2024 Wolfe Javelin Evo SL

In 2024 Wolfe reintroduced the Javelin Evo as a sportback with great fanfare! After being discontinued for years, it is now back with a vengeance. Ranging from the SL (Sport-Line) to the Turbo, all the way up to the RS badge, it covers all enthusiasts markets and dreams.

In the base SL model, you will get a 2.6L Inline 5 instead of the V6 Turbo or race-tuned V6 of the RS model. Nothing to sneeze at, as it develops 280 horsepowers, thanks to it’s VCTAL (Variable Cam Timing And Lift) and being mated to 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The tuned torsen AWD system mated to a viscous center diff might be a bit older but still performs very well in this trim, with a top speed of 260kph and a 5.4s 0-100 acceleration.

As with many manufacturers, the costs of aluminium greatly increased and the last few years and Wolfe decided also to go back to more basic galvanized chassis instead of a composite heavy one with a lot of alu. The suspension with multi-link in the rear and a real double wishbone front, thanks to the engine being longitudinally mounted, is very simple with semi-active dampers and driving modes, but no electronically controlled fancy suspension here. It still easily reach 1.05g on the skidpad. Keeping things simple is Wolfe’s motto.

The interior was kept very simple as well on the SL, looks like a typical standard 5-seater sedan with an older generation infotainment system - higher trims gets fancier and fancier options. It does get a few sporty trims inside to make it more special.
