If you look at where Small ends and Medium begins, there’s only a 3mm margin in Bore and a 6mm margin in Stroke.
The problem is, how long is a piece of string? This could go on forever, till we have 1mm Bore in Extra large and 150mm Bore in Small, but without being too extreme, I suggest that the margins could be increased a bit more, my engine for example would only need 1mm of room in the Large for Stroke, or 4mm of room for Bore in Medium.
This was one of the first things we fixed in the ongoing revamp of the Engine Designer There are NO block-sizes anymore: instead you can move bore & stroke within 30% of each other between 50mm and 120mm.

Hi I hope this is in the right post, I tried to recreate a VW polo 2008 1.6 trendline my ex-wifes car , the specs are this
Engine Layout
transverse inline 4
Aspiration natural
Valves sohc 2 valves per cylinder
Bore / Stroke 87.0x76.5
Capacity 1598
Compression Ratio 10.0:1
Power Output 74kw@5500
Torque 140nm@3300
when I try copy these bore/stroke settings I get a I get a 1819cc, its not a problem as all I done was change other settings to get a close kw output but for authenticity it should be right, I hope yous dont think I am being picky was just trying to copy these specs , thanks for reading
