CTC - Car Tycoon Challenge #5 - 2014 [RESULTS]

At the end of Movember, two new **Mustaches **hit the market!

  1. **Mustache **Speedo 3.6T AWD

  2. **Mustache **Mantis

Bad news! The Venture development got cancelled!

Due to lack of time we had to hire an external design studio for the exterior of the car, sadly enough only anime studios were still availableā€¦

Introducing: The desudesu van!

Nyancat side decal comes optional.
Although the standard colour is pink it shifts anything, anywhere.

Yeah!!! \m/ totaly badass!!!

Weā€™re developing the ultimate cheap MR sportscar, the brand new 4th generation Shuha, in three different versions

1.9BX: The basic experience, a peppy 175hp 4 cylinder, standard interior and lots of speed, with a price around 22000
2.2PS: The REā€™s little brother, itā€™s destroked i6 makes 210hp, the interior is the same as the BX to keep it cheap, springs from 0 to 100 in just 5.2s
RE: The best Shuha, it runs a 2.5 liter i6 making a whopping 260hp, it blazes from 0 to 100 in a blink, just 4.5s, and reaches almost 260km/h, while having lots of downforce

1.9BX+RE= Probably iā€™m gonna choose these ones
1.9BX+2.2PS= A bit unlikely, since they can cannibalize each otherā€™s sales
2.2PS+RE= I might not make a profit at all

I havenā€™t got much experience in these challenges so i may need a few tipsā€¦

Thanks 8bs xD

Sorry mate, canā€™t give you a lot on tips on this since thatā€™s about direct competition with my Warrior Iā€™m going to enter :stuck_out_tongue:
One tip I can give you is to try to aim for completely different markets since all sportscars pretty much apply to the same markets, except for extremes.

My MR car had two versions that i could choose from. A sports car like yours or an outright GT car. I went GT car because the car has the potential to do well.

If you have time make several cars and fill all columns in the scorecalc Bayer provides in the first post. After you filled the tables will all the cars you made see which scores better. Sometimes you are thinking of a car for a group but it ends up being better for other. But if you donā€™t have a comparison youā€™ll never know.
Also making several cars gives you options to counter your competition or fill a gap in the market. For example, I made 8 cars for CTC3. I had strong C$ and TP but I noticed no one went for the OFF$ so I submitted mine.

Also, in general when building cars, tune the suspension for understeer since it gives more tameness without sacrificing other stats. Stiffen the front and loosen the rear.

My entries for the Challenge this time.

Enterprise Enlongated
A full size sedan that still returns 50mpg

Enterprise Prize
A compact that gets good fuel economy with a 1.6L turbo that still runs on regular unleaded.

I throw my hat in the ringā€¦

Weasels Engineers gave their best, to better the Results of the last CTC, where the little Adrett didnā€™t make so fine.

So, the following cars will be part of this challange:

The Choice, a luxury and sporty Station Wagon with a high tameness.

The Gadgetto, a premium Minivan with da high tameness and low fuel consumption

My letsplays will follow, when the challange is over. No chance for industrial espionage

Iā€™m still working on mine entry. Iā€™m having doubts aaaarrrghhh

Iā€™ve submitted my usual pairing of a hideous trackday car and a cheapo off road car. The formula worked very well with the test of the new sales algorithm so I thought Iā€™d try the same on the real thing

Spend time tweaking the sliders until it is optimized for your intended target/targets. You will be surprised how much you can get without throwing gobs of money or tech/quality at.

Introducing my two entries from Marks Automotive.

The Bathurst XCII

And the Thredbo MkIV

Good luck to everyone! Hopefully I beat my last result of 4th and 3rd last! (Or something like that, I didnā€™t check twice.)

Are you gonna update that list now that i re-entered?

Rightā€¦

Here we go:

Fuentes motor company, presents:

The 2014 generation of the C-t, a small car with a 1.4l engine, here on itā€™s premium version.

And the 2014 generation of the Progression, a premium estate version, with a 6 cilinder, turbo, and direct injection. A green engine alied with some performance.
239hp/353nm@3300
5.77lt/100 - 48 emissions
1.7tons 0-60 7.6s

Best of luck everyone!

One of my cars for this CTC, the Serreta S-HE:

S-HE = Sport ā€œHalf Evilā€ :smiling_imp:
Half Evil because itā€™s engine has 333hpā€¦

Brace yourselvesā€¦ the 2014 Shuha is coming!*
Itā€™s offered in 2 versions: 1.9BX (175hp) and RE (266hp)

Yes i know, it looks beautiful, a really beautiful sure failure

Looks nice! Good luck!

Here are my CTC entries.

The first is the Baltazar Kashmir, which is the road-going version in which the Thanatos, my entry to stropā€™s Barely Street Legal League, was based. Wonder at all the 2 tons of luxury and smooth 6-cylinder power. This car only has comfort and ease of driving as its priorities.

Here is the second entry, called the Baltazar Feynman S, in tribute to Richard Feynman, the brilliant 20th century physicist. The car was designed for the 18 yo inside all of us, it is a practical and yet sporty car. Cheap-ish, but filled with all the latest safety technology. The engine is a very small V8, with 32-valves and VVL, yo. It revs all the way to 9,000 rpm. All this with space for five and high-utility and decent fuel economy.
