Hi guys.
So I decided to check out the latest community modpack and found that the instructions seemed pretty straightforward. When I downloaded the pack and extracted it into my Automation folder (which at the time was under “Documents”, oddly enough), booting up the game yielded nothing new. Just the default car bodies, fixtures, badges, etc. Since I’m using an relatively new ASUS notebook (and re-installing the game from my account after I got rid of my old PC proved to be a major headache, but that’s another story) I chose to move the entire Automation folder to the computer’s designated “games” folder in windows/c/, which already contains the files for another game I installed called Space engine (look it up if you’re interested, it’s free ). Doing this yielded the same results. Next I tried (bear with me, this might sound stupid) painstakingly moving the individual contents of the modpack’s “assets” folder one by one. Again, the game ran like it normally would, except this time it made me log in, choose a language, and watch the autoplayed tutorials as if I had just installed the game.
I would really appreciate tips as to how to properly get this working. Since I have my activation key and login credentials saved on a text document, I can uninstall and reinstall the game (start over), if necessary. I would love to show my gratitude by getting immersed in the modding community (I have some Ideas for badges I’d like to try and make myself ).
