So, I have 20 accepted cars, and I am fine tuning the prices.
One of the accepted cars was made by a user that might or might not have been an alt of a user that has a history in multi-accounting and is now muted on discord. I am looking into exchanging that for one of the submissions that dropped from the shortlist.
Thank you all for submitting cars.
I received 3 kei cars, which were well made and nice-looking. However, the turbocharged 600cc engines were simply too stressed and tuned to the limit already to allow the necessary flexibility for this challenges.
In general, I accepted a number of cars that fit the power to weight class and have similar performance, while technically not being small hatchbacks. They fall in the same price class.
I dropped a few cars due to being too powerful in standard form, one for having a mix-maxxed (y tho?) manual 3-speed gearbox, one for having an ET of over 200 and it not being a 500 horsepower supercar, which is downright weird.
The most difficult selection was getting the numbers down to something manageable (which ended up being 20, higher than the foreseen 15). So many were dropped because the styling or the engineering was the same as other entries, yet a bit more bland - this is subjective, as all are basically blandmobiles.
TL/DR
Detailed shortlist upcoming in due time, with a bit of delay due to the apparent ban of one of the users that submitted a car that got accepted initially.
You can register as a team (see first post). Deadline 21 August.
You will receive a PM from me confirming registration.
In response to this PM you can buy a car for the Automation only competition and/or a car for the BeamNG only competition. You don’t need to enter both. If you do, you don’t need to take the same car. Deadline is 23 August. ==> you get the .car file at this point.
You must buy your updates (again in that same PM thread) for the first race by 25 August. (Though date is provisional if too soon.)
Summary
Upgrades available for purchase will be:
race exhaust (removes catalyst and mufflers - allows you adapt exhaust size);
front and rear aero (can be added and tuned)
race transmission (allows you to change and retune the transmission);
brake upgrade (allows you to retune the brakes);
suspension tuning (allow you to change and retune the suspension);
limited slip differential (your choice which);
sport tires (including wider thread);
oil change (bumps up the fuel type and compression to 98RON);
weight reduction stage 1 (removes all seats but the driver, which is replaced by a sports sear and the radio);
weight reduction stage 2 (removes safety and sets quality to -15);
turbo (adds pre-set ball baring performance turbo - and changes compression to highest allowed Octane).

Cheating will be punished severely, so do not adapt any sliders except where explicitly allowed.
You can send in a personalized car and your tune (where allowed by the updates bought) for the first race by 29 August. (Though date is provisional if too soon.)
Considering fixtures = weight, you can send a personlized car for lore, while also sending a clean tuned car for the actual time.
In BeamNG you can drive yourself and send me a replay. The laps are flying laps. Corner cutting is not allowed, you must remain withing the circuit and go no further than the curbs, even if checkpoints allow otherwise.
Important info:
Cars can be sold to multiple users, but I will limit to 1/4 of the field for a single car. So, first come first served.
It is quick becoming apparent that a few cars are proving to be popular choices. In terms of performance. Things should be fairly balanced.
Still time to register for the challenge! Whether only Automation or also for the BeamNG part (which you can drive yourself or let me set a time for you) is a choice up to you.
The updates which you choose to apply or not are going to be decisive in winning.
Teams entered are on the bottom of the first post. Cars bought can be shared by the racing team, but if they don’t want so, the organisation will make public this information in their stead.
I can tell you that one car from the catalogue are currently sold out (1/4th rule), two others are nearing that limit, unless other teams enter and widen the field.
Visually nothing much changed Because we were expectiong Aero Carbon parts to arive but Hermes lost them in the post but underneath the rear hatch we feed it better fuel and gave it a complete in-house made exhaust system.
As our second car we got a Reduit! And we found a 2004 body kit for it! Timm, our Turbo Man, didnt knew he was going to drive in this… or that he got this car… which doesnt have a turbo. We think he will hate it, and we are not Sorry.
We went with the only right thing to do, spend all the money on Fiberglass Bumpers and AutoZone stickers. Oh and some wheels. We also did upgrade the brakes. We still need Timm cant get him killed. At least not in a 70hp shitbox. Lets hope this engine can hold 3 bar of boost.
