Anychance you lads and lasses would send me some of the cars so i can run them in beam? I like the way most of these look and im wanting to do some TA at midway (probably just for me maybe do something nerdy like a raceday coverage magazines idk dont hold your breath ha-ha)
Sure, im curious how mine drives.
Here’s what happens when you betray the almighty spooling snail to go full N/A screamer… #onlykicksintheass
I guess I’ll rely on reliability LOL oh no it’s half italian
Oh no
I did on my own accord, and they kinda suck (or at least keyboard isn’t the optimal control method)
Well, I am glad to see that my entry falls smack bang in the middle of TCD, right where I wanted it to go.
Shame about the range issues, but it makes sense with the energy density of the fuel. Unless you push hard to maximise and massage the potential of ethanol, it’ll just do that - and I very much didn’t, going for a simple big NA engine. Looking forward to seeing the results.
I do want to ask though, how will the aesthetics of it be evaluated? I didn’t see it in the TCD poll.
the few i tested on controller were pretty good so far. I even got a rear engine car that drives well (They’re the bane of my automation career haha)
It should have been on the TCD poll, but I missed it. I’ll do a poll just for that car.
QUALIFYING
Some things that you should know:
- In case of a tie, the car with the highest design score has the advantage.
- Each place is a 0.2s advantage at the start of the race over the following car.
- Starting grid will be split by class. Even if a TCD is faster than a GTC it will start behind all of the GTCs.
- There will be a 5s gap at the start between the last GTC and the first TCD.

NEXT: Race
RACE - PART 1
It’s finally time for the race. This post will cover the first 49 laps of the race (for the GTC leaders, lapped cars will obviously complete fewer laps.)
After a formation lap, the safety car pulled into the pits and the #52 Tristella-Zacspeed was left to lead the pack. At 11:00 as the cars started to come out from the last turn, the green flag was waved and the Cestalis 1000km oficially started.
It was a clean start for both classes with few changes in GTC but a lot of overtakes on TCD, with the #68 RyuSport losing first place to both of the Homadas. On lap 3, cars #10, #45, #51, #55 and #59 took their 60s stop & go penalty.
A few laps later, on lap 10, the #69 Mars started smoking and stopped next to the track. Fire started coming from under the hood and the car became the first retirement of the race.
Over the next 16 laps, the more cars started to have issues, with several cars getting their first penalties.
Race control: Drive-through penalty for abusing track limits: (Laps 1-26)
Lap 16: #72 SMC
Lap 17: #4 Zephorus & #93 Accurate
Lap 19: #91 Clari
Lap 21: #6 Pospichal & #87 Mara
Lap 22: #89 Clari
Lap 26: #30 Norton & #59 Markov
Bigger issues would appear for the #29 Vistella that had been fighting for a top 10. On lap 26, the car pulled into the pits after the driver reported electronic issues. Luckily, a quick reboot seemed to fix the problem and the car was able to continue, although it lost many positions.
The first scheduled pit stop would come on the next lap from the #79 Atun. This meant that the experimental E100 entry would need an extra pit stop to make it to the end, so the car was expected to drop down at the closing stages of the race. The rest of the field stopped over the two following laps, with the Montiagos taking their 10s penalties.
A few laps later, more cars would stop having mechanical issues. On lap 33, the #16 Pospichal was pulled into the garage for urgent repairs. After losing two laps in the pits, it came out in last place but with the issues fixed. Then on lap 35, the #88 Queenland started smoking and was pulled into the garage too. However the car would never come out again, with the team retiring the car a few laps later because of a broken engine.
Some small mechanical issues would strike the #25 FAE (Lap 39); the #87 Mara (Lap 37) that already had to serve a drive-through earlier; and the #7 CannutRus (Lap 41) that received a drive-through penalty while being repaired and had to serve it on the next lap.
Race control: Drive-through penalty for abusing track limits: (Laps 27-49)
Lap 38: #57 Montiago
Lap 41: #7 CannutRus
There were also some small crashes on these laps, with both the #85 Mara (Lap 35) and the #3 Tioro (Lap 46) losing 0.7s per lap, and the #70 Hokudo (Lap 39) losing 0.6s per lap. These cars are expected to lose an aditional 30s on their next stop.

Quick correction, I mixed up cars #57 and #97.
#97 is in P40 (P49 overall)
#57 is in P41 (P50 overall)
RACE - PART 2
This post will cover laps 50-98 (for the leaders). As we approach half distance, we see more reliabilty issues and driver mistakes.
A couple of TCDs had issues on laps 47 and 48 (since they were lapped and didn’t reach those laps on part 1, I’m covering these incidents now). The first of them, the #73 Yinzer took a small hit on lap 47 only losing 0.1s per lap. On the next lap, the #68 RyuSport had to take a drive-through for exceeding track limits, losing 20s to the TCD leaders.
The next laps would be catastrophic for the Claris. On lap 50, the #90 TCD had to make an emergency stop for some quick fixes and #82 GTC suddenly stopped on track without any warning, becoming the third retirement of the race. Then, just three laps later, the #81 GTC also had to make an emergency stop. After these terrible 4 laps, the Claris kept going without any futher issues (for now at least).
On lap 54, as the #79 Atun was taking it’s second pit stop, the driver of the #87 Mara lost control of the car and crashed hard into the barriers. The car was unable to make it to the pits and had to retire.
The rest of the field took their second stops on laps 56-58, and all the damaged cars took this opportunity to repair them.
Cars repaired on the second pit stops:
#3 Tioro
#70 Hokudo
#73 Yinzer
#85 Mara
A few cars had to make extra stops to fix mechanical issues over the next few laps, with the #62 Vidar stopping on lap 60, the #19 RVT on lap 61 and both the #74 Yinzer and the #40 Solothurn on lap 64. Additionally, drive-through penalties were issued for the #77 Planar and the #93 Accurate.
On lap 65, the #60 Hokudo crashed and left some debris outside of the racing line, with its teammate the #70 Hokudo hitting it three laps later and getting damaged again only ten laps after it was repaired. The former losing 0.7s per lap while the later had lighter damage and was losing 0.2s per lap.
The driver of the #63 Vidar reported transmission issues on lap 69 and had to go into the garages. The car emerged from the pits with the issues fixed three laps later, although it was now last in the GTC class.
More mechanical issues started appearing on the next 13 laps. The #1 Tristella-Zacspeed, the #6 Pospichal, the #7 CannutRus, the #59 Markov and the #65 Goatherd all had to pull into the pits to fix different issues. There were also several drive-through penalties on these laps, with the biggest ones being the ones for the #52 Tristella-Zacspeed and the #23 Homada.
With its main competitors having issues, both the #35 Tristella-Zacspeed and the #22 Homada now had a lead of over 20s, although with just over half of the race to go, it’s still too early to celebrate.
On lap 81, the fifth placed #2 CannutRus spun at high speed and crashed into the barriers. The car was destroyed and couldn’t keep going. On that same lap the experimental car took it’s third stop and on laps 84-87 the rest of the field followed them (although some of the TCDs are too far back and haven’t made their stops yet on the current standings).
Race control: Drive-through penalty for abusing track limits: (Laps 48-82)
Lap 48: #68 RyuSport
Lap 57: #93 Accurate
Lap 62: #77 Planar
Lap 72: #6 Pospichal
Lap 73: #51 DBR
Lap 75: #52 Tristella-Zacspeed & #9 CannutRus
Lap 77: #10 Hoffsman
Lap 78: #23 Homada
Lap 82: #57 Montiago
