Cestalis 1000km Multiclass Endurance - [DESIGN VOTE RESULTS]

@DoesStuff s GTC entry indeed has 30 profile tires, which are my fault and mine alone. I apologize to my collaborators for being affected by my first legitimate bin.

As for @rotomfan’s TCD, I understand it got renamed in a hasty and confused last-minute reorganization. @danicoptero, I ask you to let this minor error pass, and allow the otherwise legal car to compete. It’s the reasonable thing to do.

4 door coupe bodies are a thing in the game? I had no idea. I always viewed it as a sedan since it had… 4 doors, and since it could fit two full rows of seats. I suppose it’s too late for an appeal (or a last minute change to the wagon variant).

Oh well, I now hedge my bets on the Krypton.

DAMNIT! >_<;

I swear I checked everything… sigh

Congrats to all the fellow allowed entrants!

Just wanna briefly mention one thing that makes me wonder. My entry has an 6969 ccm (I know the boys will appreciate this displacement ) engine. Doesn’t that mean it’s actually an 7.0L not a 6.9L engine? Just wondering.

I’ve updated the post to make it clearer that @RMcDoug and @rotomfan are only getting one car rejected. The other is allowed to race without penalties.

Yea same, idk how i missed that

Yeah same case for me… My entries have a 2.0 L but in the sheet it’s written 1.9. Also, my #40 is RWD as the #92. It might make no difference, but in case it does I just wanted to point that out.

I only rounded up engines over XX80cc.

Yeah that’s a mistake, both cars should be FR.

I’m very intrigued at how little rear engined cars there are (only 3 people chose to have rear engines)
Also intrigued by how many car names include ‘GTC’ or ‘TCD’, an intriguing choice of name for sure

Ours is RR as well

also, like, gtc and tcd are required to be in the name

They’re not required to be in the name that was used in that chart - just the model and family name. The names here are all variant names. That’s why names like “RVT TurboTen”, “ACZ Krypton” and “Atun Automotive T3 Showcar” are all legal.

But a lot of real cars use the series in their name, because it’s the natural way to separate “car, street version” and “car, but for this race class”. There’s the CLK DTM (and the rest of DTM), the Huracan GT3 et al, the Ferrari 488 GTE and many, many others. They don’t have to but it’s easy.

ah ok

Eheh, I was gonna name mine the ACZ Krypton GTC, but I forgot to put it in the title

If any of you are wondering what 9.1 liters buys in this round:

I’m curious: don’t you lose a lot of Rear acceleration grip due to having such a big engine at the front?

First gear is a doozie, even with 30 engineering hours pushing the engine back as far as it could go. it went from 71/29 to 62/38 f/r weight distribution. The aero holds it down after 100KPH.

That why I decided to downsize my 5L V8 to a 3.5L V6
So I can manage an almost 50/50 ratio (51.8F/48.2R) and gain more traction.

My charts for comparaison:

Why is it called "Free" Practice if I have to pay to watch it?.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

FREE PRACTICE

The cars hit the track for the first time in the weekend and we can finally get an idea of what the standings will be. However, this is only practice so some positions might still change when everyone goes all out in qualifying.

These are the laptimes for every car before applying modifiers:

GTC

The clear favorite in GTC is Tristella-Zacspeed. If they can avoid issues during the race, a podium sweep seems likely.

It’s a good showing for the two rear-engined GTCs by Tarske and Clari too, who will try to fight for a podium. While the Tarske is easier to drive and more reliable, Clari has the advantage of having a third car.

Behind them is a massive pack, with cars from Vistella, Zephorus, Tioro, Accurate, SMC and Goatherd. With how close this group is, staying out of trouble will be key, so the Zephorus and the Tioro might have an edge over the other cars.

ACZ and Norton could be argued to be a part of this group too, although they are a step behind the previously mentioned competitors and will need some luck to gain positions.

At the bottom of the main pack are Yinzer, Crowley, Mars, Hoffsman, DBR, Pospichal and Vidar. Even if they’re closer to the bottom we could have a nice battle between them. It should also be noted that the Hoffsman and the DBR will have to take a 1minute stop & go penalty on the opening laps of the race, so it’s going to be an uphill battle for these teams.

The backmarkers from RVT and Montiago might also have a battle to not be last. Considering the 10s penalty the Montiagos have to take on their first stop and their less than ideal drivability and reliability, they are in for a difficult weekend.

TCD

It’s much closer at the top of the TCD class, with Homada and RyuSport very close to each other. However, the much easier to drive FWD Homada seems to have the advantage over the sketchier RyuSport.

They’re followed by Mara, McDoug, Queenland and CannutRus; all of whom will be looking for a podium should one of the top cars fail. The entries from Clari and Yinzer aren’t far from them either.

After them is a large pack with cars from DBR, Montesano, FAE, Planar, Pospichal, Hokudo and Markov. Both the DBR and the Markov have to take a 1 minute stop & go penalty, so they will lose a lot of time in the opening laps of the race.

The experimental E100 from Atun is also part of this group in terms of pace. However, due to it’s higher fuel consumption it will need to stop one more time than the rest of the field to make it to the end.

The underpowered cars from Terafur and Solothum are at the bottom of the TCD class. Considering their pace, these teams will need to avoid issues if they want a good result.

3rd slowest GTC time? oooooof…

I guess I just cross my fingers and hope the driveability stat helps me somehow :S

Just a suggestion for next time, to make sure all cars and bodies are viable, maybe have a BoP sort of thing to make the gaps smaller, because 3 seconds between 1st and 2nd is disgusting. I would try multiplying the gaps by 0.1 (and changing laptimes to fit that). This would make the fastest car only 0.3 seconds faster than everything else while still meaning that how fast your car is matters
