I can’t seem to find any pictures of my behemoth. But rest assured its demonically mammoth like.
Alas we come down to its heart…
xClio Windtunnel case
MSI 790GD-FX70 MoBo
AMD Triple Core @ 3.0GHZ
MSI TwinFrozr Radeon 6850 1GB GDDR5 RAM OC’d 1097 Mhz core and 900Mhz RAM
6GB Gskill DDR3 RAM
3 Hard drives (Two IDE and one SATA) Totalling a measly 637GB with about 30GB remaining…
Thermaltake TX750 Power supply.
That is my weapon of choice. does well for being on a stock cooler and and no oc’d love the fact that its a triple core and it can kill most other quads at a comparable level.
Antec 1200 Case
Asus P8P67-Deluxe MB
Intel 2600K CPU
8 GB of DDR3 RAM
1 SSD - 120 GB
4 HDDs, total 4 TB
850 W PSU, Corsair
HIS Raedon HD 7970 @ 1050 MHz
CM690 case
5x Arctic F12 PWMs all tied into the CPU fan PWM for quiet idling + Scythe Slip Stream 120 PWM on a XigmaTek Gaia heatsink for the CPU
i5-2500K @ 4.5, 1.250v
Gigabyte Z68A-D3-B3 (no Quick Sync for me boo… Although I’d continue to use use x264 anyway :p)
8GB 1600C9
XFX non-reference cooler HD 5870
X-Fi XtremeMusic with the OPAMPs swapped for LM4562
Many, many hard drives arranged in a haphazard manner
OCZ StealthXStream 600W PSU (my Hiper 580 finally gave out after 5 years of continuous abuse. My Tagan 800W died within a year - although it was powering two 9800GX2s for a large portion of that…)
2x colour-calibrated 24" S-PVA LCDs (yeah, I know I should be using IPS for colour-critical work but I do have budgetary limitations )
Usually runs Win7. Can be spotted in Mac OS when doing graphical work or when Windows does my noggin in. Can also be spotted running Ubuntu when I’m compiling Android
Simples. Plus, it’s nearly silent at idle. It would be if it weren’t for that pesky PSU fan.

It runs at 4.53 GHz Gotta love SB, you buy a kick ass cpu, and then you use 1 hour to make it even more kick ass!
Not only that but they are ridiculously easy to oc. I used to be a huge amd fan but man these sb’s just kick so much ass. Although I haven’t had a chance to play around with the bulldozer architecture yet.
So how’s the heat in there with the two 580’s? I set my rig up with the intention of getting a second one down the road when the prices went down…but they haven’t dropped yet. I guess i’ll have to wait until the 600 series comes out before the price of the 580’s drop.
Am running:
i5 2500k 3.3Ghz (Overclocked to 4.2 at the moment)
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2
Sapphire HD 6850 Toxic Edition 1GB (overclocked)
Cooler master Silent Pro 850W Modular PSU
Cooler Master HAF X
Crucial 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz Ballistix Memory Kit + Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8GB (equaling 12GB)
Asus P8P67 Pro R3 P67
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB
Crucial 64GB Real SSD C300
Could do with a better CPU cooler. Running around 30c idle and 70c load, thinking about water cooling
I can only answer for myself. But with the Rampage III motherboard i got enough spacing for that to not be a problem. And the corsair cabinet flows enough through with fans only.
Cards are cruising at 70 degrees under heavy load.

Nice set up you got there.
Cheers… All the computers here are neat and shouldn’t have any trouble running Automation.
The only thing thats annoing the hell out of me about my computer is the top fan has developed a “tick”, it’s drove me to point of pulling the plug on it. Anyone got any insight on a fix for it ?

Describe the tick. Like its fans are touching each revolution it makes? in that case, it could be bearings that are gone.

Am pritty sure it’s not touching as there isn’t anything for it to touch. It also spins free when unpowered. It starts ticking after the computer has been on for about an hour. Am going to take it off and give it another clean see if that makes a difference
