At any rate, the only reason I was still here was because I was so amused at the idea of Enry trying to disguise himself I drew an impression of it. Here he is taking a breather at the petrol station in Ikaho Machi along the Jomo Sanzan Panorama Highway, which looks an awful lot like the petrol station Takumi and his friends work at in Initial D…

On to the USA!

Beautiful sketch strop

Having crossed the finish line, Tom stopped and jumped out of his car quickly to watch the Hulk on its last meters. It was a terrifying sight. The car was all over the place, and despite the AWD setup, the power had nowhere to go as the colossal power overwhelmed the skinny tyres. The car was on a constant knife’s edge, fighting not only the fearsome Mt Haruna touge, but also itself. Those pictures would never leave Tom’s head, and he was glad he had managed to get past this monster. After the Hulk’s engine had stopped, Tom walked over to Reece, saying “Congratulations, man! You’ve finished! Not sure if i would have even made it through the first turn im that thing, i would’ve sh*t myself before that!”

With still the adrenaline rushing through his heart, Matt stopped his SD-01R after the finish line, it was an incredibly tight race, the pace was really high from the beginning till the end, when he knew that on the last winding corners the Gemina had a slight advantage on him.
He opened the door and watched his counterpart still inside the Gemina, A big grin appeared on his face and he jumped out screaming and pointing at Yuri:
“That was insane!! Whoaa! GG to you, i reckon we will be very close in some other races of this crazy race series.”
The crowd was cheering at them. Now Matt has to think about the next stage, Bonneville. He’s pretty confident for a good placement, but having watched the competition, nothing was really “sure”.

Sebastian Machado III takes his loss with temper, “The 2 next s stages are all mine” and “Once back at home the kinks will be worked out” Being a more mellow than his father, he decides to go to take termal bath… and guess who was there… the horse guy.

Cool! You wrote this in a way that fits perfectly with the way I imagined my stories.

Vos came to a sideways skidding stop near the Gryphon Gear truck on two wheels and unabashedly slammed the other two down, inches from Strop’s hoof. With the brakes still smoldering and the tires still melting, he kicked his door open, where it bashed into the truck and clamored out, snatching Strop’s phone in the process. He dialed the number to his shop while blocking Strop’s every attempt at reclaiming his phone, eventually palm slamming his head into his own truck. Seconds later, the person on the other end answered. “You know where she works right? Yea. Go get her. You know what, get her kids too. If he makes a big stink about it, tan his happy ass and line the seats of our next car with it.” WIth that, he smacked the phone into Strops’ chest, sunk back into his car and drove off with an eerily satisfied look on his face. He would sleep soundly tonight knowing his next car would be fueled with the eco-friendly fire derived from the failure of his lead scientist.

As Aaron made it to the end of the downhill chaos, he took a peek at his rear-view mirror for the first time since setting off, and was stunned at what he saw. Kristina wrestling her car around the last tight corner, as it threatened to throw itself off course at any moment. “Wow”, Aaron muttered to himself quietly, “That certainly wasn’t what I was expecting”. Aaron had actually thought he was done for before he even left the start line. The E30’s superior power and weight really should have been enough to keep his Elegance at bay?

Aaron had a quick flashback to the beginning of the race. The mixture of excitement and anxiety was a lot to take in as Kristina flicked her cigarette out into the night. As Noah gave the signal to start the race, a huge roar went up from the Elegance’s turbo straight-six, and the V8 powerhouse that is the LS7. It was hard to tell which way the race would go in the quick few seconds of wheelspin from both cars, but as Aaron’s Elegance found it’s traction and speared off at face-melting pace, he was surprised. Despite the car’s heavy weight, Aaron managed to control the car rather well, although he was in the lead, the imposing silhouette of Kristina in the E30 was ever present each time Aaron’s car lumbered around the tight bends. But as the race went on, he edged further-

Aaron was interrupted from his deep thought as someone pulled up alongside him and rolled down their window. It was Kristina in the E30. “How long?”, the sentence came out as a strained squeak, as though the effort made to keep the car under slight control down the mountain had sucked every molecule of air from Kristina’s body. “About a minute” Aaron replied, he had a wave of sympathy at Kristina’s dejected expression.

Aaron had a mix of feelings after the race. Obviously he was very happy at managing such a large win, as he is an extremely competitive person, and it was even more of a good feeling to win, as he came so close to finishing ahead of the E30 in the first race, but didn’t quite make it. But he was also sympathetic and felt sorry for Kristina; he knew it could have just as easily have been him on the losing end of the battle, and he just didn’t have the ruthless streak that all insane racers should possess. He hoped that such a heavy loss wouldn’t affect Kristina or the E30 negatively in the rest of the races, and he wished her luck in the USA race.
“Damn, that must’ve been a difficult drive, hopefully things will be better in the US”, Aaron said, as they both clambered out of their chariots of madness.
“Well, no harm done, eh? And good luck to you too, you’ll need it” Kristina smiled, only half joking as Vos and Strop tangled a few metres away from them. They went to investigate, and ended up watching in awe as Vos hurtled away from the lot in a cloud of smoke, true BSLL fashion.

