Taking a little break from my garage thread. In the meantime, I’m going to be starting up a brand.
Welcome to Aulrusso. I’ll develop a story for this brand as time passes and I create cars for this thread. For now, there’s not much to say. The first car I’ve constructed for Aulrusso is coming soon, maybe even as soon as today, so check back every now and then if you are interested. My design skills leave something to be desired (especially in the visuals department), but hopefully somebody will appreciate what I have to offer with this brand :p.

Ah yes, the Dupla. One of Aulrusso’s first offerings. Two doors, two seats, and two camshafts. Its little 997cc straight 4 is relatively inexpensive to produce, and it dodges nearly every displacement tax out there while still cranking out enough power to outrun some roadsters equipped with similarly-sized engines. This car’s main focus isn’t its performance though, it’s all about offering a compact, relatively inexpensive, yet quite luxurious package. The Dupla has leather seats, a top of the line radio, and a surprising amount of legroom. All in a car that can squeeze its way into the city and through claustrophobic mountain passes without too much of a hassle.

Allow me to introduce you to the Dupla’s livelier little sister, the Romanza. Available strictly in spider configuration, the Romanza offers comparable straight-line performance to the Dupla while bringing a healthier serving of agility to the table. For about the same price, those who are willing to put up with a more cramped, noisier cabin can enjoy an Aulrusso with a more entertaining driving experience. A little 797cc twin cam straight 4 powers this beauty, running hot enough to fall short of the Dupla’s power figures by a mere 5 horsepower. While not the fastest car of its day by any means, the Romanza offers Aulrusso comfort in a more athletic package at a reasonable price.
