CSR169 - L'Art D'Arriver [Finished]

1937 Aprile-Soprano 40/6

‘Grace, Pace, Space? Not so much’

One of the highest status symbols within the European continent, An Italian Aprile-Soprano confirmed you were in the top 0.1% of the 1% elite in the world, with a price tag large enough to exceed the GDP of several small island nations and African colonies, it was the kind of car that would naturally end up in the hands of Dictators and celebrities who cherished their chariots until either a revolution or when the car went ‘Out of fashion’.

Nowadays, the Aprile-Soprano still carries the same prestige and price tag it did in its heyday, just with the minor addition, that they would now spend 99.9% of their life in a garage, as opposed to 99.8% in 1937.

Hello everyone I would just like to say that having +15 quality is totally fine and to be expected, you can use as much quality as you want.

Also I think I will extend the deadline to Saturday, February 21, so people can go enjoy Valentine’s (Feb 14) and Chinese New Year.

(i was gonna do friday february 20 but then people might be busy with school or work so yeah 1 extra weekend day is ok)

Also, I encourage you if you have any questions or concerns regarding if something is realistic or not, please feel free to ask here as well. I will not import the existing submissions I have until the deadline, so please feel free to use the extra time (if you want to).

Washington Model D Absolute

by Ventes Gasméaines

The world is changing, faster every year. The world gets intricate, sophisticated.

Yet serenity has never been as easily reached as when driving the Washington Absolute.

Everything will always be easy with the Absolute : It will always be capable, it will always be comfortable, and most of all, it will always be.

The Washington Absolute is the pinnacle of Washington technology and savoir-faire. A truly hand-made gasmean marvel combining the best of both conservative and modern engineering.

The finest materials are used, including top quality hand-stitched leather, varnished walnut, silver and gold. It is equipped with the best audio system of its time and a wide-band radio receiver able to pick up any broadcasting in range, worldwide.¹

Its engine will never be a source of trouble as it is truly reliable and more than capable.² Combined to its brand new “Sports” tires, driving the Washington Absolute up any paved slope will always be insolently effortless.

While being considerably powerful, its engine is also very quiet, and it is able to run at least 500km before a refuel.³ The independant front suspension and coil springs give the Model D one of the best ride quality ever offered.

The Washington Model D is equipped with a compact soft top folding mechanism, easily operated by a single person.

These rising temperatures of May ᵗᵒᵒᵏ ˢᵒᵐᵉ ˡⁱᵇᵉʳᵗʸ ʰᵉʳᵉ are a sign of a coming dry summer that will certainly be more enjoyable with the most prestigious, over the top, yet sensible convertible Gasmea has to offer to the world.

The true beauty

Be sensible, be yourself, buy Washington.

¹²³⁴

¹ Jolt-friendly phonograph coming soon !

² The 12.4L Washington V16 is used in several applications ranging from speedboats to military equipment. While the Absolute - with a professional pilot at its wheel - has been able to reach 160 mph (260 km/h) on the Johnson Valley highway, we recommand a careful and sensible driving : 60 km/h in town and winding roads, 100 km/h on easy roads, 150 km/h on straights. Sensible. Most of the driving can be done while in second gear.

³ The Washington Model D has a 134L fuel tank. Note : Use only leaded fuel. Always use a cloth when refueling to avoid fuel stains.

⁴ Send me a DM if you want the car, it works really well in BeamNG, description codes included !

⁵ Wait.. There’s no ⁵ ! No, but I just realized the radio antenna is… ̶m̶i̶s̶s̶i̶n̶g̶ very well hidden under the long bonnet… This mistake is going to stay though, even with the post @Oreology made while I was doing mine, cause I just don’t want to redo all the photos  So I’ll go get whipped with fresh nettles instead. Sensibly.

Something something doesn’t matter the type of colour the car is so long as it’s black quote here…

Lore Bits

Alcaeus Motor Works or Alcaeus for short was founded by Edwin A. Spade from Manchester, New Hampshire. Edwin Spade main profession was Astronomy since he was always fascinated by the great beyond of outer space. However, something else piqued his curiosity…

At first, he did not understand what the hubbub was about the automobile since it seemed to just be worse than a regular old stallion. So, Spade made a bet to prove that he could traverse the entire US coast to coast in less than 60 days. He borrowed the automobile from his grandfather in order to do this.
Although, he ended up losing the bet with his newfound appreciation in cars he decided to make his own automobile company two years later in 1911 in Detroit, Michigan where the heart of the automobile resides.

Spade decided to name his car company Alcaeus which translates from ancient Greek as strength deriving from his failed Coast to Coast trip requiring a lot of bravery to travel throughout the unpaved roads of America.

With the steady rise in creating affordable reliable cars tragedy struck when the 1929 wall street crash happened. In order to continue Spade decided to focus the Alcaeus brand to the middle class and the elites and less so to the downtrodden. Spade then refreshed the line up with the Meteor line giving you multiple different body styles and engines to choose from. This example is the Alcaeus Meteor V12 and as the name implies it features all new and smooth 460 ci V12.

Built with the upmost care attention with all steel construction, mahogany wood interior and bison leather inserts for the seats and rest of the dash. Featuring a 3 speed manual “Shift-o-matic” and a top of the line AM radio so you too can listen to some Beethoven on the go.
Finished in navy metallic paint with white stripes reminiscent of a shooting star going through the sky.

This culminates in the most comfortable driving experience money can buy.

In the modern era the Alcaeus Meteor V12 is remembered fondly by collectors and even ex mafia examples fetch a price in the millions…

One of the most detailed interwar builds ever, period. My favorite detail is how the paint appears nearly black until direct light hits it, at which point it reveals itself to be a sparkling deep blue.

@Dildoplocus @sambatt Yes, Google Translate, but I ran it by two native speakers before posting. And it’s meant to be cheesy fluff in the first place. With that said, what’s odd about it?
