ill be further refining and posting the said FWD mini monster here. it’s small, its (relatively) cheap, it’s light, it’s fast.
on another note, on this track, i think a smaller lighter and nimble car would profit way more than a high powered ones.
like, mine, compared to the canto MM, it’s less than a second slower, a tad bit cheaper, even with higher margin (Year 2017 though).
achieved through an engine less than half the HP numbers, and weight bit more than half of that. even with FF layout.
This car is a Sports Coupe.
When I built this trim of the car I wanted to have a high RPM range for some reason. But that caused problems with top speed and I lowered it from 9000RPM to 8000RPM. I plan to build an Economy trim of the car, most likley using a 4.0 i4 I created before this car.
I will edit this as soon as I post the car in the car design sharing thread.

EDIT: I think mine could be maybe 1 and a half seconds faster, but with the new rebalancing I don’t know how to tune the suspension for MR cars anymore
Also, please remember that this isn’t only about having the fastest times, it’s about creating a useful benchmarking tool for everyone to use, new players and experienced players alike. If someone makes a car but isn’t sure if it’s fast enough, they could come here and compare their car against other cars. That’s the idea of this.
Name of car: LO 115 Sport

Turbo or NA:NA
Weight: 2225.6kg
Format (FF, MR etc.): Front AWD
It comes down to this… one of our new engineers decided to break with company convention and build something fast, that could also handle itself decently off road. Despite keeping with some of DMA’s typical less is more styling this thing really looks odd, even by our standards.
At the end of 2002, Meliora stoped the production of its sports cars. Then, 2 years later presented a Concept Car in a small autoshow, ony reffered as Super GT. The next year, the concept car was released but with a different name, Canto (spanish word for singing) featuring a 3.5 liters turbo V8, pushing 414 hp. A great GT car, but some sports fans wanted more, and in 2006 the Meliora Canto MM was presented, with a NA 5 liters V8, pushing 500hp and taking only 3.5s from 0-60. This machine was a limited version (as all the MM trims) and only 300 were produced. Up to this day, it remains as a valuable car for collectors and for enthusiasts as well.
OP updated
Looking pretty populated now. We’ll be able to do some pretty decent comparisons soon between production cars. With that said, we do need more race cars!
Name of car: 2016 Chlumsky F1B1C
Intended use: Production Hypercar
Year: 2016
Power & Torque ratings: 1293 hp 1253 ft-lbs
Price (prod. cars only): 149,877
Turbo or NA: Turbo
Weight: 3197.1 lbs
Format (FF, MR etc.): F-AWD
Picture of lap time:
@chlumsky: yeah that happens a lot. We can expect a few hundredths in variation due to file reading irregularities
@vri404: it’s honestly not that difficult. I’m only not posting any of my 1:05 production builds because the engine formats they require in my official company lore are not available.
Also I think the price is kept down because chlumsky may not be using CF. Other handy points of comparison between that and the Salamander include:
interior trim (Salamander has sports seats, standard infotainment, and safety sufficient to be sold in all areas)
reliability (Salamander’s engine reliability is 77 and I don’t run my cars hot)
fuel type (Salamander runs 95RON)
tyres (like all my road cars, I use sports 8+, and this makes a huge difference, if I used semi slicks 15+ I’d be running 1:05 or better)
profit margin (as I mentioned mine had 34%… It’s a small company )
I tried looking up the Chlumsky car information but could only find the same as what was posted here. Consider this me applying a little pressure for greater transparency.
Speaking of which, modern cars have a minimum safety requirement. For Gasmea it’s 35, for Fruinia it’s 40. I don’t know about Archana but I’d suggest that safety status of the car is mandatory if it’s to be production legal.
A good little bit of advice: negative camber helps ALOT. It will increase steering response at the cost of straight line stability, among other things.
I really don’t know the mods, I mean, I don’t know which ones are vanilla and which ones I downloaded… But, for the car, I can recognize a few mods. I used some vents from Znoproesk and a hellcat grille from VMO.
I second this, maybe we should be posting a screenshot of the markets so we can see it is actually a production car that is sellable/saleable (uses regular/premium fuel, safety, footprint and all of that).

Well, markets screen will only show you that it is saleable in a region. You can deduce a max fuel from this, but none of the rest is actually going to be displayed. The details tab on the results page will show you the fuel type, and if you see the engine results page it will tell you everything about the engine. There isn’t a single place for all of the information you’d like to see. I don’t even know if footprint is actually displayed anywhere, other than a score in the details sub-tabs. I don’t mind posting 28 pics of my cars, but it’s a lot to ask of everybody. The overview results page should be quite sufficient, as it lists all of the really pertinent details, save for fuel type. Maybe the engine results, the results overview tab, and the track time would qualify the cars, and it is only 3 screenshots. Having said this, here is my markets tab:
I think that it’s okay to keep posting certain information optional, however, what I’m thinking to do with my own leaderboard is to designate which entries have all the relevant information available (either through screenshots or having sent the car in directly) with a separate colour.
It’s interesting, how a year and a half ago I was posting cars with one goal: to make the cars go as fast around the track as possible. Now I’ve transitioned to obsessing over how to balance this while keeping my company viable.
Speaking of which, I did a quick 5 minute build and made a cheap car that can go improbably fast around Airfield to verify that yes, chlumsky’s car is well more than doable (and for half the price, at that). I’ve attached the various information here which proves it is quite easy to do:
The trick is, use really cheap materials. Why carbon fiber? Just go with alu/steel and fiberglass! Vented discs work just as well and cost way less, same with using Mg wheels instead. Sports seats and entertainment? Also very expensive if all you want to do is go fast! I was not able to replicate the power curve of chlumsky’s car (the redline is 5800rpm, I’m not used to that). Also the top speed of the car is much higher and I suspect that’s because I just geared the car to the theoretical top speed as opposed to gearing it for Airfield. And of course this has nothing to do with what’s actually in the other car, but more as a proof of concept where you can make a ‘production’ car for cheap that goes really fast, but you’ll never know just how nasty it is to live with.
