That’s the plan, I’ve just made the new thread now so it’s prepared for when all the entries are in. I will add the poll later when all the entries have been sent.
I currently have 4 entries for the Relay Design Contest. There is still a few days to get your designs sent to me.
And now for something that had never been attempted before by Cottam Auto Group, until 1996: A compact cheap sedan!
It’s called the Cottam T3N.The sensible styling of this model is what set the pace for the styling of future models. (Totally NOT a replica of any kind…)
The T3 model shown here is the Eco model, which features the same engine as in the Cottam Relay, but it’s been messed around a little bit to create slightly more power, which will be needed more in a sedan. It’s a shame I couldn’t replicate the engine that matches the car this looks like (You’ve got to guess ), because V6’s aren’t in the game yet. The revised version of the Relay engine produces a not-too-much 132hp, which results in a car that is extremely easy to drive, and is very comfortable.
The T3 Eco boasts a more than impressive 51mpg (UK), so fuel costs are not a worry. Neither is the price. This Eco model starts from just £16,000 for the base model.
I have an idea for my next model based on a very skilled drawing in the bottom corner. What do you guys think?
sure, this car will have AMAZING handling with a nose that’s longer than the wheelbase, and with the high center of gravity xD
Not to mention the oblong tyres .
And its definetly not going to pass CO2 and emission standards with smoke like that coming out of the exhaust!
Time to finally post a few of my cars that I have built in the recent AutomationHub streams! It’s a long, picture heavy post, so brace yourselves!
First off, we have the Cottam Hornet, a competitor to the Aston Martin Vanquish. The stats are somewhat similar, but the Hornet will leave a much smaller hole in your wallet.
The design is classy, with a hint of aggression coming from the large grilles. The headlights were made by using a few of the rimless circle lights, and I think it works very well. The aggressive styling is continued through to the back of the car, with the signature quad-exit exhaust system used on many Cottam performance vehicles.
The engine is a smooth 7.5L V8 powerhouse producing 552hp. The engine is a nice quiet creation at cruising speeds, but when you put the foot down, it erupts into a grumbling song of beauty!
Here’s the car’s stats:
Thanks to how cheap this car is to produce, the Cottam Hornet will only set you back £65,000 and compared to the Vanquish, that’s an absolute bargain!
And now for the Cottam Fino, a luxurious sedan that is too slow to compete with the Jaguar XF, yet too luxurious and pleasant to compete with anything cheaper. So it’s in it’s own league!
The design is the first Cottam design to feature a vent designed by myself, and again the design utilizes the rimless headlights to create a custom shape.
The back is simple. yet elegant, with an array of grilles and a nice strip of chrome separating the exhaust system with the upper portion of the rear end.
The engine is a very smooth, very quiet 2.0L turbocharged I6 engine that produces a less-than-modest 294hp.
And here are the stats!
The Cottam Fino is very reasonably priced at £42,000 and for that you get all the gadgets you could ever need, lovely leather trim, sat-nav, and electric everything!
Just don’t buy this car if you’re a stickler for fuel economy though. This car is built for extreme comfort and luxury on long cruises after a nice round of golf. Or at least, that’s the stereotype.
I like what youve done with the front lip of the Hornet. What are the performance stats and track times of that one?
The main stats are under the pictures of the car itself, and it does the Airfield track in 1:23 I believe? I’ll have to check tomorrow.
And thanks for the compliment! It’s one of my favourite designs to date, especially the front.
I meant stopping distance, 0-60, top speed etc. They are the performance stats on the test track page

I have now moved my company over to AutomationHub.net so this thread will pretty much be an archive of my old cars, and I will start fresh with my company on Automation Hub!
