Alt history, so its not a 100 match up, just go with it XD

The oil shortage in 1973 and lead ban of 1971 may have killed the market for 8L V8s, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a couple hold outs. Money is tight and people are more warry when finacing a new car, but the cool factor is still peaking around the corner for younger buyers.

We’re looking for the best to come as the last few years have been bleak and uninspired.
We’re happy to see 1975 as the turning point for car culture to get back on its feat!

Rules

Standard tech +5
Soft cap of 55,000 no hard cap
radials non race only (no semi slicks)
no “DLC” bodies (the weird old bodies that bug the game out. mod bodies are fine)
20MPG min.
Wes 4 min.
0 to +5 qualty max
Tyre width must end in a 5 and 55 min profile
No billet engine parts
Fuel must be premium unleaded or less (Regular gets a bonus)
250 srvc charge to supercharged engines

Scoring

I’m scoring this on a broad scale, not a simple star based system though realism is Key to making the top 10 list.

If it makes sense for the year awesome, if its a twin-charged cargo-van on 22s its not going to do well. that being said pushing the boundaries is fun, make that twin turbo shooting brake!
no market specifically needs to be targeted, this is a global magazine, but cars should be made in a way that they make sense for the market they are going for.

interiors not needed but offering points for stand out work.

Extra credit if it has cool lore / history or racing version coming soon
(just foot notes not going to make the difference on who wins)

Yes, build what ever (semi) era correct car you want.
Sports cars, land barges, Muscle cars, muscle trucks, luxury, cheap super car?, even a cargo van not on 22s, fuel economy car, kei car, honestly as long as its got 4 or more wheels and follows the rules I’m going to judge it!

This is meant to be a light hearted and fun event with very relaxed rule set.

I’m not sure why a catalytic converter of some sort isn’t mandatory, but it will help in reaching those emissions targets.

Catalytic converters were not mandatory in the USA. They were never explicitly mandated, to my knowledge, and I’ve looked through the actual letter of the law. If you were like Honda and could meet emissions requirements without one, you could sell a catless car. Even as late as the 90s. You or I can’t remove a catalytic converter if the car came with one, but manufacturers don’t have to include one if they can hit targets.

“WES4 minimum and no cat mandate” is basically how the real laws worked.
