BRC 1976 - Under Pressure [E8-Q]

A pit window strategy. I like it. Not a set %/lap, but a 2-5 lap/% window.

@Denta SOMEONE ELSE WHO WATCHES RCR! YES :grinning:

@pyrlix and @Der_Bayer, the backstory plan (as I shall now be calling it ;)) sounds good. Expect something from me at some point!

@HowlerAutomotive That looks like an excellent solution.

I see where you are going, but I think any sub classes just over complicates it. Weā€™re better off just looking at body types for that kinda thing or something.

iā€™m pretty sure thereā€™s quite a lot of us that silently watches RCRā€¦ and MCM

Just to add to what has already been said:

As someone who does sports commentary, you have to understand that us ā€œannouncers/commentators/hostsā€ have extensive notes in the real world. I turn my microphone off at points because Iā€™m shuffling through papers to get to the tidbits of information I have written down somewhere (provided Iā€™m not in our one really nice press box where thereā€™s a big desk and Iā€™m 3 stories over a soccer pitch sized field). Thatā€™s also with people in my headset telling me even more information from their vantage point. Thatā€™s why Hockenheim was difficult for us during the 6 hour stint. We didnā€™t have much information, we didnā€™t have previous races with the same cars to build a story line out of, and it was a long race.

So as @pyrlix and @Der_Bayer have said, give us things to work with. Iā€™ve noticed that the team is pretty good at improvising some story line on the fly, but if we have notes on the cars going in (and specific notes about design choices, when you chose to pit, why you went with the reliability and safety numbers you did, and other things that effect random BRC events your car may be involved in) we can build a much more holistic story and it really gives much more material that we can talk about at length.

Would it be worth making some sort of all access google document that people can add notes about their cars? Like a sort of cheat sheet?

Seems a reasonable solutionā€¦

Awesome! Thats valid for everyone in this thread too - otherwise we will just go on and talk about BROWN. Give us informations, storylines, design choices or philosophies - but donā€™t spam the thread here. Spam my PM Box for this!
I will sort everything and set up something for the Commentary Team

And its pretty much how @KLinardo says it - we are able to improvise a lot, but we have limits we will eventually hit.

actually. i second @absurdist 's notion.
why not use a google spreadsheet/document that we can access at any time to add our story?

I like that idea, but my only concern is that there could be some trolls afoot that edit things mid-broadcast or edit some things in other peopleā€™s stories. Itā€™s just a little too communal.

We could set something up like a Google doc that could be used as a mid-race interview platform, should the right parties be available, but I think weā€™ll make our own compilation of backstories submitted to @pyrlix via PM.

well the mid race edit is not really much of a concern wonā€™t it? we can just lock it once the race starts.

but the trollsā€¦ i canā€™t deny thatā€¦ iā€™m still thinking of some ways if we can prevent themā€¦ if thatā€™s possibleā€¦ if not. well i guess thatā€™s the only safe way

wait. what about dropbox?
we can submit the story in a file, instead of just the text itself.
and iirc, thereā€™s a note about whoā€™s the uploader of the file is, isnā€™t there?
or this alternative is a bit too much of a hassle?

That.

For Mid-Race Interview stuffs we will always reach on on the YT Chat. Also: If you go for the ā€œUpload to the Dropboxā€ thing you can also upload it to me. Also it would be somewhat more interesting not to have all in the thread, it could spoil people slightly :stuck_out_tongue:

wellā€¦ thatā€™s a point that i didnā€™t considerā€¦

okay then. thatā€™s very acceptable

Iā€™ve found that to be a little delayed at times. It also gets buggy with multiple people replying. We can look into other methods moving forward.

what other ā€˜goodā€™ streaming sites are there?
both yt and twitch have a chat delay anyway. iā€™m not really into live streaming.

unless we use separate streaming and chat window.

as in YT streaming + skype group chat

Discord has streaming, voice and chat but donā€™t ask me if and how that would work.

Discord is more for communicating between people. Streaming stuff and video calling features havenā€™t been completley implemented yet. Very good application though, recommended entirely.
