Didn’t want to ignore yall, because that’s just really rude in my book.
Didn’t want to tell yall off, for reasons including that technical fuckups are neither your nor my fault, other delays are certainly not yours, and some of you definitely put in work that needs to be commended. That said, I’ve got shit going on both elsewhere in Automation and in the rest of my life. CW9 in particular is a much higher priority and a much bigger project.
This isn’t like that French dictionary committee that took something around seventy (70) years of meeting for lunch every other Tuesday before finishing one volume of least a dozen planned… Then, when confronted with the reality that they had fossilized to the point that the language was actually shifting faster than they could have meetings about it, threw up all their hands about the whole thing, put in their notices to invoke their legally-enshrined French right to an existential crisis…
And in about a month spat out the other eleven volumes that turned out to be just fine for what they were as of the date this session began meeting, t.i. sometime around 1950. C’est la vie, I guess?
Don’t have anything much that’s just waiting for a critical mass of Nag before idly and contemptuously flicking a booger onto the button to polish, print, and publish something we’ve been sitting on for eternity. I can’t publish it, because it doesn’t exist.
What does exist to be published? The notes below, mostly rather brief, and not ranked. Some proposed category winners are at the end, but the overall winner depends on what the host prioritizes.
Also, for reasons that will become apparent later, hopefully when NoBuddy releases whatever’s been made of a video review/story, my own car will not be participating, at least not as a competitor.
So with that out of the way...
novara raptor movie car: weird forward-leaning proportions but pretty good styling all around - the hidden-headlights grill, the same theme in the taillights, the nicely done lower side chrome strip. engineering is pretty good, not perfect, but as with the styling, this was made by someone who knows what they’re doing. i’ve no idea who, tho; no name on it.

P.C. Tuning GMBH - 1965 muscle: styling has good proportions and ideas, but is quite underdone. the wheels and rear are especially disappointing. engineering is not bad, a step down from the raptor especially in suspension tuning.

WM deus: rear is weird, wheels look like a stanced rice rocket, styling is otherwise in the right direction but underwhelming. interior is somewhat better, tho rather cramped in the back. engineering is quite good, tho the brakes are overpowered and unbalanced.

zongratta: the greenhouse has a neat idea, otherwise the styling fails inside and out. interior ergonomics also unuseable. engineering mediocre, not terrible.

armega atom-arrow: WOAH.
the colors a bit too cheerful, but that’s more than overpowered by the fixture work.
i don’t like the proportions, but they look to have a functional reason to be like that, so that’s just fine. however, the engineering leaves much to be desired. it’s reliable but drives awful.

gaetano: totally different vibe from the armega, but i kinda like it. it’s a stealty, very practical sort of look: hides dirt, hides itself - not a lot of bling, styling is subdued, anonymous - hides you, fits a lot of crap and moves it with impressive capability and diversity thereof. engineering is mixed; drives well but unreliable. not much detailing in the build, as a matter quite apart from quiet styling.

galver rattlesnake: what in the goddamn…
…ah, i see what happened here… i don’t have the right textures for it, but between what i can see and the photos, this looks very well-built and very on-point for a villain army sort of car, not so much villain mastermind. that’s both because of what it’s styled as - a cart for the rank and foul, not a chariot for the brass parade - and how it’s engineered: not well. it manages ok reliability and not much else.

stalwartness: pretty realistic-looking. a bit too subtle but no more so than the gaetano. engineering is also pretty mixed. reliable but drives poorly.

best styling: the armega, tho i can see a case for the galver taking the win, and possibly the raptor.
best engineering: deus.
best combined: raptor? but i wouldn’t raise too much of an eyebrow at the gaetano sneaking to first place. the deus wouldn’t be too outlandish either.

Hey, sorry, it’s nobuddy on phone still. I still wasn’t able to fix me laptop due to high prices for parts and still wasn’t able to do much here, thanks Moroza to put the notes on the builds people made, I originally wanted the top 5 have a dedicated video where it showed how they would’ve been portrayed by the movies they part in but fate had different plans. I am sorry to disappoint but not much I can do…
