for a good instance Toyota has Lexus, and as we know Lexus uses Toyota engines

what i want to know, can i make a main company that makes, cheap reliable cars and use it’s cheap, reliable engines with a few upgrades to power my (insert sport/racing/luxury etc) division cars?

Yes, we are planning on adding the possibility of having different branches… as this is so common in the automotive industry.
