In 2014, IP introduced their DT brand. DT was a play on “Dao Thang”, which is not only the hometown of IP, it is also a hint to the fact that the company also makes the Dao Thang trucks, but the name “DT” was chosen to avoid any confusion between the car and truck brands.
The DT brand is a cheaper alternative to the IP cars for “Emerging markets”, not always the latest in technology but good value for the money, is what the brand is about.
The proposal presented by Gabatron is the new Maxus. A 7-seater MPV, with an economical, reliable and easy to maintain 1.4L turbo and direct injection engine, which offers about 112 hp, and a maximum torque of 149 Nm, from low revs, thanks to the turbocharger.

That would explain my decision to build and submit a mid-sized wagon for this round… Its body’s wheelbase is much longer than 2.6 meters, which provides plenty of useful cargo space for the whole family.

The Bulan is Aeros' attempt to make a "world car" designed to be sold in markets across the world with as few changes between markets as possible. For the Indonesian market production will be handled by Luminansi Autos PT, although the engines will be built by Aeros in the United States. An entire line of vehicles based on the Bulan will be produced if it is successful.
The Bulan is an eight-passenger vehicle sold with premium seats. The engine, while somewhat large for the market at 1998cc, should make up for this thanks to the low-pressure lean burn turbocharger giving the engine 38.2% efficiency, granting the vehicle 18.92 kilometers per liter of fuel economy. The engine also develops 134 horsepower and 221 Nm of torque. The vehicle has a five-speed manual transmission with a short “crawler” gear for use in stop-and-go traffic on hills*, and it weighs 1,852 kilograms.
Design and safety features are numerous: an array of curtain airbags and crumple zones, and intelligent design details everywhere. For example, the rear door is on a side hinge and there’s a step in the rear bumper designed for easy handling of heavy objects in and around the trunk.**

you’re either under 1.5L or under 2.5L. whatever the engine size you choose in the end. it’ll classify into one of the brackets i have already specified in the OP
Mandating a minimum comfort level has kicked my entrant out of it’s comfort zone (Hahaha, geddit, COMFORT zone! ) which means my entrant is no longer in a sweet spot with a chance of winning…
I needed more power to pull the extra drag of the gearbox and/or better interior which meant I needed a better engine as all my NA builds couldn’t pull the extra weight (P2W ratio <0.05). I couldn’t possibly fit all this within the budget. Every change made things heavier or more costly (or both!).
But I’m still in with a chance overall so I can’t wait to see how I fare come judgement day!!!
