BRC 1976 - Under Pressure [E8-Q]

Streaming would - as usual - happen via YT. The Skype groupchat got ditched by a different technique… it still exists for communication and timing reasons, but the commentators feed happens elsewhere.
Streaming via Discord is quite weird, I consider it for using it as voice chat and text chat.

My 2cents:

We could come up with some standard questions for all of us (silly, funny, serious, whatever) and then read them in the streaming like an indirect interview…

Umm… If my car has zero back story and was made purely for the competition, can it still get reviewed?

:joy: This could be hilarious!

My thoughts exactly. But hey, we still can talk about design choices and stuff…

Example Cheatsheet

Use this as the template. (@Riso bascially sent in like that first - i liked it)

Short Text:
Choice of car:
Body / Susp.:
Brakes / Tyres:
Aero:
Engine / Drivetrain / Gearbox:
Other car notes:
Race/Season expectations:
Complaints, accusations to throw:

Please PM me if you did one - its not mandatory, but it will add depth to commentary. Please send it as copyable text
You dont need to fill it out completely, and you should not put information in we already have in the drumpf cards.
And please keep it down to a single page only… we dont have space for more!

Lovely template! (cheers @Riso and @Pyrlix)

EDIT: Credited the origins

Of course it is, it’s based on mine :stuck_out_tongue:

It was good. You clearly read what I asked for.

Adding tidbits about rain and pit strategy may also be helpful additions, especially if anyone is going to do something unconventional.

That may be a little much due to general secrecy and the different strategies each track may produce, but it makes the commentary easier!

As long as the commentators are also sending cars that won’t happen.
You can all sit together and think of ideal pit stop strategies and see how it actually shakes out in the race.

I don’t know what you’re usually commentating but nobody in motor sports will share that, I tell you!

I usually commentate Baseball, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, and Soccer.

But I’m well aware of the peculiarity of race teams and their strategy:[quote=“KLinardo, post:1015, topic:16817”]

Awesome work on that Riso. Looks cool.

I think we’ve got an expert commentary team lined up.

Thank you everyone who puts all the effort it so lazy people like me can enjoy it

this season we got a prefessional commentary coming? NEAT!

Apparently several people didn’t read the booklet to learn their aggressive brake pads increase tyre wear.

Norman’s a nice public example.

this is one of the few things i wasnt able to test due to my key loss :frowning: in the end, i decided to ditch my -15 quality brakes for lower rear brake aggressiveness… also, i am hoping for less tyre wear on some tracks compared to ATT. is that actually a thing, e.g. for norisring?

well… on one side, i did read it, but not thoroughly enough…
on another side… even if i did knew… would i change my brake setting? i don’t think so, at least not by that much. i’m already on my traction limit anyway.

Btw. Why do we have 7 rain races out of 8?
Sounds like “look at that cool weather/rain simulation, let’s use it all the time” - instead of trying to reenact reallife.

bu-bu-bu-but… it’s just a ‘forecast’. and not a definite rain…

You are complaining very early. Who said that I wanted to replicate real weather? Changing weather conditions spice things up and together with the rain forecast they allow for interesting strategy decisions. And I wanted to try out how this works for the participants and thus generated some unique rain progressions.

I have to agree with this. Most races should be dry. Especially the up and down of rain during a single race is rather strange. We also used to have races in previous seasons where we went from 80%+ wet to 30%+ wet and then back to 80%+ wet again :frowning:

That doesn’t mean that I’m not grateful for organizing this for us Bayer. I love the racing simulator you have made. It is just that I agree with mer_at on his remark.

I don’t really think it matters. If we have 7 dry races with mostly predictable weather it’ll just be a bit boring. I prefer this, gives the creative a chance to make some gains.
