Used the big body 40’s car, expected last place, moved form 33 start position to 16… I have high hopes for my small body to run in Wednesday night’s test now
I would love to know how dazzazoo managed 188 kph and moved up to the fastest lap time!
Maybe my v8 is too heavy for this, but I just can’t get an inline 6 to match it in any way. O well, gonna send my small body to Bayer tonight or tomorrow and hope for the best on Wednesday!
Good luck all.

O, ok he was DQ’d, thought he got a fix in before the test run. Didn’t realize DQ’d cars where still in the test video.
Why not, they can still use the feedback.
Very true, just wasn’t paying attention.
4th to 11th. Sigh… that was NOT an improvement. But I don’t know what to change. grrr…
hmmm, interesting. I knew that going for a super light option was going to cause massive top end speed issues, and it looks like my tyre wear is higher than my fuel consumption (2nd most economical overall). I could probably do quite a bit more on the power and weight end of things, clearly there’s a balance to be struck between power, traction and drag.
Good job everyone, so many of your cars are so fast! Those straightaway speeds are incredible. A big thanks to Der Bayer for making it all happen. This is really fun and adds so much to the game.
I’m pretty happy with my car’s performance. I had only ever built one full car and actually used that template for my race car. Just like in real life, what you learn on the track can help you on the street I suppose. I obviously have a lot to learn I might tinker with it tomorrow night for Wednesdays test run. Having to stay above that 30th place mark puts a little pressure and desire to chop a couple seconds of my lap. Especially being I am right on the wire
I want to keep tinkering with my car’s engine, but I just can’t keep the weight of my car high enough to match the engine’s power increase. Already installed basic safety as a ballast and still barely under the .15 rule.
However, revised my car a bit and based on the gearing, can either run sub 10 minutes on Green Hell or shave a full 1s+ on the other tracks. The gearing difference between these two is where I am currently sitting so I have better times on GH and the shorter tracks. Maybe I’ll find the extra power I need somewhere, but I’m already at .1499 and $6,993.58 :\
You were damn close to 10th… 0.02s off of my time. Now I have to find 5 seconds somewhere and probably 20s on green hell.
I wonder how Leo has his car set up, very efficient, almost no tire wear and the fastest legal lap time.
Well. I wasn’t as fast as I’d like. But my tire wear was low and that was my goal. But holy crap. Mer_at! Not one point of tyre wear and a really fast time!
Back to the drawing board.
Damn it, I can’t even be last…
Seriously now, I’m hit by Confuse Ray, cause I sent a revision the same day when the test video was in and I don’t know which version was used. I’m seriously thinking what to do…try to make a final final revise or forget about it and wait for the next series…

What type of engine are you using? You could take a look at my engine in my auto company’s forum (link in signature) for ideas on where your engine should be to get into at least mid-pack. V8 POWAH!
It was probably the old one, sorry, but the video was already done or under making when you sent your car.
Yesterday (before making the video), I made a small change with big effect: At first I always loaded a driver (weight 70 kg) into each car. Because of the pretty shitty tyres, this caused severe issues for some players (best being watched when starting). Because this effect cannot be watched in the game, I removed the driver weight. So now the relative car performance is much closer to the performance in the game again, which should make it easier to understand why your car does perform good or bad. Anyway, here is the revised video without driver weight (car had to be submitted ~8 hours ago):
Awwww yeah, made to 15th with my big car. JasonPoland, you made it to 24th this time!
My files crashed and burned, so I came up with a new design altogether to run in the actual competition. I THINK it’s faster than the old one. Not sure. Guess I’ll find out.

Actually you did better, you gained a almost a second, it just wasnt enough to keep Absurdist from passing your time. I have no idea what to tweak on my car anymore, I am at a complete loss… oh well.
I lost two spaces - I guess for a heavy car 70kg is less of a penalty.
Der Bayer: do you have any plans to allow economical cars to start with less fuel to save weight? I don’t know if you were measuring in liters, gallons, or kilograms, but whatever you were using, there were 16-23 excess in the tanks at the end of the tenth flying lap - and in a sprint race, that probably matters.
(I say this as one of the 17s.)
Ah I see now. Thanks for pointing that out. I have to admit that I am a little excited to get home from work and play with my car today, but I am on the same boat as you. I really don’t know what to start messing with. My engine has a ton of power that can be easily added back to it with no extra costs, but adding weight to the car to meet the hp/kg limit adds too much $$$ for the final cost limit. So I think about all I can do is tweak suspension settings to get a little more drivability for The Stig.
