DQE Speed Academy

Hey everyone! Since i already posted the new Mantis in the standard DQE thread, i’m sure you’ve all been waiting for the new Mantis HP, and here it is!

Not only the exterior has changed significantly, compared to the previous generation. Also the 4.2L V8 engine has been reworked. It no longer makes 450hp, now it produces 500hp while being lighter than before due to lighter materials.

Also, this car produces more downforce than its predecessor and is overall lighter and sharper. Who would have thought that a hot hatch can keep up with the Lamborghini Aventador over the quarter mile?

It’s not only faster in a straight line than before, it also handles better. That’s why this car is a whopping 4.5 seconds faster than the previous Mantis HP around the Automation Track, the new car does it in 133.8 seconds.
The price hasn’t changed, though. It still costs 100.000€ and i know that’s the same as the Fly SR. But you wouldn’t wanna drive the Fly SR in everyday life, you’d much rather have the Mantis HP. It’s not the most comfortable car, but you get all driver aids and much, much higher tameness. Even your grandma can drive this car, though i wouldn’t recommend her to try it, she might get a heart attack when she puts her foot down.

As with the standard Mantis, the HP also comes in various different colours. Red, black, white, yellow, sky blue or royal blue.

Order yours today and realize your dream of leaving Ferraris and R8s and Corvettes behind!

Greets,
Tom

As promised, today i’m going to show you the Leo XX!

This car competes with the BMW M5. That’s why making an adequate engine was a bit irritating for me, because the Tiger HP is technically a rival to the M6 Grand Coupe, but that has the same engine as the M5. I didn’t want to use the same 6.0 NA engine, so i turbocharged it and made something with 551hp. That doesn’t sound very impressive, but look at the power curve:

And despite the fact that this car weighs almost 1800kg, i think the stats are worth noticing:

Now, according to the MotorTrend test of the BMW M5, the M5 did 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.9 @ 120.3mph. So, off the line, the BMW is faster but because of the wider power band, the Leo XX will catch up and overtake it. Being faster than an M5 over the quarter mile (and also in terms of top speed) is an achievement if your car is in the same class and actually has less power. Especially considering that the M5 will cost you 131.800€ here in Austria, whereas the Leo XX is just 95.000€. And it’s more economical.

Choose your colour! If black is not the right colour for you, what about midnight blue, dark green, maroon, arctic grey or white?

Maybe you heard some rumors flying. About something with an uncertain future, something still far away and yet there already in a concept. You may have guessed it, it’s the concept of the Futuro HP! When i first designed the Futuro, i said to myself that there wouldn’t be an HP version. But now i’m doing it regardless because of how much positive feedback i received. Thanks guys

At a price of 40.000€, this is no longer entry level. However, you get a 7-speed double-clutch gearbox, AWD (the standard Futuro models are all RWD only), a sharper suspension, sports tyres and a 1.75L I4T with 330hp. This makes for a 0-100km/h time of 3.3 seconds, the quarter mile takes 11.4 seconds @199km/h (124mph). It also comes with premium interior, standard 20s entertainment, advanced 20s safety features and all driver aids except launch control. And yet, the car weighs less than 1100kg and uses just 5.9l/100km.

Whether or not this car will be produced the way it is, is still up in the air. Chances are it’ll be the #1 car in the category around the Porsche Cayman, the Alfa 4c and the BMW 2series. But noone knows, everything could be changed before going into production.

What won’t be changed is the types of colours. Like the normal Futuro, this comes in either white, sky blue, royal blue, midnight blue, black, arctic grey, lime green or yellow.

My personal favorite colour? Honestly, all of them, i’m very pleased with how this car turned out. I just hope it will reach production and set the new benchmark in its class

Tom

While the “normal” DQE workers managed to impress the Queen with the Royal, the Speed Academy has been working on a car which is pretty much exactly the opposite. The Vulture. Just based on the looks of the front end, you can probably guess what this car’s main rival is

Correct. This car rivals the SRT Viper. The Viper gets an 8.4L V10 with 649hp, so it seemed obvious for me to play the game and use a 8.2L V8 with 660hp. I did for the first time, but then i realized that my best 0-100 time was 4.0 seconds (on semi slicks) whereas the Viper does it in 3.5. So i went on and tried some other engines and fiddled with weight distribution and weight in general and this is my best result in a RWD car with a 5.0 NA V8 engine:

Also, you can probably guess that fuel economy wasn’t a priority when i created this car. But actually, this car is much better for the economy than a Prius or some other really economical car. This is fuel economy in another sense. It will allow the local petrol stations to make much more money in the same time, so i guess they should come over and thank this car’s developers for all the profit.

Anyway, at this point it’s time to mention the price. Considering it has a carbon fibre chassis, aluminium panels, premium interior, premium entertainment, advanced safety features and a 7-speed double-clutch gearbox, i think 120.000€ is a fair price. Especially when you keep in mind that the Viper costs about the same but will be slower over the quarter mile and on top speed. Plus, the Vulture is a nicer place to sit so the driving experience is not like “It’s uncomfortable and very hot in here, BUT the performance is sooo good”, it’s more like “Wow, even more performance than in the Viper, and still it’s more comfortable”.

If you don’t like lime green, you can also go for white, maroon, midnight blue, royal blue, orange or red.

Get your Vulture today and show Viper fanboys that there is a replacement for displacement!

Greets,
Tom

Replacement for displacement, great job

Thanks pleb!

I like how you used the vents for GT stripes LOL :stuck_out_tongue:

yea  it was just something i wanted to try and i liked it so i left it
