When I change something in the trim tab it updates only the trim, not the things i’ve changed at the engine.
@Matti What exactly do you mean? Was the fuel estimation completely off? It is expected that during racing fuel consumption can be a bit higher. For example when your car is drafting a lot, has to accelerate from standstill after driving errors or just is much faster because it’s starting with less fuel. Do you think safety margins are too low or too high?
You can start on intermediate tyres by setting the slicks to intermediate threshold to 0.
@mer_at Way too much fuel in qualifying??? When exactly did that happen? I think you barely could make it back to the pits with the amount left in the tank.
@FrankNSTein I don’t know what’s happening for you there. This might happen when you switch the engine variant when the car was loaded in BRCTool already, but should fix itself when the tool is restarted. I really have no idea. Somehow the link between the car and the engine seems to be broken.
@FrankNStein I think I had that happen but I’m not 100% sure what I did to fix it. If restarting the game and BRCtool does not work, I would try exporting the car(s) you have in the game, moving the old Car and Engine folders somewhere else (for backup) and re-extracting the car.
Could someone do BRC tool for me? it doesn’t work on my pc. It used to work fine. i reinstalled it and removed old save files. So could someone do it for me?
Are you definitely running as Administrator? Definitely in the correct location etc?
Yeah, i am. other people have asked me the same thing.
@Pboy123 - I have had the default location of Automation change on me several times in the past year even though it looks correct. When you start Automation check reset your path even if it shows the correct path to you data folder. I started getting nested paths that ended up 3-5 deep at one point.
Yes i know the path, btw it’s really messed up. But it’s ok, puffster did the brctool for me.

Competition is getting stronger and stronger! One PST to go on Thursday!
PST5_csv.zip (4.4 KB)
How come I’m not in? i sent you a pm with the file for the test.
my path is 7 deep.
You’re in. Look.
With some final changes I believe I’m done with 76’s car. I have some final doubts in gearing cooling. Not sure how far should I limit my top speed and reliability. We shall see, right…
Me and @nerd are the only ones with more than 90 kg of fuel, hmmmm… Maybe time to try another body.
But i get 20 laps, not like those with tiny cars and thirsty engines: 8 laps?!?
So there I was, not quite as fast as I had wanted after probably 10+ hours of brainstorming and meticulously peeling tenth after tenth (and then hundredth after hundredth) off my NA car’s lap times. Still too slow. Good but not great.
And then I thought, fine I’ll take an hour or two and make a turbonaut just to get a feel for the fuel consumption and tire wear.
(I’ll decide what to run after the next test. There is tough competition in the NA’s corner, but the turbonaut is… fairly exciting to drive.)
Ah! I’ve dropped 10 places! Not actually sure why though, only change I’ve made since last time was to reduce the rear downforce (for more speed and better economy, but apparently not so). Could this change have played a part @Der_Bayer or is the competition simply getting better?
Also, I don’t mean to be rude, but I don’t think I’ve noticed @CriticalSet9849 until now; damn you have a fast car!
I may be fighting to keep my car competitive, but 14th best fuel economy for a 6L V8 is something that I’m particularly proud of at the moment.
Thanks @DeusExMackia I only joined prior to test 4 so not noticing me is completely understandable
@DeusExMackia: Yes and yes. Look where I have dropped to. I always used the same car from the first test on. Now I’m right in the middle of the pack.
Another thing is slightly random laptime fluctuations. Always take a look at all your laptimes, not only the fastest one, to see if you are faster or slower in general.
