don’t count your egg before the race is hatched… or something like that
anyone can still crash out at the race… we should all pray for luck to the gods of automation

(Apropos of nothing: apparently Discourse wants to make a note of it when anyone quotes an entire comment … even though I usually quote an entire comment so I can excerpt the parts I want to keep properly. Ah, well.)
Can confirm Packbat commentating?[/quote]
I have to confess I was speaking purely hypothetically, but if someone wants to invite me into a Skype call, they probably wouldn’t have to twist my arm too hard…
The NCAA Division I Announcer would also not mind that hypothetical scenario.
I realise that but i feel as though my car will be less likely to go out. Safety is pretty high drive/sport is good and engine reliability is also pretty good, but you never know with how things have gone in other brc races.
For the commentary:
The format has yet to be determined. We want to go for a roughly 3hr Stream - which requires a “serious” amount of commentators, with a commentator rotation in the middle somewhere.
Maybe having some other content while the race like interviews, reviews or other stuff.
I just need to know the day. If I am available I can comment.
Just tell me when, I want to be there for some of the stream
My 71 reliability engine blew in one of the BRC '66 races so anything is possible. Not the most likely scenario, but sometimes luck is not on your side.
That would be cool, as this is done in the middle of long races irl, and would add to the content/entertainment value.
i’d like to comment on the races, or at least try.
but i’m not going to do that at 1 am. it bothers my family sleeping. so… pretty unlikely.
anyway. i think i made my car tanky enough. relatively high safety and reliability. but… this is an endurance, and now there’s driver fatigue, and this is the part that concerns me. not the best drivability score.
I have a short question for strategy:
I don´t really understand the SC reaction time.
Does it mean that if you are x min away of your next planed pitstop you will stop?
Yes, exactly that. If the SC is triggered and your next stop is less than x minutes away, you will pit immediately.
Oh I was wondering what that was… I left it at 10min, it should probably be 3-5mins… As long as we submit by the end of the day right?
I wouldn’t say 10 min is bad at all.
I’m worried my scheduled 45min pit stops will become 35 min pitstops. because won’t I always be going in ~10 mins early?
You would only go in 10 minutes early if there was a safety car within 10 minutes of a scheduled stop.
Well, given a sc lap 37 minutes in, and you have a sc time between 10 and 0, it’s either you pit on safety car, or you pit like a lap or two after (depending on your times of course)
At least that’s how I see it with my 2:23 lap times. I just left it at 10, and if I do end up pitting on a SC lap once or twice, that will give me a better chance of ending the race on good tires due to my pit strategy.
OH SAFTEY CAR I didn’t connect the dots Nevermind forget every thing I said.
