Baltazar Automóveis

I plan on making all three of them again, along with previous models.

However, real life is slowing down progress and I’ve been using some time to expand and refine lore for all companies.

If you do Christmas, it IS a birthday, so…

I like the cars. Good work! Especially the quark

It looks like the Quasar will also make a smooth transition to UE4. I’m expecting a rundown of the range in short order. That just leaves the Zeppelin and Kilimanjaro…

A Boxing Day Special from Baltazar Automóveis

More information on the new year.

While scanning the forums, I found a Baltazar model that has so far not been mentioned in this thread: the Beluga. From what I recall, it was a mid-late-90s large luxury car, so why does this thread not feature it? I reckon it could be down to the Beluga being a non-canonical model that does not fit in with the company history, even in the pre-UE4 era.

By the way, that screenshot of the remastered Quasar’s rear end has only convinced me to buy one even more, were it to exist in real life.

Yeah, the Beluga is very much a non-canon car. Back then I didn’t have any non-canon tags and I didn’t think so deeply for lore. That may become an even bigger problem in the near future, as I feel an increasing need for an american brand. The question here would be, keep it as a non-lore company and create another one or keep bush as the american arm?

Happy new year! And here is a gift from Baltazar.

The 2018 Baltazar Quasar

For the second year in the row, the Quasar has been elected the best common car of the Automationverse. First, the sedan won the prize and then the hatchback model.
Now, in 2018, the Quasar is reborn in UE4. In the transition the now classic looks have been maintained. The sleek and refined headlights have been reimagined and the front bumper now features a distinct look, with ever more aggressive vents and fog lights. Meanwhile, the rear has barely been changed, with the trapezoidal rear lights still integrated visually by two elements, the lower one always in black and the upper one in black plastic, body colour or chrome depending on the trim level.

The engine range, on the other hand, is new. Gone are the old inline 4 engines, in come revised versions of the inline 3 turbocharged engine. Introduced in 2013, this new engine family brings advanced technology, like direct injection, a low-inertia turbocharging system and variable valve timing on both cams. In the Quasar, this engine is available in 3 different configurations; 1.0, 1.2 and 1.35, with 95, 120 and 140 hp, respectively.

Together with the 2.0 turbocharged engine used in the sporty Quasar models, these engines comprise the European line-up, giving an option to every customer.
NAFTA, Latin America, China and Southeast Asia have a 2.0 NA option, with 160-165 hp, with the inline 3 engines not available to those markets.

Looks nice and sensible as always and the engine lineup is realistic… with one exception. China has tax brackets on 1.5 and 2.5 litre engines AFAIK, so giving them a 2.0 instead of a 1.35 would be a bit illogical.

I completely forgot about the tax brackets.

However, a quick google has told me that the tax is 3% for engines under 1.5 litres and 5% for engines between 1.5 and 2.0. A 2.0 engine without a turbo should be a bit cheaper to make than the 3-cyl unit, meaning, the 2.0 might still come out cheaper. Further investigation will follow.

2019 Quark GT

After the sucessful introduction of the 2018 Quark, Baltazar is proud to present the faster, sportier GT trim level.
The chassis and powertrain have been extensively revised, with 14 mm lower ride height, stiffer springs, dampers and anti-roll bars. The tyres are Michelin Sport Cups, which along with the new 18" wheels, help the car feel more precise and agile. The GT is the only Quark model that comes equipped with a a 4-cylinder engine, here a 200 hp 1.7 litre turbocharged unit.

All models come with a mechanical limited slip differential and buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed DCT.

First deliveries will take place in March 2018, in Europe, and April in the USA.

I really love that design! The rounded-edge triangle theme is really cool—it makes it look aggressive and distinct. I also appreciate your fervent love of that shade of orange, which I’ve seen on so many of your cars. Well done!

Thank you.

And holy shit, you are right. I scrolled up and every single GT spec Baltazar I released has been in that colour. I swear it wasn’t intentional, just a happy coincidence. I shall take it as a special trim colour from now on

Also, great seeing you back

Are there any diffrences between the 2018 quark and 2019?

None other than the introduction of the GT trim level to top the range.
