Barely Street Legal League [SURVEY ON PAGE 70]

Build it, bring it, drive it, or go home. That is the order of things.

NO DO-OVERS!!!

Ha, one after my own heart. Just FYI none of the GG cars are going to change their setup. However some of the foibles in certain other setups are just so debilitating that I couldn’t help but offer…

Gosh that takes me back, NFS:Underground was one of the freshest releases back in its day. And it actually had a damn good soundtrack. My go-to quintessential drag racing song is Black Betty.

Two things; one, would we be able to see who isn’t competing and two, would we miss out on bonus points when they’re given out at the event we missed?

 1. If the competitor hasn’t notified publicly on this thread, then you will only find out they haven’t shown up when the round commences, where I will explicitly mention they haven’t shown up.

 2. Good question. That’s the other gamble, yes. Currently the points are fixed, but if you happen to miss a round where I award bonus points (and no, you don’t get to know which bonus points they are, though you may be able to work it out based on what I’ve been awarding thus far), you WILL miss out on those points. You won’t get to know that you did, either, unless you check your stats, because I will remove the relevant entry from the excel spreadsheet. So you’ll just have to try and guess not only whether you stand to benefit, and what everybody else is going to do.

I don’t get it… we need to RP so you know we are going for the next round or something

After the rejection from Kristina, Rayyan strolled back to the HFF and chugged the remainder of his whisky and with a face full of determination he strapped ready for the next leg to the legendary Salt Flats of Bonneville and rehearsing his next move on Kristina as his main focus shifted from winning the crazy wheels title to getting it on with Kristina.

@Hellboy:
No, he said that if a competitor wants to retire from the next race and decides to say nothing here on the thread, but instead only pms Strop with his decision to not partecipate, then Strop will say it explicitely at the beginning of that event.

No no, you don’t have to do anything if you’re planning to turn up for the next round. After all I have all the data already. You either need to announce in thread or PM me if you’re planning to miss a specific round. RPing in thread is optional.

Either way I reiterate, regardless you will get a chance to retune after round 3 (and that tune will apply to round 4-8, no further changes). And I don’t exactly encourage people just skipping rounds all that much and retuning their cars, because that creates more work for me :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay, 3rayman3, before you go on with that, I need to make sure you’re really clear on a number of things (and 07cobaltgirl, please feel free to correct me if any of this is wrong or you decide otherwise): As far as I know, Kristina (for the purposes of this tournament) is 44, an ex-marine, and wearing steel toed boots. She was being nice to you the first time, but I would not recommend messing with the lady, and can’t guarantee it will go so well for you if you’re gonna make it about soliciting the lady…

In real, non-roleplay terms, if any aspect of the roleplay becomes offensive or intolerable (in this particular case that is for 07cobaltgirl to decide), as the host I’ll have to take action, and the easiest course of action would be a direct request to cease and desist, on threat of ejection from the tournament. At this stage I’ve obviously got no reason to do that, but I’m just saying this as fair notice, and that does go for everybody!

If 07cobaltgirl has any issues with the way that im looking at taking the roleplaying aspect feel free to PM me and raise the concern so i can deal with it through an alternative piece of roleplaying before anything goes too far. In terms of Rayyan he is a veteran RAF pilot who is in his early 30’s who took over his family fortune (Sabre Automotive) upon retiring from the Air Force

OK, I’m questioning even more! If we’re fixing the engine could we change stuff to do with the engine other the top and bottom end because that would be constructing a whole new engine?

I’d say no changes, its extra work for you and for no good reason, the track list was available for everyone to see some picked high speed cars, some corner carvers, some made a balance between. It’s just the nature of a multi stage beast, you never hide that there were going to be all different kinds of events. Adding this will only cause confusion and fustration. *my 2 cents *

Remindes me more of the Flatout2. Not that I’m implying that we should wreck our cars to pieces.

I couldn’t agree with you more. People tuned their cars the way they did aiming for something specific. I traded crazy wheels points to have a faster car and top-speed for cornering grip, there is no reason to change that.

Ladies and Gentlemen. I present a gift for Strop. Something that both he, and this race, have been sorely lacking. I give you, the Gryphon Gear Truck, by Normandy Automotive.

It comes with a 6.4L Bi-Turbo Flat Plane V8, producing 1869 HP and 1126 Ft-Lbs of torque, connected to an 8-speed sequential gearbox. It goes from 0 to 62 MPH in 2.2 seconds and tops out at 225. It gets a decent 10.4 MPG as well. The suspension and breaks are by far and away some of the best we’ve come up with.

It completes the Top Gear test track in 1:15.39, that easily puts it in 4th place on their leader board. That means it’s beaten the McLaren MP4, the Aventador and the Veyron SS to get there.

It completes the Automation Test Track in 2:15.04.

It completes Green Hell in 7:17.86

Credit to Kubboz for the model.

Damn, my poor Annihilator is really getting pummeled in the competition. The only cars it beats are the really old ones and the FF’s, and those are probably going to beat it on craziness. I kind of regret going for points instead of doing my best to make it fast
Also, I really like those little stories you’re writing for the events, Strop; they make the races so much more interesting and engaging. Of course, the interaction between the different characters is funny as hell, too

Since the races are already underway, why not share the stats of our cars? Here’s mine:

I’ve also got a couple of rejected designs that didn’t make it for one reason or another, tell me if you guys want me to post them.

Heh, that brings back some memories. I think this would be more fitting, though: youtu.be/DqWyI8CTzzA

Looks like we have a cheap and nasty contender here

[OOC]RP is one of my favorite things to do. It would be really hard for me to be offended. I can RP just about anything you can give, and throw it right back at you! I can take anything dished out. Be sure you can too! **FYI the Marine part, and the outfit is real-life[BIC]

A few of us already shared them back on pages 9-12.
