Battalion Tuning Team (Refurbishment situation, part 2)

*The beloved Tenryuu, built and raised to be one of the more nimble, and fast reacting high end sports cars for the Battalion,
has been bitten by the supercar bug. Its update has lost its all-wheel drive system for a more conventional rear wheel drive
setup, and a an updated Orion V8 engine, now with better fuel efficiency, and higher horsepower output. Its visuals have been
updated as well, making it look like a bigger sibling to the Archer Mk.III

I hereby present you…

Tenryuu Kai*

The updated Orion V8 has been redesigned, now a 5000cc flatplane V8 developing 555hp and 554Nm of torque. This new found
power is able to slingshot the Tenryuu Kai from naught to 100kmh in just 2.9 seconds, and a top speed just shy of 350kmh.
Interior and infotainment are similar to the Archer Mk.III, with the exception of higher quality, leather seats, which can be adjusted
to hug you and have a more direct feel, or a calming ride with its built-in pneumatic suspension that cancels out any harsh road surfaces
to the driver, and passenger.

The Tenryuu Kai retails at $92’500, so don’t miss it!

Bristol: Welp, there’s my contribution to the company for now.

Lean: It ain’t done yet, boy. There is one more iteration for the Tenryuu that
you are interested on, right?

Bristol: What are you on about?

Lean: Look who found the designs of a 6 litre flatplane V8 here?

Bristol: WHA- come back here you damn German!

*Cars of the 60s vary a lot depending on continent, region, nation. Even size come into factor; American love their cars
big, powerful, and a lot of screaming, squealing torque. Then there’s the British. some come as cheap and cheerful, and some
prestigious, poised, elegant. Rikako has tackled the American muscle of the 60s, and has now turned her attention to the island
nation. With her thoughts very much inspired on the good old BTCC during that era, she has produced a model, with 2 variations. *

This is the Vickers.

*Like I have said earlier, Rikako has produced two versions of the Vickers; the Skipper, and the Sprint.

The Skipper houses a decent 2000cc OHC Carburetor 8 Valve, Inline-4 “Valiant Honour” engine, developing 155hp. This lightweight
combination of the body and engine, just weighting in at 781kg, is able to propel the Skipper to 200kmh top speed, and a
0-100kmh time of 6.2 seconds.

Interior relives the time of the 60s, with modern gadgets well hidden from its rustic interior of brushed velour seats, dashboard made of
a combination of modern plastic and polished hardwood. Everything is made to look simple as the purpose of a car in the 60s was to drive,
and only drive, with the hum of the frisky engine tickling your urge to drive. Driving aids come in a form of power-steering and ABS, nothing
else. In the Vickers, you are one with the car.
*
The Vickers Skipper retails at a low price of $16’500

*The second version of the Vickers, the Sprint, features a homage to the most well-known engine for the British Isles. The famous Rover V8.
This was replicated by Rikako, making her own take of the Rover V8.

Under the hood of the Sprint lies a 3500cc MOHV Carburetor 16 Valve, Crossplane V8 “Valiant Pride” engine developing 260hp. Despite weighing in at
a heavier 869kg, and with thicker tyres, it is still able to propel the Sprint to a top speed of 235kmh, and a 0-100kmh time of 5.7 seconds. Interior
is similar to the Skipper, making the engine the only difference between them.*

The Vickers Sprint retails $20’000.

Rikako: Hey, Kampf. You know about this ‘Cursed Prince’ thing going on?

Kampf: Well, yeah. It’s been on my mind even though I try to ignore it.

Rikako: Well… How do I put it. It seems it’ll be making an appearance at the Marina Bay Circuit the day after the F1 race.
Seems the sponsors are allowing the public, tuners, and car companies to have a go at the circuit. It’ll last for a week. Lean, Erika, Bristol, and Fiolina seems agitated by this.

