Disclaimer: Not a real game studio or game development project
Edit: it would be super cool if all participants could include one picture of their car from the side with the front facing to the left, full car in view and features visible.
Are you ready to unleash your creativity and design the hottest street racing cars for a cutting-edge video game? TerrorDox Studios, an up-and-coming game development studio, is searching for freelance designers like you to submit your dream car designs for their high-performance street racing game.
They need approximately 10-15 cars to launch the game, but more or fewer submissions are welcome! The studio is looking for vehicles that resemble modified or tuned versions of what could be road cars. Already made a car you really like?; you can submit modified versions of your company’s existing cars.
The game will feature sedans, sport coupes, hatchbacks, and supercars. Each car will be classified into one of three performance classes, which players can unlock and upgrade as they progress through the game and earn funds. The performance class details are as follows:
- Class 1 - Entry-Level/Beginner:
- Acceleration: 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8-12 seconds.
- Top Speed: Approximately 100-130 mph (160-210 km/h).
- Horsepower: Around 100-200 horsepower.
- Class 2 - Intermediate/Mid-Level:
- Acceleration: 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6-9 seconds.
- Top Speed: Approximately 130-160 mph (210-260 km/h).
- Horsepower: Around 200-300 horsepower.
- Class 3 - High-Performance/Advanced:
- Acceleration: 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4-6 seconds.
- Top Speed: Approximately 160-200+ mph (260-320+ km/h).
- Horsepower: Around 300-500 horsepower.
While the cars will be preclassified in the game, players can upgrade their Class 1 cars to compete with higher-class vehicles. Feel free to design an “upgraded” version that fits between the classes. Drivability is not a concern since this challenge focuses solely on the aesthetics and design of the cars.
There’s no need to worry if you think your car designs might be subpar! Failure isn’t a concern here, and all entries are welcome. Whether you envision a vibrant assortment of cars or prefer sleek black and silver sedans, it’s entirely up to you. However, please note that the developers plan to include only two or three supercars in the game, so consider diversifying your designs.
Let your imagination run wild and create eye-catching, unique designs. Be open to others’ contributions as well since all the cars will be racing together in the same video game setting. Don’t hesitate to experiment with different engine configurations, such as all V6 or V8 engines or a lineup of turbocharged vehicles—anything goes!
To participate, include the car’s Name, Class, and performance specifications in your post. To make it easy to identify your submission, please include “TerrorDox” in the post title. The deadline for submissions is currently set for two weeks from now, July 6th, but stay tuned for any updates.
Unleash your design skills and join the challenge! Get ready to revolutionize the street racing scene in this thrilling video game. Good luck!
My side hobby is web design and development. At the end of this project I would like to develop a website for this game as if it was a real game. For instance if you were to go to the Need For Speed website or Forza Horizon Website for a specific game, this would be like that.
The site will feature an overview of the street racing scene set in modern WA, United States. Users will be able to see and sort through a collection of all the cars sorted by manufacturer, class, or body type.
