CSR 144 - Serenade [FINISHED]

Re-read your own question, slightly slower, then re-read the entire OP, and ask yourself this again.

This is something I have overlooked, I’ll try my best to readjust the calculator back into one where year does not become too big of an influence on the price.

I’ll put this in the OP later, but he’d prefer cars in factory or near factory condition.

:skull:

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that! I just ran the calculator with my submission and its bang on the money. Literally the only change that need be made is the power steering system to electric. I’m thinking of just doing a “Deja Vu! I’ve submitted this car before!” for the lols. Even the colour seems to be spot on.

Not sure if someone’s brought it up here, but will et limit be a thing here? or did I miss something

Due to the year ranges involved, it wouldn’t be very fair to have an ET Limit. The $4500 price limit should be enough to keep a decently level playing field.

that’s the asking price in the cal right?

So, first of all Merry Christmas! Hope you and everyone else on this forum is having a lovely holiday.

I see that Mikki has grown 5 inches taller and started hating turbos in the last 24 hours since I’ve checked the rules… I’m sure for no specific reasons … (Btw I lmao’ed when I read this footnote)

I noted (or perhaps misread) that service costs don’t seem to be taken into consideration… How carefully would you say Mikki is looking into service costs? Disregarding this allows for a lot more creativity btw as I found that I could pull off some crazy design choices. But if he’s a true accountant, then there is much less room for design choices. I can’t tell considering he seems somewhat financially inept regarding fuel choice.

Merry Christmas to you too, I almost forgotten about that, I’ll add Service Costs next to reliability in the priorities. Thanks.

PS. The ruleset should be pretty much close to final now. All I need is a bit more confirmation with the calculator and then the round can go up.

how slow is his old car?
I mean like the 0-100 time and does he want a faster car or it could be around the same level

He does not currently have a car. I’ll put that in the footnotes later.

so a first car then

Fuel economy. Does this thing have to meet CAFE requirements?

How many hours a week does this boy work?

As I understand it, Mickey would be perfect for a teenage yellow sports sedan in a maximalistic style, as far as I understood the task. But a boring hatchback looks like a ban, although I imagine the situation in such a picture. I would build a blue serious econobox with 240 hp. But VariationOfVariables showed so many limitations that it’s difficult to imagine all this in your head. On the one hand, strictness, on the other hand, an scattered and ambient sedan. It is not clear what to choose.

I swear I took as much power as I can from a M3 inspired knock-off while fitting budget. Intel, managed to grab it into the 3k range

Nooo, my plans to build a Syclone!!! ):

(If I cover the bed can I plz count it as a sort of coupe?)

I might be a PITA now, but regarding the bodystyles I think that it is a bit diffuse to say what is a hatchback/liftback/coupé. Compare the silhouette of a foxbody Mustang and an Escort from the same era, and they aren’t all that different, for example, and both have a “hatchback” technically. Also, there is bodies in the game (like the 70s BL ones) that looks a lot like hatchbacks but only has a small trunklid and hence, they are technically 2 door sedans.

It seems to me that the option with Sirocco is an insanely cool idea, it looks more decent and worthy of Fords. Even as a copy, it can participate in the competition, if of course, it passes the $4500 teen selection. Although $4500 will be incredibly expensive for teenagers, so it seems to me that the idea of a teenager buying such a car on their own is untenable, this option can only be considered in the case of a gift from parents to their children.

No, trucks are completely missing the brief here.

Just use good judgement, I think it’s obvious the difference between a Volkswagen Golf (not what I’m looking for) and a Honda Integra.

I have no idea what I’m supposed to make of this.

Well, I’m fine with the “good judgement” argument, as long as stuff that could be considered borderline rather will be accepted than instabinned. After all, passing the instabins does not mean that it has to score good.

ROUND OPEN

The long day had worn out not only Mikki, but his family too. Hours of yelling over one another amidst the Christmas celebration does a strain on one’s mental state and physical state, but surely he enjoyed himself being with family, didn’t he?

Oh, how he’d wished that were the case. It was another year of the same old routine of filling oneself up with a meal in front of the same family members with the same problems as always that never seem to go away due to the fact that it is simply just human nature.

After a quick shower, he immediately ran towards his room and flopped down onto the bed and powered his phone back on. A flood of generic greeting messages from family members he barely even talked to flashed on his screen and overwhelmed the phone’s ringer. With a sigh, he flicked away most of them but kept a few that stood out, notably the ones from his closest friends, and one more from a certain yellow-haired interest.

He tapped the notification and what appeared on his screen was something he wasn’t expecting, but was enough to bring back some energy as he huddled down within the warmth of his comforter. It was a picture of Ashley in a Santa dress, short enough to reveal most of her thighs, and revealing most of everything from her armpits up, including the mole on her chest. Combined with the image was a caption that read;

"Merry Christmas! I was trying out different outfits, and I didn't know who else I could've sent it to. I hope it doesn't look too weird.

Mikki was more or less taken aback, never before had she ever sent a message to him like this, particularly an image of her. He was as confused as he was grateful, but not wanting to seem rude, he began composing a message back.

"I think it fits you quite well"

It wasn’t even halfway through and he hesitated on what words to say. His fingers were stuck in place and as much as he wanted to, he couldn’t get the words out, even through a digital medium.
He looked at the image more, it was her sitting on what looked to be her bed, her face partially concealed by her hand and partially cropped out of the image.

“It’s…”

"I think you look quite cute in it"

Almost unconsciously, he had sent the message, and a few heartbeats later he had finally realized what he had sent and his face flushed a deep red.

“Wait, what the fuck?!”

He attempted to delete the message, but it was too late now, the read receipt flashed from “Sent” to “Read” and Ashley had begun typing. His heart constantly thudded through his chest as he awaited what she would say in response. Would she immediately guess? Would she just take it as a compliment? He would find out once she finished typing.

"Thank you! I was kind of nervous trying it on. I wasn't sure what the others would think, but I appreciate that you think it's nice!"

Mikki had calmed down a bit after he received the message, but still he was paranoid, and his paranoia only grew as he saw her typing yet again.

"by the way, you got your license last year, right? do you have a car yet?"

He stared at the message for a bit, but just answered honestly.

"im planning on buying my own one hopefully before christmas break is over"

"That's cool! being able to buy your own car and all"

"thanks, hard work pays off i guess haha"

"what car are you getting?"

Once again, he found himself pausing yet again, before a snap back into reality as he recieved a message from Allan that read;

"Oi tangkad, meri chrysler, etong linggo pagpunta mo dito tulungan kita, mas madali hanapin in-person. geh goodnight pagod na ako"

With that, Mikki continued typing his message.

"I'm not quite sure yet, but you'll see!"

The read receipt arrived, but there Ashley wasn’t typing back. Mikki began to grow anxious as seconds continued to pass by without any update, until she did begin typing, for a while. The paranoia flung throughout his head; Did she think I was accidentally inviting her to a drive? Surely, not. Surely she thought I was just saying about how I was going to eventually drive it to school, right? It’s not like I wanted to invite her immediately. I wasn’t even planning that just yet!

But then, it seemed as though the world stopped around him when she finally replied back.

"so"
"would you be able to buy the car before New Years?"
"and do you think you can take me out for a drive?"
"I'd love to see it"
"the car i mean lol"

The rules for the challenge have been locked.

Merry Christmas, god bless, and good luck!
