The front does kinda work but the bumper lacks detail, the whole car actually does.. I think the rear lights could’ve looked better if the black details beside them were part of the actual light. And just a small nitpick, the wheels look kinda small for the big wheel arches. I do apprechiate the rear window hatch, it’s a certainly a cool feature.
I think the best part of this design is the front. While it does look kinda messy with a bunch of random details which are also kinda too abstract for 1992, I can see the vision for a really nice front if it was cleaned up a little. it however also falls short on details for the rest of the design. The side and rear look a little empty with no distinct design features.
We are slowly getting to the designs that could actually be seen driving around on the road. I really like the 2-tone color and the details all around the car and the beloved rear glass hatch is also present. While the front looks good, I’m not very fond of the enormous grille and while I love rear lightbars I don’t think they work quite well on a 90s SUV. Overall it’s a decent contender.
While the design it relatively simple I think it does kinda work to bring out a distinct look for the car. Overall i like the design, especially the rear looks clean. While irrelevant for my judging, I’m also a fan of the model name, it surprisingly fits my naming scheme. My main gripe are the massive tires which combined with the ride height make the car look like it could tumble over in a turn. It’s kinda distracting me of the overall design and just kinda makes it look off. But apart from that it a nice entry.
06 - @Aceman - Arima Nordic
Now this is heavy duty! This thing is absolutely massive, being the biggest design shared in this challenge. I quite like the design all around even though I’m not a fan of big grilles it does work well with this design. The 2-tone paint is also nice. But I feel like it doesn’t quite fit the design language of Arima, but it’s definitely a good try and has alot of potential.
05 - @Tragedy - Arima Prevada
Wow. Incredibly well built. I absolutely love this design and all the little details make it just more complete. I could definitely see this driving around in the real world. I honestly have nothing bad to comment about this, apart from that it doesn’t really fit the design language of Arima even for a north american market exclusive (tragic) and the model name could’ve also been a nice fit in Arima’s lineup. Amazing design but sadly I can’t place it any higher.
I quite like the overall design of this car, it looks very consistent all around. The execution of the side trim could be improved on, but I can really see what this design is trying to get across nicely and while the spare tire seems a bit narrow, it’s nicely integrated in the rear bumper. The front bumper also looks very well made with a distinct look that I like. The 2-tone color is a nice have but i think better colors (especially the beige) could’ve made the car stand out more. My 2 small nitpicks would be that the headlights are a tad too blocky and the very low ride height. With a little more tweaks and experience i believe this could’ve easily reached the top 3.
03 - @the-chowi - Arima ATR-4 SC
Reaching the top 3, the ATR-4 feels very practical and utilitarian with all the plastic bumpers and cladding. I’m really liking the design and every little detail seems to be where it should. This feels like a good entry model for the Arima lineup. It looks comparatively cheap compared the the other cars but that’s not a bad thing, it could make a proper fleet car for the brand. While i actually think it kinda strays from the general design language i can still imagine it existing with the other cars (maybe precisely because it looks cheap). I’m not really fond of rear pillar lights but it works really well for the overall design. Therefore my main nitpicks are the front and rear lights, which could be improved to make the car better fit the design language. Very strong contender but just a little lacking compared to the other 2 designs.
02 - @Mikonp7 - Arima Radar SC
I’ve been contemplating alot whether this will be the winner or not and if I could I would’ve chosen both. But I had to choose and the Radar fell behind ever so slightly. It’s the only SWB entry and i absolutely LOVE it, every single trim you created is amazing. The Radar is pretty much spot on for what i could’ve imagined a SWB SUV for Arima from front to back it really embodies the design language of Arima. However with such a strong contender for first place I have to nitpick alot. The spare tire looks incredibly well done but i just don’t feel like the rear bumper warping around it was a good design choice.. and while everything is designed super well, the execution could’ve been better; both front and rear bumper are very noticably rough. Incredible design proposal, if you had put in a little more work to make the bumpers cleaner and maybe went for a different rear bumper design I think I couldn’t have decided for a winner.
At last, the final, winner of this competition. Truly befitting of it’s name, the Pioneer has an absolutely incredible design, especially the front lights captivated me the moment I saw them. It really stands out among the other submissions with a distinct look all around the car, even thought I’m still not a fan of rear pillar lights, them extending down to the boot really helps the look and it looks unique aswell. The 2-tone paint just enhances the overall look with a beautiful paint scheme. The Pioneer is very confident in it’s design, it still encapsulates the design language of Arima while being a little experimental with it which is also helped by the build quality itself which is on par with the Prevada. At first i was kinda uncertain with a few design elements but everything grew on my really quick. Amazing build, amazing design, i really have nothing but praise.

I thank everyone for entering this first challenge of mine. I’m sure there’s still alot I have to improve if I were to host another challenge but it was cool to try it out.