Kampf: So, it’s time, huh? I have a feeling that everyone will be trying to beat that vehicle, even though there were stories
that whatever fast vehicle were to attempt racing, or even overtaking it would result in crashing. It’s a car that throws bad luck.

Rikako: So, what are you going to do about this?

Kampf: I’ll be going head on with that monster. With my own car that I’ve built. The Warspite.

Rikako: You have got to be kidding me…

Airborne’s making an appearance on Marina Bay Circuit too!
I guess we’ll push the Haiyan, Beta, Beta Supercoupe and Lambda.

Ladies and gentlemen, ever since… conclusion of the Cursed Prince crisis, Battalion Tuning Team has fallen to hard times. Despite the fact that the elusive Cursed Prince… created by
Fiolina Germi, one of our fellow test drivers, has been defeated in the hands of Kampf, the founder of the company, the amount of fear mongering caused by that particular Black Prince
has since been the root cause of concern. Sales dipped sharply within the first 2 weeks after the incident, effectively killing the Covenanter and Cromwell roadsters, Vickers, Valiant, Hansa SUV,
Kormoran, Tatsuta, Yakaze, and the Serene Cab.

The only upside to this… is the sudden demand of the car that defeated the Cursed Prince; Kampf’s one-off supercar, the Warspite. Dubbed ‘The supercar worth waiting for’, it was a vast difference
compared to the likes of the heavy Kirishima, and the sporty Hiei coupes. Thankfully, with the funds still supported by Lean’s Custom Tuning Team, a new project is launched for this purpose.

Operation Kongō

The Kongō class sports coupes will come full circle with 2 more releases. It all depends on time at this rate.

As of now, Test Driver Fiolina Germi is on long term medical leave, after showing signs of depression, megalomania, and wild hallucinations. She is currently undergoing medical treatment
at a local hospital.

Cursed Prince was really cursed. It bankrupts goddamn BTT!
Need some money and selling help?
CEO of Airborne Automotive

PS. I knew that Fiolina was weird a bit when I met her, no offense Kampf.

Nice cars anyway

Kampf: We… should have listened to her previous employer’s warning back then… But nevertheless, we’re still hanging on over here.
And here I am concerned over your situation ever since the forest fire incident as well… But in any case, we’re taking it slow for this one.
Not the car’s speed, but the building process. We wouldn’t want to ruin it by being hasty. And need not worry about the lack of test drivers
on our side, we’re in the process of hiring another one.

And… here’s a preview of this new… car. It will be by far the company’s flagship for the time being.

Okay. Nice car anyway, I expect lots of Power
And about our situation - it got stabilized with bank backup and ceasing production of nonselling models (Read: Orbit).
Currently at the Company we’re building some New projects, including a small New muscle car called Phobos

About wildfire - the guy who started the campfire is already in our hands and already said “sorry”, plus money from his and ours insurance filled about 90% of losses and our Company wilk back with something awesome. Trust me.

PS. I met Cursed Prince sometime when going Through Autobahn with my Haiyan. Got the Prince easily on turns

CEO Oskiinus
Kampf: Now that’s troubling. Even though Fiolina kept insisting that she owns the one and only Cursed Prince, there might be a chance that any Black Princes engines she
has built might fall under that category as well. There should be a platinum plate on the cover of the engine that’s spot welded on, showing the engine type, model, the
engine builder’s specific code, and an engraved signature of the builder. Fiolina’s personal engine code falls under “BPU-FV-550JINN-2G”. The other, made by Rikako,
has her personal engine code as “BPK-RA-343KO-NI”. As far as we can decipher the codes, Rikako shared her views on it as she has worked closely with Fiolina.

It means “Black Prince, Upgraded - Fiolina Venturi - ‘550JINN’ - 2nd Generation”. the ‘550JINN’ portion has yet to be known, and if I were to input my opinion, the ‘JINN’
portion means “a supernatural creature in the Islamic mythology”. It’s a creature that is made out of smokeless and “scorching fire”, but is also physical in nature, able to
interact with people and objects. Like human beings, the jinn can be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent and hence have free will like humans. We have yet to uncover the
“550” portion, as personal engine code does not allow engine horsepower output to be used.

