430 hp / 1680 kg = 0.256 power/weight, close.
But i think i saw my car shift to 5:th gear in the race, the “SUV” has only 4 gears, weird.

My car ended up being almost 4 sec slower in qualifying than Automation but it was still a good race. I noticed that a lot of cars, including me, started with a third of a tank. Is this because we had only what we needed to get to our first scheduled pitstop? Anyways, thank you Der Bayer for doing this, every time I participate in these events I learn something new about Automation.
My Qualifying time is 4 seconds slower than the Automation Test Track time in the game, but I am supprised to see that my Solid Axle car did not place last.

Much more fuel? 35-45 kg extra is a lot on cars around 1000kg.[/quote]
Well, actually I was quite a bit faster with the fuel load of 47kg. in the 10-lap I was running2:23’s while in qualifying I ran a 2:25. In Automation it runs 2:21.xx.
it’s not too late to participate right?
kinda miss the pre-season test there…
also, may someone do a favor for me and post a screenshot of the BRCTool program here?
much appreciated
Here you go koolkei.

Very interesting race. I did well overall (16th place), but was still about 2s off of the leader pace. Not taking tires during refuel cost me any chance of position climbing in the 2nd half of the race as they were getting quite worn by lap 25, costing me even more time losses. Economy isn’t a strong suit for the motor, but the suspension handles quite well I think!
Ok, that was interesting. My car received a lot of damage mostly due to driver error. At one point it had 25% damage.
Does overall car damage also impact engine failure. About 1 lap later my car was out due to that it seems or is this not correlated at all?
Ok, I just saw all the videos. My personal summary of them:
PROS
CONS
Question for D.B. Cooper, AKA Der Bayer: can I redo my car or is it to late?
Deadline has not been announced yet, so we are still in testing phase. Per the rules in the first post, as with all previous BRC seasons, re-submissions are allowed until the deadline has been reached.
Since my PC wants so badly to die on me, i’m only starting building my car right now. It’s gonna take a few hours…
Sarted 21st finished 6th, got some work to do on front tyre wear and overall speed.
I needed half a lap
Well done to the other podium finishers. Fair to say I really enjoyed the race with the battle against Riso. I admit I thought it was going to be over when I pitted at 60% rain, but I was catching the leaders back.
Now, back to the drawing board and fixing the few issues while being faster.
I’m taking a look at the time differences, mostly if all cars are slower somewhat by the same difference or if some cars lose a lot more time than others. It will be sorted out before the challenge starts.
I learned a lot from the testrace. I found another 2 seconds at the Automation track, I have better drivability and less agressive camber settings.
So I expect to go faster, make less errors and to have less tyre wear.
Mmph - I was going to test out a new car, but guven all the weird technical glitches, I think I’ll just change race strategy and re-export. I did pretty all right in the race, after all … and my engine turned out to have pretty good fuel economy for my gas tank size.
…but first I’m going to watch the videos on a bigger screen than my phone.
First results of investigations:
I will do a quick training video to show the new results. Please let me know then if your performance is still worse than you think it should be.
I have sooo much work to do! I need to find a couple of seconds… Speaking of which my qualy time is also 1 sec slower than standing start time in the game…
About future (or past) races: How common is rain? Because at this race, tyre friendliness and low consumption did not help me much.
oh and one more thing: Der Bayer, this looks awesome! Thanks for taking your time.
EDIT: What does Driver error percentage mean?
Rain is something completely new to the BRC, so nobody knows yet how “common” it will be. Driver error percentage is how severe the error is. When severe enough, it results in damage to the car (the damage is also new to the BRC). Previously the only damage was received during collisions, IIRC.
well, i just hope the weather is not really presented how bad the british isle weather. i mean is not like every race we gonna get rain, right?
Nobody knows yet. We’ll find out this season!
