Yes i agree. And for that reason, some cars even with zero sportiness, sold in the Hot hatch group.
That actually makes a lot of sense to me, it seems like the consumers wished for more sportiness, but couldnāt afford it. Its just like reality, everyone has their dreams, just a few can actually afford it. And in this challenge no one got the Golf Gti formula right, maybe it was too early for that.
Well consider it from this side - I would love to buy a hot hatch, but ended buying Hyundai Accent, well, because reasons (bang/buck being one of the most important ones). PMPās car would probably become the top rated hot hatch in magazines (kudos to you, looks like a great car), but that doesnāt mean it would be a bestseller given the competition. Also, those stats yell more Trackday than everyday Hot hatch, which should be at least a bit comfortable and safe, especially compared to competition - hot hatch should be similar in stats to normal small cars but with higher emphasis on sportiness and a bit lower emphasis on price - but as others already noted, its hard to get high sportiness in these years without really hard compromises in other areas. In the end, it shows it wasnt really feasible to sell dedicated hot hatches in the 60s, which is pretty historical
Extremely happy with my entry I definitely received more than what I hoped for.
Thank you all, and especially to you Der Bayer! Great stuff!
The challenge is not simulated in years, just the annual cost is based on 5 years. It would be possible to do five times with a fifth of the buyers each time and you send in new prices. But then, how many of the participants would send in a new price in 24 hours? If they just donāt have the time to do so, they have a huge disadvantage. And it would increase my workload by the factor 5.
I do agree that service cost is too important, so Iām gonna multiply the ingame service cost with .5 in the future.
Totally agree. Other stats are important too. But to the point that cars with ZERO sportiness are better cars than other cars with moreā¦ And once more, Iām not talking about my own car. Iām talking about other cars.
The indexes should have been changed based on the era rather than the previous challenge. In this case, the sportiness should have been bumped.
Even if there werenāt hot hatches back then there were small sports cars. Such as the giulietta GTA that I based my car on. Or the Lotus Elan.

The fuel consumption should have more importance in the service costs. To differentiate better the cars based on their fuel consumption.
I must have made a good car. Even with the addition of the test car I still sell every car made plus some.
How did my car outsell some of the budget cars in the budget market despite being significantly more expensive? I got a larger marketshare in the C$ market then both Kubboz and Hermmie despite there cars being priced at 8,999 for Kub and 11,500 for Herm compared to 14,250 for mine. The test only made it worse since the only budget car to consistently beat mine in all he budget categories was Normans.
That will probably not be the case for the next contest since I have an idea on which way I want to go with it. But it is an interesting observation.
Because your car is a lot better, so most buyers still preferred yours.
If I only had a mega huge factoryā¦ Iām quite sure a lot of people out there that would like to buy my car but were all sold out! XD
Your car was priced at 14250, mine almost 10k more for very comparable stats, itās only natural people would go for cheaper one until stocks run out.
I am going to have to charge more in the future for my cars, especially since I cant make a bigger factory.
There is a bigger factory now
Yay!
So bigger factory is ready, we can begin the new challenge!
Dacia prices now possible?
What size class is that called now? Medium large, Large, āThatās no moonā¦ā