Nevertheless, onto the main purpose of this response…

*The Warspite; the machine that finally defeated Fiolina’s Cursed Prince. Despite ending up heavily damaged ranging from ripped side fenders, broken rear spoiler, oil leakage,
and even a broken fuel line at one point, it was able to hold on and end up victorious, winning the Marina Bay Street Circuit Time Attack event. Despite the shortfalls of the company
weeks after, the legacy of the Warspite burns on, and demands of its production grew. However, Kampf, the creator of the Warspite, has a better idea; an improvement to his car. A
better machine. Better components. Better materials. Better performance.

This is, the Kongo.*

The purpose of the Kongo, and even the Warspite, is minimal design for better drag coefficient. This results in higher top speed. The interior, too is trimmed with lightness in mind.
Lightweight variants of the interior are used, same goes for the infotainment, and the driving aids. But, that does not mean bare metal sticking out of places. The dash, for example,
is made out of matte black fibreglass. The seats, are upholstered with real leather, lined with nylon weaving. Brushed titanium is used for the console, and audio is sourced from Bose.

The engine is derived from the Warspite; the Warspite V8, and tweaked to produce an extra 2 horsepower, and a smoother powerband; 732 horsepower, and 627Nm of torque on 95 octane.
This 5000cc DOHC Direct Injection 32 Valve Crossplane V8 is able to propel the Kongo from 0 to 100kmh in 4.5 secs, and sail through the revs to a naturally limited top speed of 350kmh.
Despite all that brutal power and performance, it still runs at a respectable 14.07litres per 100km (20.07mpg).

The Kongo will retail at $150,000, so drop by and have a go at this beast of the Kongo class car series!

Below… is the images of the Warspite before it was wrecked at the event. It is still under repair as the chassis is being converted from ladder to monocoque.

Nice, reminds me a bit of the Skyline

*As the internal investigation about Fiolina’s documents continue, the core team came across a blueprint that was out of the Italian’s
expertise. Not a carburetor engine of any sort. A modern, big displacement flatplane V8. The initial designs appeared rough to Bristol;
the guy to look for when designing flatplane V8s. But nevertheless, the Brit decided to have a go at making one engine first to see
what it can do.

Never did he expect that such a design, listing the particular components, bore and stroke, and down to the diameter of the exhaust pipes…*

Bristol: I don’t believe this. How did she even pull it off in the first place?

Bristol: No matter, it’s time to find a fitting vehicle to test this engine. But… which car? The Zerstorer is already gone into the archives, and the
chassis and shell were already broken down to make panels for the new city car. The Tenryuu Kai is undergoing an overhaul- wait a second.

Bristol: So, suddenly, things are in my favour for once eh? Let’s see how the old chassis handles the power. I’m sure Lean will love this.

Kampf: Hello and welcome to Battalion’s thread! While we’re at work rebuilding the company’s reputation ever since the incident,
I’d like to show you a preview of what we have been building. The Emden Rage muscle car needs a successor, and it will get one.

Kampf: How does it perform? How much power will it dish out? Stay tuned. You, will not regret this one.

POWEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR

*The Emden series; the full sized saloon that later evolved into a muscle car, showing what a company from a small nation
can pull off when given a chance. But alas, the Emden Rage’s stint came to a brief end. Despite its success, it was merely,
a test build for the country’s first muscle car.

Now, however, we’re aiming for a full bred pony car. Something with attitude. Something to prove. Which is why for the Emden’s
successor, there will not be one version of the car.

There will be seven versions of the car, ranging from the low end, till high.

But no matter, despite the vast versions, all of them will have the same interior, infotainment, and safety.

So to kick things off, we shall present the entry builds of the new car; 3 of them to be exact.

**Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Emden’s replacement.

The Shrike***

Ecorun Edition

The engine in the Ecorun is powered by the same 2000cc V8 engine from the Panzer Sedan BT-Special, known for its low fuel consumption,
but tweaked and uprated to a decent 180hp, more than enough to power the basic model to 245kmh top speed.

The Ecorun Edition will retail at $27’000.

Starter’s Edition

The Starter’s Edition is powered by a 2400cc DOHC Inline-4, Naturally Aspirated “Techliner-4” engine, delivering a healthy 265hp, leaving
plenty of room for customer upgrades. At stock, it is able to power the car to a naturally limited top speed of 275kmh.

The Starter’s Edition will retail at $34’000.

Technical Edition

The Technical Edition receives a 3500cc DOHC Inline-6, Naturally Aspirated “Techliner-6” engine developing a strong 380hp.
This comes to no surprise that it is able to hit 100kmh from 0 in 4.9 seconds, and a top speed of 305kmh.

The Technical Edition will retail at $39’500.

That’s all for now for the release of the Shrike. Four more will be unveiled at a later date as finer tuning is being finalized.
Only then, the roars and screams of the big V6s and V8s will come to fruition for the Shrike. For those eager for the power hungry
Shrikes, stay tuned!

Three of the four cars has been finalised, and pending for unveiling. The last one, however, is going through yet another engine overhaul.
We found more hidden potential from the chassis, and decided to unleash it. Here’s… a sneak preview of its performance stats…

All we can say is… it’s definitely eager to scream…

*Hello, and welcome to the second part of the unveiling of the Shrike cars. You have seen the entry level packs of the Shrike,
now it’s time to step it up a notch; the range where everyone is eager; the proper V6s and V8s. Also known as the Spec-Class Shrikes,
these cars were made with the inspiration from a certain fighter.

Once again, we would like to inform you that interior and infotainment are all equal throughout the range.

Here are the clues. The name itself; Shrike. A type of bird, nicknamed the “Butcher Bird”, due to its feeding habits. Doesn’t the name
Butcher Bird sound familiar? Yes, indeed, the feared Focke-Wulf FW-190.*

Shrike F-Spec

The F-Spec is equipped with the familiar Orion V8 from the first generation Tenryuu; a 3500cc DOHC 40 valve Naturally Aspirated Crossplane V8
developing 410hp, capable of hitting 310kmh, and a 0-100kmh in 4.4 seconds.

The Shrike F-Spec will retail at $42’000

Shrike A-Spec

The A-Spec is equipped with Battalion’s all-new 4200cc Naturally Aspirated “Code 801” V6 engine developing a healthy 430hp.
While having a lower top speed than the F-Spec, 306kmh, it hits 100kmh from 0 in 4.3 seconds, and boasting better fuel economy
at 9.85 litres per 100km (28.6mpg).

The Shrike A-Spec will retail at $42’000, the same as the F-Spec. That way, you can either choose better fuel economy, or the full fledged V8.

Shrike D-Spec

The D-Spec features a redesigned 5995cc DOHC 32 valve Crossplane V8 called the “Jumo 213”, based on the Emden Rage’s MOHV V8, and rebuilt with DOHC mechanics,
and bored out. This results a power output of 655hp, a top speed of 340kmh, and a 0-100kmh timing of 4.2 seconds.

The Shrike D-Spec will retail at $64’000, and an extended warranty of 6 years instead of the usual 3 years for mechanical failures, so don’t miss it!

*And there we have it, a total of 6 versions have been released. From the EcoRun, to the D-Spec. But as a successor to the Emden family, it certainly needs a
flagship. That’s where the Rage comes in. And as the overhaul is underway, so does its performance. The preview post is already obsolete. It just got faster…
The past 6 iterations of the Shrikes had been using Manual gearbox, and matched with either a 5-sped, or 6-speed, this one boasts 7, and not a manual stickshift.

