Can you add the 3 cylinder engine soon? I really want to make my engine thats in my car, its a 2014 fiesta sfe ecoboost.
It will be added in time, and using the search function would confirm this. Patience is key.
I really want to make an I3 too! But I looked in the very first topic on this forum section and found out that will most likely be added in Automation v1.0.
Here, take a look: automationgame.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=137
Any expected date when 1.0 will be out?
After the tycoon part is finsihed, which will probably be somewhere 1 year from now, but most likely 1,5 year. So as Jakgoe said, Patience is key, my friend.
o just great, my brother alone can code faster than this
Well then why doesn’t he make his own car tycoon game, then we can all marvel in his coding speed.
Also, FYI, the calculations for more engine types are already done, it’s just the art and sounds that need to be done, and it’s much more complicated than you think.
Patience is a virtue that you seem to lack.

I’m an university-educated engineer (real engineer, that is, not someone who merely has a MSCE certification), currently working on my master’s degree and well-versed in many programming languages, frameworks, algorithms, and so on. Making a game takes a lot of time. Making code that looks good on the surface is a grunt job anyone can do; making code that performs well is a bit harder.
A bit? I’m just in basic computer science ap and optomization is already rediculously hard.
Everybody missed this question, so I shall ask it… Why!!!
But seriously, wouldn’t you rather build far more interesting engines than a 1L triple that is designed to save Ford money? The concept behind Automation is to build the cars you’d make if you could, not re-create an engine that you can go outside and experience in far richer detail than Automation could ever provide…
If you’re bored then enter the community challenges; you’ll learn lots about designing within set parameters and the joys/pains of peer evaluation. I personally have learnt heaps about how this game works by having my backside handed to me in every car comp I’ve entered…
shakes head Kids these days… wanders off mumbling under my breath
Both Alfa Romeo have made interesting three cylinder engines.
Are you guys even serious? Why are you feeding the troll? There clearly was a sign around his … -fence saying “DO NOT FEED THE TROLL”.
I got my degree in Game Design and Technology and yes I made games in class, but this is NOTHING compared to what Andrew and Caswal are doing here! Not even talking about calculations, betatesting and all the other stuff KillRob, Der Bayer and the whole betatest crew do!
Will the T-head also be available? that was a very popular engine back in the day and sounded awesome.
Time to lock?
No, they were obsolete in the 1920s, the game starts in 1946. May I suggest watching this video:

I think it’ll answer all the questions I’m sure you’re dying to ask (and in some cases, ask multiple times). Enjoy it! I know I did.
