When you get a shit score with 50+ sportiness it says a lot about the field…
TBF I didn’t realise I made the car with the most power lol
I thought people would be making more powerful cars or something
Last place is for sure Sherlocked in let’s go!!!
Can I just say, I think this is looking really cool.
Comfort
Score from 0-2.
These are distributed in comparison to other entries, (ie normal CW rules)
@oldmanbuick
Constellation N724 R-Spec
Sport-premium interior and a softer active suspension with AWD contributes to the high score despite being a much smaller car than it looks.
1.9/2
@xsneakyxsimx
Chèvre Panier - MR-6S
A surprise entrant to the top 3 of the round, sport-standard interior, but high quality soft suspension and being a hatchback help the overall score.
1.9/2
@abg7
1995 LVC LS35 3.2
Being on the larger side of the entries, the extra room is quite welcome, a high quality prem-prem interior and slightly soft progressive suspension. It’s basically a GT Supercar.
2/2
SKCC C-80 MBV8
ah yeah, so thanks to the SKCC getting a whopping 0 comfort as an actual stat, every other entry got atleast a 1 for score. Standard-basic interior, standard springs with ultra stiff tuning and offroad dampers? racey brake pads and semi slicks. It was never going to do well in this catagory.

Next round will be Prestige.
It will also be a shorter post, highlighting the top 3 and last place for the round. The table with all the results will still remain.
Well. The table has barely changed so… this is why I advocate for future rounds to start with minor stats (after the cw points). There is a risk that the winner becomes too obvious too soon otherwise. Which will make the results less exciting and more of a long waiting in that case. Now, this is a minor gripe that should not cast a shadow over the host’s work. Just something worth considering in the future.
Perhaps it’s just not worth enough points and I should’ve made it be worth 25% instead of 10% of major stats. There’s certainly an area of balancing that may have made it seem more close than it is currently. CW is probably big enough to have a debate around what a major stat should be worth, minor and the very minor stats.
I think you hit the nail right on the head. I think the biggest issue with this round of CW is the points balance.
It was discussed and brought up by @Texaslav on the discord. Anyone who went for a more compromised built and didn’t basically only focus on ”coolness” , ”drivability” and ”sportiness” was kinda screwed because of the major scoring difference. But honestly with how relatively few rounds and how infrequent this challenge is I think hiccups like this are to be expected. Only very recently was a guide for this challange posted and before that there really wasn’t a cohesive way to host. So regardless I think you’re doing a fantastic job hosting.
Honestly I thought my comfort would be so much worse… Not to mention having the quietest engine? from a mid-engine Inline 5 turbo? I’m surprised
Turbos makes engines quieter.
And with the bottom scoring car having 0 comfort the bar wasn’t high ![]()
if you’re buying a group C kit car i don’t think you care about comfort very much ![]()
While I haven’t hosted a Cool Wall, I think one of the biggest challenges with the Cool Wall format is that it’s extremely transparent about how scores are weighted, and the round-by-round format further emphasizes the effects of that weighting. In most challenges, that information either isn’t public at all (beyond the initial priority listings) or is buried in formulas in a spreadsheet released once all of the judging is complete. The format here essentially encourages us to take issue with score weighting, even though I can’t say whether @Riley is weighting much differently from any other competition around here (because I haven’t waded through the aforementioned spreadsheet formulas). I also think it’s fair for the least important scoring factors to be essentially tiebreakers in the event that all is equal. Or course, that’s less exciting when there’s a wide gap, but there’s no way to know in advance of a competition how the scoring will pan out.
Also, there are still two 5-point categories and a 10-point category out there, so I would suggest we move through the 2-point categories knowing they aren’t going to change much, then do the 5-point categories, and then close out with the 10-point category for a bit of suspense and uncertainty going into the final round.
Unrelated P.S. I would be the person to get top-3 scores in drivability and comfort…in a sports car contest ![]()

You’re right. It was me that was tired yesterday and thought it was only 2 point categories after the main ones ![]()
How is a 3 cilinder turbo the loudest engine haahaha
Prestige
@bang6111
1997 Revuelto Calista
As mentioned in previous rounds, the supercar with a big engine and lots of power is quite prestigeous.

Very similar to above, big engine lots of power provides a prestigeous experience.

@Texaslav & @debonair0806

Next round will be Safety.
So this category is ranked from 1-2 stars? (Making it effectively a 1 point category?) Interesting change of pace.
(not that I’m complaining, with my score here…)
Isn’t it supposed to be from 0-2? The worst entry getting no score at all.
Safety
There is rounding in the spreadsheet, although with close scores and limited points like this catagory it can give the same scores for each. In regards to the 0 - xyz score, im just using what the spreadsheet is throwing out. I don’t know if it’s a rounding error or google sheets unwillingness to throw out a 0 (I have tried), but the scores are the scores. At this point I just want to get this challenge finished.
@DuceTheTruth100
DDS Rayzr
It appears that the modern cars are on top, relatively unsurprising. What is surprising is that the top three are within 0.7 of each other, hence the scoring.
Advanced 20’s safety and AHS steel chassis makes the DDS Rayze quite sturdy
2/2
@oldmanbuick

Advanced 10’s safety and again AHS steel, I suspect the weight slider helped a higher safety number too.

@kookie & @vero94773
Dalmas élysée3 DSi
Standard 10’s safety and cor.res steel. The heavy weight of the car makes up for a rather normal amount of safety equipment.
Very sorry about the taillights, they look fine in the designer!

@Edsel
Aero 848
A crumple zone that no doubt manages to find your legs in an already small fibreglass car means that this old timer is quite unsafe. But that’s part of the charm. Standard 70s safety and a very light weight means an unfortunate end in basically any scenario.

Next round will be Reliability.
Reliability
A simple NA engine along with high quality parts gives the Phénix Alcyone Targa XS the highest reliability by quite a way, more than 4 points over the next closest competitor. Despite the active suspension it’s really quite remarkable how good it scores in this catagory.
10/10
While again very high quality, the all wheel drive system adds some complexity, as does the interior. An impressive score nonetheless.
8.6/10
Again active suspension and a nice interior make it seem like little bits would break all the time, but actually it’s a very complete package. A simple engine and understressed components go a long way.
8.5/10
The garbage is now hot garbage.

get me out of here
I clearly don’t have the energy to finish this up, while the first few rounds were interesting, CW is lengthy and I don’t think I went about the right way of hosting it. I have even less time in the coming weeks and months which is why I’m finishing this here.
After the remaining rounds were added, and penalty points applied (nobody actually ran 98) here are the final scores.