The last iteration of the Shrike just got angrier. Stay tuned.*

Kampf: 12 incidents, ladies and gentlemen. Twelve incidents regarding the last iteration of the Shrike muscle car happened, making it one of the most
dangerous builds we have ever done. Everything we have done on the car was experimental, and 9 prototypes of this version of the Shrike perished. Too…
show the scale of these incidents, here’s the list on what that had occurred, which led to the finalized, 10th prototype affectionately called “Mokou”, a reference
to Fujiwara no Mokou, a character from a game series “Touhou Project”

1st incident: 1st Prototype, used same engine as the D-Spec model, uprated to 706hp @ 7900rpm on Octane 95 fuel. Catastrophic engine failure. Engine cover
broke through the bonnet, and lodged itself onto the roof of the garage. No one was injured, car was salvaged and repaired. Engine was scrapped.

2nd Incident: 1st Prototype, same engine as D-Spec model, turbocharged, 752hp @ 7600rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Engine failure resulting in the turbocharger
exploding within the engine bay, effectively killing the engine, and weirdly enough, weaken the rigidity of the front of the car. Engine and car was scrapped,
and no one was injured.

3rd Incident: 2nd Prototype, same engine as the Emden Rage, uprated to 690hp @ 8000rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Brought out to the test track for a test run.
Gearbox failure in the first lap, after the second corner. Left part of the test track littered with fragments of metal. Test track was closed for clean up, gearbox scrapped,
no one was injured.

4th Incident: 2nd Prototype, same engine as the Emden Rage, uprated again to 720hp @ 8100rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Brought out to the test track for a test run, Ukyo
volunteers as test driver. Car skids on a high speed bend at last reported speed of 227kmh, slamming into the safety barrier rearwards, Ukyo was sent to hospital,
and was diagnosed with whiplash. Was on medical leave for 1 month. He is still having symptoms of it as of now, mainly weakness to his left arm, and occasional
headaches. Car and engine was scrapped.

5th Incident: 3rd Prototype, all-new 6200cc DOHC V8, 683hp @ 7500rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Brought out to test track, Kampf as test driver. Suspension, both front and rear collapsed
at 300kmh, skidding on the underpanel on the tarmac before flipping upside down upon going off the surface and onto the grass at approximately 100kmh. Minor cuts and bruises on
Kampf. Car was scrapped, engine salvaged.

6th Incident: 4th Prototype, 6200cc DOHC V8, 732hp @ 7700rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Brought out to test track, Kampf as test driver. Leaking fuel line resulting an engine fire just after
3 laps. Kampf escapes unscathed, but both car and engine are scrapped.

7th Incident: 5th Prototype, 6800cc DOHC V8, 755hp @ 7800rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Brought out to the test track, Lean as test driver. Car skids on the same high speed bend as Ukyo’s
at last reported speed of 265kmh. Crashes into the safety barrier head-on. Immense inertia caused the car to flip over the barrier, and out of the track, crumpling her own car from the
roof, an Opel Manta B. Lean was immediately taken to hospital. Broken 3 ribs, fractured right arm just below the elbow, fractured right leg below the knee, and a cracked left shoulder blade.
She is still warded, and would not be active for approximately the next 10 months. Her behaviour, though, is still the same, happy-go-lucky individual. The car was scrapped, while the engine,
salvaged. Lean’s Opel Manta B is still in the vicinity, have yet to be repaired.

8th Incident: 6th Prototype, 6800cc DOHC V8, bored out to 6900cc, 801hp @ 7900rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Raquel volunteers to be the test driver. Front right tyre bursts in the 5th lap, resulting
the car to skid out of control and crash into the divider for the entrance to the pit stop. Flames erupt just seconds after Raquel got out of the car, unharmed. Car and engine scrapped.

9th Incident: 7th Prototype, 7000cc DOHC V8, 825hp @ 7600rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Catastrophic engine ‘implosion’, destroying the crank, pistons, and crankshaft during rolling road testing.
The engine was working fine when it was tested alone 2 days prior. Engine was scrapped.