Niall sat at a counter stool in a western style tourist bar near the airport, taking another shot of rum he could feel the excitement still bubbling inside him, the Vindicatior had done it! Under powered and overweight the bizzare combination of antique parts he’d thrown together was holding it’s own amongst this pack of stark raving asylum inmates and their equally moon struck machines. This is the race of a lifetime, muscling the big manual steering wheel around, feeling the body sway as the weight settles, watching the nose dive as he struggles to threshold brake and heel-toe the big car through the tight twists. This is what driving is all about, he thinks, man and machine in harmony, the long throw shifts have that smooth but heavy mechanical grace that’s just not possible to replicate by tappin one of those little flappy paddles. the mechanical linkages through out means that the driver always feels connected. I might not be the fastest flatout in the desert, but by god I’ll be having fun.

Yuri unbuckled his seat belt and climbed out of the car exhilarated: "You! You drive like a madman! Woohoo!!! I can’t believe that road was wides enough for both of us. We will meet again in another wheel to wheel race for sure. But for now we should let the brakes cool down and go for a drink. What do you say, heh? And I think I also spotted a couple of girls looking for an autograph, if you catch my drift. "

Riley was thinking, "Why should I go to Bonneville? This car is so slow in a straight line! Why not skip 5 hours of travel? "Hmmmm…

WOW, just WOW, that’s awesome! Strop, you’re great! Enry looks pretty dang cool, and the Achernar is so close to how i imagine it, this is so mind-blowingly fantastic :sunglasses:

“About a minute,” were the words she heard after the dust settled around her car at its stopping point. “Damn, that must’ve been a difficult drive, hopefully things will be better in the US,” Aaron said as she climbed out of the E30. “Well, no harm done, eh? And good luck to you too, you’ll need it.”

Sadly, he was not wrong. She smiled at his words, but the same phrase kept going through her mind. “About a minute.” She looked at the times on the clock. 4:59.45 for him. 5:54.38 for her. And to think she had detuned this monster from over 1600! Of course, greed had won and she kept it above the 1kg:1hp mantra. Her ego had failed her again!

Bonneville would be better, but not by much. Acceleration in this beast was slow. Tulsa would be a disaster for certain. This was her only real chance at a good showing. The E30 was a drift megastar after all. Even the LS7 would be a superior drift motor…at its factory 505hp. It has all of the things which make a drift car great, save for the 1260hp. If she had kept it under 1100, things would have definitely been very different, but far worse on every other track perhaps. Or maybe not. Too late to worry over it now. That would be for the next edition of this event, not for this one. Hopefully, after managing this car down that mountain in one piece, she had at the very least earned a place here.

She chuckled at the display from Vos using Strop’s phone as he sped off into the night. She sat back down in her car as Rayyan approached, obviously high as a kite. He offered the smoke, which she normally would refuse. As she puffed it and handed it back through the window, she blew him off. “Thanks, that will help calm me down for sure. You should probably move out of the way now, as this beast is nearly uncontrollable. Good luck in Utah!” She was too tired for another fight, even if it was one she would obviously win with little effort. She fired up the motor again and backed away from the disappearing crowd, and headed back down the hills to the expressway. She liked Japan, but was getting a little homesick after the nights events.

NOTE: as Riley suggested, you are, at any point, free to skip any events you feel will be pointless for you. (And tell us why). This of course means if you would otherwise have finished in the points they go to someone else, so choose wisely…

Another note: it is now very likely that after the top speed run, your cars are going to need some time to service so the engine doesn’t lunch itself at Tulsa. This will probably delay proceedings by a day or two. At this point, you have the opportunity to make minor alterations to your car. However this is obviously a limited service, so you can’t change everything! This is a list of components you may alter:

[ul]]Aerodynamic fixtures (lips, wings), their quality and their angle, and amount of ventilation (but NOT undertray)/:m]
]Tyre compound, width, diameter and quality/:m]
]All suspension setup (but NOT quality)/:m][/ul]

People who choose to bye an event can, during that event, replace a few extra components on top of that, namely:
[ul]]gear ratios and final drive (but NOT drivetrain type, number of ratios or quality)/:m]
]brake pad type and size, rotor size, and quality/:m][/ul]

However, if you were eligible for bonus points beforehand and the new changes affect this, you may lose points! Conversely, if you weren’t eligible for an award and you now are, you don’t get any extra points. Those points only go to tunes that satisfied the criteria for the whole league, so choose wisely!

This does not affect bonus points awarded to the categories for the car with the most this or that, those are already set.

Most drivers would be probably better off not changing anything! Whether you do or not is a gamble you decide to take!

IF you wish to skip an event, pm me no less than 24hr before the event is due to begin.

IF you wish to retune your car after Bonneville, pm me your new setup before the 16th! That will be the setup run for the remainder of the stages.

Can I change the car before Bonneville and return to my current set up for the rest of the season?

One of the problems of my car is the lack of top speed, being able to reduce the aero would help me with that.

I and the rest of the Centauri team stand behind our project. The Vindicatior stands ready for all challenges and challengers.

Leo: unfortunately not, there are two ways of explaining this:

  1. not enough time to make a proper modification, the only thing I will allow is complete removal of any fixtures without the opportunity to put it back on later, because you’ll have literally enough time to rip it off and wreck the mountings :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll otherwise only allow the modifications as listed above, and only after round 3

  2. this is obviously because allowing down force changes for round 3 only would wreck the balance of the competition, since a top speed run was included to shift the balance away from the super track beasts that are glued to the road.

how much can one change of the car?
