Exploration vehicle challenge (RESULTS ARE IN!)

Bogliq Automotive REALLY needs the money from this contract so we’ve come up with this!

Presenting the 1995 Bogliq Khan!!!

No idea how it’ll go in the calculations but it was fun to design something different from the usual competitions but which still has a purpose I can support! (No way am I designing a Hummer competitor, )
Yeah, Mechanical fuel injection is better as far as horsepower output, but in my opinion, it’s not worth the price gap. I’ve found a way to use carburetor to get pretty darn good reliability, but in the process, I think I’ve won the award for lowest specific output. 8 liters of thundering fury, developing… Wait for it…

110 Horsepower.
well… 13.75HP per liter. but power band? also, i assuming it’s a v8?

MFI it’s expensive and complicated, I used a big old carburetor. And, since I know I wasn’t getting anywhere with fuel economy, I designed instead a really torquey engine, with a low specific output as well… but not that low.

Just wondering, is the basic 3-way catalytic converter the only one we can use, or is it a choice between that and the high-flow 3-way one?

The regular one, not high flow

lol i thought the only one having the problem this bad.

like 4.7km/l i think.

i remember the vehicle i made as a test of the rules got me like 12 MPG using MFI, so it isn’t impossible to get into double digits

I’m getting 11.9 mpg with it right now, and I still need to do some tweaking, so it’s entirely possible. Of course having a vehicle that weighs less than 1500 kg makes it easier to go for fuel economy.

uuh buddy?

4.7km/l is 11.05MPG. it’s already in double digits

I made a truck and it is below Example score in the OP… Back to the start

Presenting the 1995 Solo Rocky Exploration Special!

There clearly was a bulk discount on lights at the time… at least any explorer won’t need to pack any extra lights for their camp.

I can’t remember if mine is a 3.7, or a 3.8L V6… half of yours though in every way.

oh my apology i don’t know km/l and i was busy so i didn’t get the conversion

No replacement for displacement. :smiling_imp:

Useless, horribly underpowered displacement, but displacement nonetheless.

20 grand a car, there’s my problem. Anything I do ends up over budget.

Those scientists don’t deserve the premium interior  Sometimes the pricing is wrong when switching tabs. I was just below 20,000 and changed a few things and ended up at 20,300. I lowered it to exactly 20,000, but when I reloaded, I was at 19,200 and got to reverse some of my cost cutting. Not sure why it does that, but that might be the issue you’re having (assuming you’re just a few hundred off)

A couple grand… or five…
