun I reckon!
that is a possibility. the prod limiters are there to force people to use technology typical of the time.
I’ll be first with the stupid questions. Do we have a minimum reliability? Being short races, do we need to consider economy? When you say no 2 seater bodies, does that mean we cant have 2 seats in a sedan? (I warned you they’d be stupid questions)
Edit:
And… safety?
This looks very interesting. Tbh i kinda prefer endurance type races, theres more planning involved with the balance of speed and fuel economy. But it looks interesting nonetheless. Also thank god its set in 1958, i would have had to make an entirely new company if it was any earlier (MBS only began in 1955)
economy isn’t really a factor in a 30 min race, reliability will matter (dice rolls), seeing as it’s based on the original BSCC, then your car has to be at least a 4 seater. safety, i think a bare minimum of basic will suffice
if you can build a car with one under 75 prod units, go right ahead.
I like the idea, but I think a CC rating cap on class 2 would be better in my opinion. And what are “hard” tyres? Since this is a racing series, “hard” tyres would be more like medium compound road tyres as opposed to semi slicks, which would be soft. Or we’re just using hard compound road tyres?
hard long life tyres, they’re called exactly the same name in the game