10th Incident: 7th Prototype, 6900cc DOHC V8, 800hp @ 7900rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Bristol covers Raquel as test driver as she was on medical leave due to fever. Loss of control on the straight
on the 8th lap followed by engine cut-off, but was able to come to a halt safely. Steering rack had collapsed, and taken out the fuel line. No fires occurred. Car was scrapped.

11th Incident: 8th Prototype, redesigned internals, 6900cc DOHC V8, 850hp @ 8100rpm on Octane 98 fuel. Bristol covers as test driver once again; Raquel was assigned to assist Ukyo for the
time being to manage the interns that had just joined a week ago. Car was on the final corner before conclusion of the test drive when the front left wheel came loose, causing the car to lose
control, out of the tarmac, and flip several times at last recorded speed of 120kmh. Bristol was sent to hospital for a cracked skull, minor whiplash, and a fractured right ankle. Currently on a 5
month medical leave. Car and engine was scrapped.

12th Incident: 9th Prototype improved internals, 7200cc DOHC V8, 835hp @ 8500rpm on Octane 100 fuel. Rikako volunteers to be test driver. Brake failure that results her in crashing after
the long straight at 340kmh, head-on into the safety barrier before flipping over it with such force, it landed upside down onto the main parking lot, impaling a brand new Shrike EcoRun
from the boot. Due to further safety improvements, Rikako left unscathed except for a few bruises on the knees, elbows, and left cheek. Car and engine was scrapped. Raquel comes in to
supervise the build, Rikako stays on to work a collaboration with Kampf for the engine.

Kampf: Yes, it was very unfortunate that Ukyo, Bristol, and Lean suffered the most during this build, but with their opinions after having a chance to view the finalized product,
they have not regretted their decisions. And back then, when we mentioned that this… version of the Shrike would be angrier, we meant it. It bit us, threw us, spat at us,
like a wild, untamed German Shepherd. And as time goes on, it got stronger, angrier, more uncontrollable. We knew. We understood that. Yet, we pushed on. Nine prototypes
later, we did it. At its strongest, we tamed it. And now, it begs for something else. Now, it wants to get along with you. Thing is, can you?

And if you were wondering who is this “Mokou” we reference to for our current prototype, the image below kinda explains it.

Image from hetza aka hellshock.

And now…

This is, the Shrike Rage Edition

This menace is equipped with one of the biggest engines ever developed in Battalion; a 7830cc DOHC 32 Valve Crossplane V8 called the “Jumo 004”,
developing a fiery 965hp at 7800rpm, and 907Nm of torque at 7200rpm. It’s equipped with a 7-speed sequential gearbox; a vast difference compared to the past Shrikes.
Matching it with a chassis, and weighting in at 1695kg, this enraged Shrike is able to hit 100kmh from naught within 4 seconds…

And a top speed just over 400kmh…

And for this beast, for all the trouble developing it, the risks we have taken to tame up and nurture it to what it has become, we at Battalion are still
drivers at heart.

The Shrike Rage will retail at $120’000, and inclusive of an extended 8 year warranty for mechanical failures.

Kampf: And with that, I shall leave you with a song from Undead Corporation, Xing Noises,
which signifies not only to us when we develop the Shrike Rage. Now, it’s the car’s turn seeking you. Conquer her, my fellow, potential customers.

your development history was brilliant

Aww Kampf.
You’re still not close to Airborne failed prototypes record - in 1977 the Company built 41 failed prototypes

http://l.wigflip.com/jkh5TA2J/wigflip-ds.gif

That’s a mean grunt you got there in the Rage. It would make for a good direct competitor to the build I’ve just fine for NormanVauxhall’s Zeus: significantly more expensive, yes, but also higher prestige, top speed, better fuel economy, slightly better comfort for it. EDIT: got that wrong, but the comfort is fairly comparable anyway.

What happens if you were to put semi slicks 8+ on it? (What I like to call P Zero Corsa spec, since that’s about the same price).
